You've never seen Futurama? It's a great show, but no longer running.
If you've ever watched Simpsons, it's similar to that and was also made by the creators of The Simpsons.
It was designed for Fox with plans to replace The Simpsons but Family Guy ended up being more popular. Fox ended up cancelling it after 4 seasons in 2003. Then in 2008 4 Movies were made for the show. Comedy Central got it in 2009 and 3 more seasons were made before it was cancelled again in 2013.
In 2014 there was a Simpsons episode that featured the cast from Futurama. Some think it is a hint to a new Futurama season being planned.

Almost a month later and no contact from the company at all.
No reply to the initial email, no contact from a followup email earlier in the week.
