Believe what you will, I've had friends with poor privacy settings that have suffered the same dilemma. Some of them were sent requests to change their user names, as the ones they had were in "violation" of so-called "policy." Whatever entity has taken over your account has undoubtedly created a new one, likely complete with your profile pic, and is sending out friend requests as we type. No one is ever asked to verify their age or even existence with hard copy.
Except you, of course.

no one has taken it over and i have contacted FB about it and they told me the same thing again TODAY . the account is locked. just google facebook requires id . or hell even search youtube people have even posted vids on it . i didnt come here looking for attention or your approval. hell even the vaping underground page was taken down a few weeks ago.
