Pulled the trigger on a Black Uwell crown & box of .5 coils. Can't wait to try it on my Sig 150 tc. Does anyone know how the airflow compares to a Triton tank?

More than likely you will have to close the air ring down a click or two on the Crown, it has massive air flow. I have the black also, looks better in person.
Yes better than the Triton.

Hi all,
Has anybody had a little seepage around the air ring. Yes I close it off when I top fill. One day I had a full on leak from the air holes, I checked that the coil was screwed in tight, it was, then I checked the top cap and noticed that the flat washer looking seal in the center of the top cap was distorted looking, stretched out, I replaced it and end of leak. That may be the one place that will give trouble, keep an eye on it. The constant on/off has got to ware on it. Other than this small issue, I'm loving the Crown. One more thing, I boiled the .25 coil in one cup of water and a 1/4 teaspoon of salt for 5 minutes, remove it from the water and turn it upside down and place it on a couple of sheets of writing paper overnight. It came back to life, just a suggestion.

I'm going to try to prolong the life of mine too. And Conan the warrior has already rewicked one. Said it was easy. I'm going to give it a try.

I had kangers and they didn't leak. Leaking doesn't bother me much. I mean of course it does, but it's a oring, not the tank. Anything with one can leak. But my Crown doesn't leak at all.

I did notice when I first got it, I would get some in the air valve body. Wasn't closing it on fill. But now that I do, not a problem. Once a week I will clean it out. Just vapor in the tank can condense in it. I will get accumulation in the chimney too. Either from filling, or just condensing. Have to clear that from time to time. I have had some minor spitting from time to time, but with so much air flow, it doesn't bother me at all. Overall, it performs very well in these areas. I know nothing will be perfect.

One thing I will say... O-rings seal by compression. Both my tanks have very good smooth threads. But there isn't a lot of compression. The parts mate without a lot of pressure. To the point at first I wondered if the seal was missing. Yet, no leakage or seepage problems. Whatever the case, they both work good for me.

I think it would be a bitch to simply rewick without rebuilding the coil - here's a youtube video showing the coil taken apart
Start around 12.39 to see the dissection!

What drip tip would you recommend for this tank? I'm using mine on the IPV 4s and I LOVE IT!!! My ONLY issue is that the drip tip gets unbearably hot and I need to find one that is more heat resistant that fits on the tank (preferably with the same amount of airflow)! Please help thanks!!!
I use my dot mod drip tip. Its my favorite one but theyre pretty expensive. About $30 shipped...for a drip tip :O haha here it is on my crown n hex ohm

Any opinions on the optional RBA? I have both on route.

I don't own one (yet), but I have been forewarned that the RBA does not perform as well as the coils, more like the RBA on the Kanger Subtanks ... just food for thought. I look forward to hearing first hand what you think of it.

I noticed on most of the tanks with an RBA included, or optional they have a more restricted airflow, compared to the replaceable coil heads. One exception is the UD Zephyrus' dual coil RBA, it has even more airflow. When I was looking at the pictures of the RBA for the crown, it looked like it should have a pretty good airflow as well. I will see and keep y'all posted.

Ok lots to take in here on the Crown. 1. Do the Starr coils work with a Crown? 2. Can someone post a link to a rebuild of the Crown coils? (If not maybe I'll post one). I'm fairly good at rebuilding coils.
3. Can everyone chime in and let us know what mod you're using with the Crown. Thank you :)
4. Can others pls share where they buy their Crown coils from and how much per box. @VapinJoy THANK YOU for responding, I was worried about air flow as I've read a lot of complaints about this, I don't get that at all? Anyway good to know its better than a Triton tank.
One last thing please, does anybody know how the Crown would work with an sbody mod?

I use a ipv4 and a Sigelei 100 plus, as far as coils I think ecig.com has the best prices going, $6.40 for ni200 and currently $7.40 for .50ss, I don't believe the Starr coils will work in the Crown.
Here is a link to a youtube review on the RBA, http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...&mid=F9AD0475EF6E63E84CE6F9AD0475EF6E63E84CE6 Go to 9:32
Your welcome.

#3: I'm using the Crown on my IPV4 and SX Mini
#4: I've been getting my coils from Huff and Puffers, when you buy bulk you get discounts plus my 15% coupon so I ended up paying $12.25 a 4 pack with 4 packs of coils.

Airflow is insane, I only use the tank on the 1st airflow hole as wide open is just too much for my liking. First hole is almost equal to a Triton wide open and even more airflow at that setting than a Subtank Plus wide open.

Love this tank!

I found a review on the RBA. However, I'll have to disagree with this guy regarding a 3mm ID coil causing dry hits. I get better wicking on a RDA with a 3mm ID coil, than with a 2.5mm coil. The problem I can see with a 3mm ID coil is more restricted airflow, and that might be the cause for a dry hit, due to the lack of airflow, the coil isn't cooled enough. I might try a vertical 3mm ID coil build on it as well.
Anyhow, here's the video

On my phone, I select the message I want to "like" and then a bar appears at the top of the screen to actually "like" it.

Sorry, but the less you know about my secret identity, the better off you are ... But I will tell you this, at the moment I'm vaping Blueberry Vanilla Tobacco, watching TV, while trying to convince myself to finish cleaning up after dinner. LOL

In general, more distance of the coil from the air hole. Then of course, a smaller ID of the coil helps as well.
Yeah, been using 2.5mm 316l. It's fanfuckingtastic

Well, I received my RBA piece today. The tank itself, I ordered from eBay. However the tracking shows shipping label created on Saturday. Should have bought the tank for a few bucks more, at the place were I got the RBA. F....!

This is exactly why I don't like ordering separate components from different sources!

the sbody macro is a 40watt device? if so thats not gonna be enough for the crown.

The crown ni200 coil works great at 50 but probably can go higher
the.25 SS coil works form about 50-100w
the .5 coil works about 45-70
no ide aon the 1.2 ohm single SS coil. It might be ok with 40 watts

The 1.2 is rated at 30watts max. I felt no need to go above that

The 1.2 will likely shine in the 18-22 watt range. That was the sweet spot for me when I was using higher ohm Kanthal coils (although not in the Crown).

So do the .5's HAVE to be used at 45-50 watts? I've never vaped that high b4.
I'm used of the .5 coils in a trition or kanger at around 30-33 W.

They don't "have" to be vaped at any setting, experiment and see what it does for you. You need to find the sweet spot for your tastes and needs, it may even fall into that range.

the .5 coil can handle quite a pit of power in comparison to most .5 coils.

this is a DUAL coil, not a single coil
so it can handle up to about 70 watts. But whatever works for you works for you.

But i would suggest trying it higher to see if you like it

The only thing about, say, vaping the 0.5ohm coil at 30 watts is that you don't get the flavor and vapor that develop at higher watts! But you can vape at whatever wattage you're comfortable at of course - just don't be afraid to try it higher just to see what you get! This is a useful article that tells you one person's experience at different wattages with the different coils: http://vaping360.com/crown-sub-ohm-tank-review-top-filling-sub-ohm-tank-uwell/
