Boba Fett may be dead, or he may be alive, and it's up to a future Star Wars storyteller to determine his fate.
According to Slashfilm, Pablo Hidalgo, a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group, had this to say about the fate of the legendary bounty hunter:
"Boba Fett is both simultaneously alive and dead in the Sarlaac Pit until a story pulls him out."
Hidalgo is credited with additional production support on Star Wars Rebels, and is part of a team whose job it is to ensure all current and future Star Wars narratives tell a cohesive story.
This team was created by president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, and its influence expands to cover upcoming films, books, TV shows, comics and games.
