Fried insulator

So I have a micro tfv4 and it comes with this RCA rebuildable coilhead. And it recently started acting pretty weird, first it started reading too high ohm loads (had a 0.5 Clapton build and was reading about 0.8 or even higher) the flavor went down and tasted burnt all the time, when dry firing I noticed smelly awful smoke and sparkling noises come out even when the coil is completely dry, I often get shorts near the negative screw wich is now black and the insulation is black and seems to be melting upon fire.....whatever this RCA was just absolute garbage but perhaps it was my fault, anyone have a similar experience?
