I agree with Huckleberried - the Kanger Subox is a great starter kit!

Didn't know 'bogey' was Toronto slang, we had that one in the New York metro area when I was a kid too. Welcome to VU!

If you haven't already, cruise through the regulated mods area and see what others are talking about. We also have a Battery Junkies section where the people in there are experts, basically, on battery safety. You follow their suggestions and you're gonna be ok.

Hey LemonKush416 and welcome to VU. You've found a great place for vape info :)

I quit a 37 year smoking addiction by switching to vaping 3 1/2 years ago. It worked for me, but I still had to work at it. Vaping will not ever be the same as smoking, but it gave me the edge when all my other attempts to quit failed.

I'm not going to try to advise you on starter gear as I'm not up on that stuff these days. One thing I would suggest to you is check out Canvape once you've decided on what gear you're interested in. I use them for almost all my DIY juice ingredients and check them first when I want to buy hardware. They are at a few flea markets in the GTA on the weekends too and that will save you shipping costs if they're not too far out of your way. I'm about 10 minutes drive from the Brampton location and that works well for me. If they have what your looking for their prices will be at least competitive, if not better than the rest in Canada. I can't comment on their juices as I mix those myself.

Best of luck with it my friend

wheres the brampton location at ?

Do your research online for the pricing. Go to youtube for reviews on the Starter Kit you are interested in. Go to your local Vape Shop that carries the kit, just so you can see how the product feels in your hands. Then look for the best price online. (beware of clones).

I'm late to the punch with this (thanks @Huckleberried for calling me in, haven't had any computer time to reply lately), but...

http://www.vapingunderground.com/th...-sick-clouds-bro-thread-sticky-edition.78126/

That's my big beginner's thread with an intro to a lot of stuff you'll want to know about using advanced devices. I'd worry a lot less about accidentally doing something stupid like building a pipe bomb to blow up in your face if you start with a regulated mod than a mechanical one, which it seems like you're looking at doing, and which I think is a great idea.

Regulated - you use a computer chip to control your vape. The chip also refuses to fire your mod if something is screwed up.

Mech - you push a button and the battery fires, even if it's delivering power to something that's going to catch fire or explode. Not recommended unless you want to put in many hours of research learning how to do it safely (and IMHO kind of pointless for beginners these days as there are a lot of better options out there as compared to a year or two ago).

The Kanger Subox is a great starter kit, as are the Evics (from what I've heard). Don't cheap out on your batteries, get a separate charger if you can, and get an ohm meter if you're thinking about building your own coils. Follow those three pieces of advice and you're well on your way. Check out the thread I linked above and any of the other threads I linked in that one that pertain to what you want to do, then hit me up if you've got more questions. Good luck, and welcome!
