HIC actually brought this very issue up a couple of years ago, in fact, it caused him to remove one of his publically available recipes that contained this particular combination. If I'm not mistaken, it was a Cranberry/Ginger Ale recipe but I forget the actual title.

Nonetheless, good info to revisit and to share for others who might not be aware!
