FA Percentages

When using FA flavoring what would be the recommended max % a person would want to use for a recipe? Seems like everything I read is that FA is quite a bit stronger than say TFA so I'm trying to make sure I don't make an overpowered small batch of something and destroy my tastebuds lol.

More specifically I've been looking through the recipe section and it seems like around 10% is about the max for FA. My concern is I found a recipe on another site and its calling for almost 20% flavoring and supposedly they are using FA. Seems like it would be too much compared the recipes I find here.

Just looking for some imput before I waste too many flavorings :) Thanks in advance!

I've found that a main flavor is good between 1-3%, supporting flavors around 0.25-1%. Total for my recipes is usually between 4-8%

I agree with JXN - I've never used FA at a total percentage over 10%, and usually it's much less!

Don't remember where I originally found this spreadsheet.
It lists good percentages for single flavor mixes with many different extracts.
Just click the extract manufacturer at the top and look for your desired flavor.

I don't really know anything about it, but it looks like the yellow column is the average percentage, and the other columns were from various users providing the percentages they used.

You are correct.

Another very, very useful tip... all the flavor reviews by HeadInClouds in the DIY Reviews area. A-Mazing notes!! You won't regret it.
