I've seen a lot of coils with each wrap touching, (its generally how I build) but I've also seen a lot with open spacing. Wondering what everyone preference is, and maybe why

I build Kanthal coils touching (micro), I build Nickel coils spaced. But, I've seen a lot of post where people are building nickel coils touching (micro) and they seem to work. I haven't tried it yet, but may, just to compare.

With kanthal I always had touching coils since its easy and you would dry burn to find hot spots. Once Ni200 came around though, I've stopped dry burning and space my ni200 coils. This is my own theory... If the coil is touching it will vape all the juice in that section of the wick out and if you take hits back to back you could get a slight dry hit. With spaced wraps it would allow for juice to flow back into the wick faster.
