Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of the Augvape BTFC RDA, please see the bottom for disclaimers and links. Note: This is the retail version.

Introduction:
The BTFC RDA is the latest RDAs from longtime manufacturer augvape. They don’t get a lot of hype around forums but quietly make some really nice products. They were pretty popular a few years back then fell out of relevance with a lack of product and the stuff they put out not being very good, but so far in 2018 they are doing quite well with the templar RDA and the intake RTA. The BTFC is designed with popular vape reviewer vapnfagan. The BTFC RDA is named for Bottom, Top, Flavor, Clouds, so essentially has bottom and top airflow and you can use bottom only for flavor or both for clouds and is a dual coil DTL RDA with an included squonk pin. It’s available in 4 colors SS, Black, Gunmetal and Rainbow. They sell on the official site off of aliexpress for around 30USD so good price point and i see it on a few US sites at that price point as well.

Initial Impressions and features
When I first got to try this RDA it was actually at ECC where the rep let me try his out that was already built so i got to try it before actually having one and i was pretty impressed with it. Not just flavor wise but also that a rep had a well build RDA with good flavor which was pretty rare there. I think only augvape and geekvape had that off the top of my head. He gave me the review sample there the same ones being sold there so retail version and asked for my color choice. I picked rainbow and he wa slike are you sure? I was like yeah lol. I guess people don’t like rainbow? IDK i do and it looks nice in review pics. Either way i was pretty impressed from the start

Build Deck and Wicking (pics above)
Let’s talk about the build deck now. It’s a semi unique deck that functions halfway between a velocity style and a postless deck. You don’t need to precut your leads it kind of feels like a better version of the drop RDA deck. It’s made for dual coils and each lead has its own terminal so they all get their own post hole and you can install your coils 1 at a time. Just as it should be. The coils slide into the holes which are a good size and the leads come out the other side so they are easy to clip. You just line up the coils over the bottom air holes and you are good to go. Really easy to build on. The post screws come top down so it won’t bend your leads with flat wires like fused claptons but also work great with round wire as well. The post screws themselves are great quality hex screws my personal favorite. The negative posts are milled into the deck as well. Overall an excellent build deck that is really easy to build on even for beginners.

Wicking on it is quite easy. It’s an RDA so nothing fancy just drop your leads to the bottom.

Performance
Performance wise, I used it as a Dual Coil RDA only, you could run a big single coil if you wanted to but for me i’d rather use a dedicated single coil RDA for that so yeah dual only. I ran 4 builds in this a fancy 3mm ID build, a fancy 3.5 mm ID build, a fancy 4mm ID build and 1 simple round 4mm ID build. For size I found it best with a 3-3.5mm ID and as many wraps as you can fit comfortably in it. The flavor is great one of the better dual coil RDAs for sure and even worked great with the simple round wire. It does tend to get hot when chain vaping larger builds however so you can get some hot lips with this RDA. Basically as it says in the name if you want flavor close off the top air and use bottom only. If you want more clouds open up the top air as well. That’s what they intended to do and it works so hard to complain. Overall a very good dual coil RDA flavorwise if you keep the top air closed off.

Overall Impressions, Details, and Extras
Let’s talk about the airflow now. It has bottom airflow with 2 large holes small on opposite sides that you close off by spinning the whole top cap. It also has top airflow via 2 medium sized holes on each side on the top that you adjust by just turning the top part of the top cap where the drip tip goes into. The AFC is nice and smooth and easy to adjust. For both of them as the o-rings feel “just right” however my one minor complaint is the top airflow area to grip is really small and smooth and would have been nice to have some knurling on it for grip but i literally just use the drip tip to grip it to adjust it and that works great so a testament to how smooth the AFC adjust is and since it works i can't complain too much. Neither airflow is on a stopper and both free spin.

It comes with 2 standard 810 friction fit drip tips, one is a clear PMMA tip and the other a black delrin tip. While I like both of them i felt the black is a little plain. A Resin would have been nice but i do really like the clear tips like the one included here companies are suing these days. It does not come with a 510 adapter however so 810 only unless you already have an adapter. The Drip tips both fit very well in the RDA. snug, not loose, not tight. You can use your own as well any style works. The quality on the Augvape BTFC RDA is excellent. The o-rings for the top cap onto the base feel right and the top cap is snug but not tight. Very easy to take apart with no issues. The AFC is easy to adjust, the o-rings fit just right and everything is nicely done. The top cap doesn’t lock into place however it was still easy to get on and off mods. The post screws are great quality as well and 3 spare screws are included all hex grub screws. It comes with a standard 510 pin and a BF 510 pin like most RDAs these days and both are gold plated.

The juice well is a good size. Not massive but pretty large. The over squonk protection and Over drip protection is pretty good. The bottom airflow is high enough up that it doesn't cause any issues leaking when dripping or squonking. I only used it as a dripper as i’m not currently working on a review for any squonk mods but i did put it on a squonk mod just to test it real quick and it worked well. As a dripper you can drip right down the drip tip without taking off the top cap.

It’s a 25mm diameter so should not overhang on most mods on the market today. There is plenty of spare o-rings and 3 spare post screws for it, 1 allen wrench. no coils, no cotton however. good amount of accessories overall but some cotton, coils, and a 510 drip tip adapter would have been nice. Branding is pretty nice on it. It does have a decent sized BTFC engraved on one side but it doesn't stand out too much and isn’t cringey looking IMO so overall good job on the branding and the rainbow one looks great

Pros:
  • 2 Standard 810 Drip Tips (PMMA and delrin)
  • gold plated standard 510 pin and squonk pin included
  • plenty of spare o-rings
  • Color Options
  • great quality hex grub post screws with spares included
  • Good over squonk protection
  • works well as a dripper or squonker
  • great flavor
  • simple looks and branding
  • AFC is easy to adjust
  • great easy to use build deck
  • nice size juice well
  • great build quality
  • Price point (under 30 USD)
Cons:
  • no 510 adapter for drip tips
  • no included coils or cotton
  • would have been nice if top cap locked in place
  • needs more to grip for the top airflow adjustment
  • can give you hot lips with larger builds and chain vaping
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend this RDA?I don’t like to do a hard yes or no, but this one will lean pretty heavily towards the yes. Overall it’s one of the best dual coil RDAs i’ve reviewed this year. It’s easy to build on, doesn't need a fancy build but really shines with them. Good juice well, works as a dripper and a squonker. Really no major complaints at all from me. A 510 adapter would have been nice and my cons are really ticky tack that would make it better in my opinion but they aren’t really a knock against the RDA. It’s a great performer that’s easy to build on and great quality at under 30 USD well worth a buy. I’m a flavor guy so i much preferred it with the top airflow closed but the option is there for people who want bigger clouds so can't complain about that. I’ve added this to my sheet of recs linked down below.

This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.
