Great tank for RX200?

As the title states, I've decided to jump on the band wagon and throw an RX200 in my cart over at vapornw. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but it was between that and the Fuchai 200W TC. Anyway, that's another sub.

I'm having a hard time deciding what tank I want. It's between the uWell Crown, Griffin, or TFV4. One big thing is I want to be able to build my own coils in it and I know some of those come with and others have to be bought seperately. Not a huge deal, but would be nice if it came with.

Thought?

If you want to build your own then the griffin is the way to go. The TFV4 comes with the single coil rebuildable if its the full kit but you have to buy the dual. Im not sure if the crown has one or not to be honest with you but the griffin would be the best out of those 3 going off what you want.

I just got a RX200 a month ago and its fantastic.

go with the rx from vapenw, you won't be disappointed. On the tank subject, perhaps also check out the aromamizer from vapenw. I don't build coils or I would be all over the griffin, however the aromamizer is also really popular with the builders and you can also get premades (also from vapenw) for a good price that work really well. I opted for the 6ml version of the tank and really love it!

I made up my mind in my head already on the Griffin and I REALLY just needed that extra push you guys gave me ;) I LOVE building so far, but I don't have a legit ohm reader yet. I think I'm going to pick up the coil-master 521 for $40 or the U.S.A. Fire Meter, but that's like $75... Wait.. I just went on their site and there's a VDAY special for 20% off... I knew this holiday was good for something! Not sure if theirs is worth the extra $ but I'll do my research as I heard USA ohm meters are top notch and I don't know much about the coil master 521 but they seem popular and legit.

Back on topic. Griffin it is! The only thing that made me doubt myself was that it's out of stock in black @ VapeNW and it's $30 USD there.. I typically don't care for black all the time, but it IS much sleeker looking than the SS. I can't WAIT for my new mod to come in. I just got all my eJuice DIY supplies in the mail finally yesterday (LB-501, VG/PG, 30 flavourings, etc.) and so far I've mixed three shake and vape recipes that have all been home runs. Not bad if I say so myself. I'm sure the VT nic is helping bring my flavours through, although I did just make a batch with a nude sample so I'll see what difference it makes if any.

Sorry I keep swaying off topic, I'm just super fricken' excited because I've been off the stinkies since I first received my Kanger TopBox Mini about a month or so ago. Don't miss them ONE BIT. Just love the fact that I can breathe, smell good, build, mix, instead of spending nearly $10 a pack on cancer. I've surpassed what I would've spent on stinkies the last month by about 300% or more, but IDGAF I have a new hobby now. It's so interesting to me and keeps me out of trouble and it does not hurt that the wifey loves the way I smell now especially when hopping into bed after a diezel rip :D

If it was me I would only buy the fire meter if its a "support made in the usa" buy. The 521 is a great piece of kit. Everything in the other meter is either made in china or tiawan and just assembled here. Im all for supporting us products but not at a $25-40 price difference. Ive seen it on sale for $30 and it will work just as well honestly. Think it actually has more features to.

Check the bay for the tab and the black griff. Geek vape the makers of the Griff also have a version of the 521 tab as well for the same price of cheaper and vapenw sells it.

I just ordered a CCI Maus tank. Cannot wait for that shit to show up. Everything I hear is crazy competition winning clouds from a frickin tank of all things (I gives 0 fucks but sweet right) and incredible flavor. Been checking my tracking on it hourly. Anybody have one of these? It's supposed to decimate my TFV4 and that's a pretty high claim.

The TFV4 mini is my favorite on the RX. I don't do much rebuilding... Ok who am I kidding, I don't do ANY rebuilding so I can't offer any insight into RDA/RTA's.

Noted. I've also seen the ohm reader made by Geek Vape. I just brushed over the details so I'll check it out now again. The fire meter IS expensive. I figured if be paying for better quality and reliability. It IS a $25 difference though (w/that coupon code) and idk if it's worth THAT much for an ohm reader especially when the other ones listed could be just as good if not better.

The problem comes down to(for my cheap ass anyways) that extra $25 could be spend on other things like ceramic tweezers, wick, different types of wire to experiment with or a plethora of little things that you should buy to make building easier and help you produce better builds or put into another atty/mod combo.

Im a firm believer in having a minimum of 2 if not 3 quality atty/mod combos that vape similar because something WILL eventually break and really as I and other have found you really wanna vape a couple different juices as eventually you can get burnt out to a point on a juice that it gives you serious vape tongue and ruin that flavor for you sometimes permanently or at least that has been by experience in my 5+ years of vaping. It wasnt as bad back in the day when it was carto's and the like but stuff is really powerful now and you get so much vapor and flavor it can burn ya out quick vaping to much of a good thing heh.

Plus why just have one awesome vape when you can have two or three:p Lets be honest this turns into a really enjoyable hobby but with improved lung functiuon and not smelling like a dirty ashtray all day.

I agree..

I like 3 or 4 mods for my daily vape in rotation.. All with different flavors that help prevent vapor's tongue or what I call flavor burnout.

Love that griffin tank on the RX. I really need to start building beyond single coils for the Subtank mini.

Thanks skt!
I was tired of buying those expensive replacement coils for the TVF4 and was looking for a RTA that could replace it..Well the Griffin goes beyond my wildest dreams in all categories... Velocity style deck makes building super easy..large juice channels, a juice control that actually works and adj airflow.. I've got a simple 24g dual coil build in it now and it blows clouds better than the TFV4 with the triple coil..
I have some .5 ohm claptons on the way to see for myself if the hype I hear about them is true, lol

You totally did that to show off and I totally would've done the same thing. Only thing is that it made me a little upset because although the black JayBo is extremely sexy, I have a white and teal one in my cart. I even have a Velocity styled RDA in teal in there as well to match it (how cute.) The reason I'm considering the white and teal is because it's very different and there's no other mod like it (that I've noticed) and I wanted something very different than the rest of my future mods. Not only that but EVERYBODY gets the black. But NOW that I see how drop dead gorgeous that Black Jaybo is with that black Geek Vape tank... I cant.. I can't even. I hate you for this.

I have two tanks with different flavors going now. That's only because I needed time to decide which other ones to pull the trigger on. Looks like I'll have 4 for a little bit (til something new catches me eye) as well. I threw a noisy cricket (JayBo's getting all the love I've got) in my cart as that thing is a monster and very highly rated. I don't know everything about batteries, but I've pretty much just been buying HG2's for everything as they seem to be very well liked and highly rated.

I picked the black Jaybo mods for two reasons.. because black is indeed sexy (lol) and it stays cleaner looking longer... It doesn't show dirt or fingerprints as easily as a white or light colored mod...And they vape great!

If I were still working out in the field (I was a commercial cable technician for Xfinity) then I would absolutely need to get the black. Since the car rollover I was in back in November I have since moved into the office as a tech support specialist and my company is somewhat cool (so far) with stealth vaping at my desk so I'm not too worried about dirt and finger prints. I also held one in the B&M by my house and it seems like the white would wipe down easily with a clorox wipe or something. I would actually think that the black would show smudges and juice alot easier than the white but I guess that all depends on the texture of the shell. Who am I kidding anyway, I'm sure within the next few weeks I'll be ordering a second in whatever opposite color I choose

True, I guess, lol
Just have to get both and see which seems to be easier to maintain that clean look, lol
BTW, the black doesn't have that rubbery feel that I can notice...but the paint is holding up great.. The only thing I had to do was re-glue one of the little magnets in the door..a drop of super glue and its good again...

Well I just like to go against the grain and get something a little different sometimes. The black is definitly sick. The white/teal is just more vintage looking to me. I'm a heterosexual male. Just like funky colors.

Okay that's enough of defending my manhood. But thanks for making me all defensive, Nancy!

I think you will love the RX200 and I would personally get the Griffin if you want to build your own coils. It has an easy build deck. I love my Coilmaster 521 Tab and would not want to build coils without it. I love testing my coils and being able to fire them to tweek them before putting them on my Mod.

Pescadore...Fisherman? You must be Portuguese or Brazilian. I can't WAIT for my RX200 to come in!! I ordered that w/3 LG HG2's, Noisy Cricket w/2 VTC4's, Hannya RDA, Velocity (Tobeco), Efest LUV V4, Coil Master Coiling kit, and CM 521 tab. Yayyy I'm finally getting some pretty legit mods (I'm not that interested in DNA200...not for the price at least.)

I may have to check out some bottom feeders but I don't know much about those or what companies are good or bad.

As tempting as the USA OHM METER 3D Fire Meter was @ $60, I couldn't justify paying that much and losing features such as testing for voltage drop and alligator clips to burn and test my wire and coils without the need for a torch...just for a weeency bit of (supposed) accuracy. Actually, from most head to heads I saw the CM 521 was on par with more mods than the USA OHM METER was as far as resistance accuracy goes. It's all marketing and glitz and glam, dude. People think because they're paying double the price that they're getting a significantly better meter. Nope. Even if CM 521 tab lasted half as long as the fire meter, I could still buy another when it died and it would be a wash in price. I'm not saying USA OHM sucks, just saying that if they were priced at $50 I probably would've gotten it. Oh well. +1 China.

Never had the Noisy Cricket but looks cool. The DNA 200's are pricey but being somewhat of a high tech redneck, I enjoy using Escribe to make adjustments and modifying the display. Honestly during the work day, my little Evic Mini with the Billow Nano RTA gets the most use. I love the Reuleaux DNA 200 but it is not as easily carried. My wife took over one of my Hcigar VT200's so I keep my Velocity on the other and use it when dripping. I have a bunch of different tanks but really like building my own coils versus buying premades so the Billow gets a lot of use. I also have two Aromamizer RDTA's that I use some.

I just take my rx200 everywhere at this point. My ipv3 just sits there, abandoned, and I can't even imagine how many batteries I'd have to carry to swap out with a single battery mod. I'd like to grab a griffin to try out, because I can't stand the RBA deck for the crown, but honestly, the rx200 with a crown on top is the most simple, no fuss, enjoyable vaping I've experienced since I started vaping, which is going on 7 years I believe. I can't believe how much longer usage I get out of six batteries in the rx200 compared to six in the ipv3, and using the .25 ohm prebuilt coils in the crown might be lazy, but damn they work good.

The TFV4 is ok I suppose. The one I borrowed tended to leak, and most of the people I know with them say theirs leak too, ranging from slightly like the one I borrowed to really bad. If anything, it was a slightly better vape than the crown, but you had to be running at much higher wattages to get that. I'd honestly much rather have my batteries last forever and get a great vape at 60-80 watts than have a negligibly better vape at 120+ watts, but that's just my preference.

There are reported issues with that tank. Some of the pins are not long enough and you get a 'no atomizer found' on a mech and a hard short on a hybrid. This is a big issue. Ther insulator for the positibe pin is inset into the atty and does not cover your negative threads so you had bwst check that your pin does not push in when you push on it before you start vaping on it.

I know this is a bit late, but I'll throw my thoughts in right quick. I have far to many tanks and rta's (only have 3 rda's). Currently, my top tanks are Herakles Plus, Rafale, and Arctic V8. The Griffin was my top RTA, but since I got my Gemini RTA, I haven't even touched my Griffin, or my tanks, or even my Velocity. It is absolutely fantastic. Great build space with amazing airflow. It's hands down the best device I've used. It's kinda of sad that I look at my Velocity as a taste test device. It's the same price as the Griffin at vapenw.
As far as the RX200 I've been absolutely loving it. I agree with some of the other commenters that black is the best option. Guy at the local Cabana has the white and teal and I'm glad I stuck with the black. The white parts show any stains from ejuice and any dirt. I actually found these forums trying to see what TCR people are using for 316L. Getting the Hohm Wrecker 2 today (hopefully), so I'm not sure how much I'll be using the 200 after, but for the price, the 200 is a fantastic grab. What's weird is when you go to hold a different mod, specifically box mods, they feel so awkward and uncomfortable.
Hope this helps and Happy Vaping

Couldn't agree more, the ergonomics of the rx200 are just spot on. It's more comfortable to carry around all day than any of the two battery mods.

I'm not sure about that, it's definitely heavier and has a bigger footprint so it's not going to fit in a pocket anywhere near as easily. It is, however, a really nice mod to have in the hand. Fits well. And while it is heavier it isn't heavy to the point that it's obnoxious. That being said, I think the Fuchai 200W is every bit as comfortable to grab with it's parallelogram shape.

As far as a tank goes, with the awesome battery life I get from the RX200 I tend to use it as my RDA mod. My two-battery Sigeleis last about two days with my tanks anyway, so having an RDA on the RX200 just sorta happened by default.

I was routinely changing my batteries twice a day with my IPV3, but I often can do every other day with my RX200. Same type of batteries, LG HE4s.

As for the Fuchai I've never held one. The shape is definitely interesting though. I have handled plenty of dual battery Sigelei and IPVs and I'd definitely rate the RX200 better for carrying around than any of them I've held so far. The only other mod I've handled that felt as nice is the vapor flask. For pocketability? It's fine in my jean pockets, or any of my bike jacket pockets. I suppose it might be a problem if you wanted to tuck it in a shirt pocket though. I think it's more about if you are comfortable carrying a larger device around than anything. Some people just aren't. It really doesn't feel any bigger in my pockets than my IPV3 ever did.

Well I ended up ordering the RX in white and teal with some more HG2's. Alongside I also got a Hannya postless RDA, Velocity RDA by Tobeco, JayBo's Noisy Cricket with Sony VTC4's, and some other stuff I can't recall and I love surprises. I'll take a look at that Gremlin and the Herkales, but the Griffin is at the top.

I know its late to say it, but I got the Smok TFV4 to sit atop my RX200 and totally love it. Looks sexy, is a big piece of thing for a big piece of mod, and works great (plus tri and quad coils are sweet). The only thing I can say negative is that the coils are so big that it makes the capacity for juice smaller. I fill the tank to the tippy top before going to work and then by my last break the things already empty. I guess its not surprising considering its a tri coil head firing at 0.2 ohms at usually between 80 and 90 watts, but still, the thing is a thirsty fish.

Nah, its not too late... I didn't end up ordering a new RTA but I probably will in the next few days as today is pay day

Appreciate the input from everybody and will put some serious thought into every bodies suggestions. I just got an email from vapordna showing off a new RTA by Sigelei. Its called the Moonshot is advertised to fire and handle 200w Not sure why anybody would want to vape at that wattage, but hey maybe it will give a cool vape at 100w
Its described as a 200w capable 2 post RTA by Suprimo.

Vape on everyone!!

@PryingOpenMyThirdEye Check out the Gemini RTA by Vaporesso. The Griffin is absolutely phenominal, but the the Gemini adds the Herakles Plus top airflow design into the mix. The crazy good thing is the airflow comes up from the bottom in a pipe and comes up on the inside between the coils pushing the air right to your coils from the inside. When I first got it, I put the same dual Clapton in both and the Gemini just tastes amazing. I've only talked to one person who has the moonshot, so I can't really comment on that.

Good luck m8 and Happy Vaping

I've been researching to buy an RTA and I'm just going to buy a Griffin and keep my Crown in service for pre-built coils if I'm feeling lazy. Moonshot's got a tiny juice reservoir and a build deck that I wouldn't want to touch, and the Gemini might have some nice features over the Griffin, but it's got a smaller build deck. I'd rather have fatter, wider claptons than the slightly different airflow.

if I had to get rid of all my tanks and keep only one it would undoubtedly be the Griffin... I wasted alot of money on tanks that are far inferior, but they were rated high when they came out...these tanks include the TFV4, Crown, Maganus, Starre, Herkales, Atlantis and Arctic to name a few..the Griffin made everyone of them lacking in performance...and suddenly obsolete..just saying, lol

The Gemini looks to be a griffin+ same style with a few extra's/improvements.
I think the Gemini has a smaller deck, not sure if I could fit in those 3mm claptons like I do on my Griffin.. Just saying,

@Break-19 @RedDirtTrooper Same size build deck. I'm able to fit my fused Claptons (2x 28 guage parallel kanthal with 36 guage nichrome 80) in both at 3mm 5 wraps. With the Griffin however, I like 2.5mm better because the airflow is choked off. Not a problem with the Gemini due to the larger bottom and middle airflow. Don't use the top airflow much as I'm a straight chain vaper for flavor, not so much for clouds.

Happy Vaping

Just a quick edit. Saw some discussions elsewhere regarding a 25mm Griffin that is supposedly coming out. Supposedly includes same options as the Gemini along with a bigger build deck and swappable 2.5 to 5 ml tanks. Have no clue as to the validiry, but thought I'd throw it out there.
