Many of you have your own choice of favorite devices, but for me, the Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0 is the all around perfect device. It's small, looks simple enough, produces decent power and the battery lasts foreverrrrr!

That said, I've been eagerly waiting for a while now hoping that Innokin would announce an MVP 3.0, but I'm getting impatient. Suprisingly, I have no relationship with Innokin, so I have no clue on their future devices, nor have I tried to contact them for information regarding the MVP.

Do you think they'll be another version of the MVP? Are you wanting the same as me?

Well... if it's already just about perfect... then... well, you know how companies always try to "improve" things, but actually just end up making a crappier version at lower cost to themselves, with one trendy new feature and a dozen reductions in component quality or even specs?

Don't get me wrong, i love eating words, and hope to have the opportunity to eat these ones deservedly.

If they keep everything the same but increase the max power output, plus allow for wattage adjustment at 0.1 increments, I would definitely revisit it!

My MVP2 just died after only 4 months and that broke my heart:(
But I think I'm gonna stick with mechs for a while so that will be were my vaping funds will be channeled for probably the next year or so.
I still have the VV.3 and am not looking to get another MVP2 any time soon. But an MVP3 might be pretty cool if they add some higher power output and stuff

Depends on what they do with it.The 510 connection needs an upgrade and I would love it if they would scrap the beauty ring they love so much and just recess it.I would also llike to see a bump in output, the 3.5amp limit on the switch is a little lacking for my taste. That would be enough for me but there are some other changes I would like to see, such as: a flatter bottom for a more stable feel( they could remove the usb out, i don't use it), move the fire button to the side, it would be awesome if they would put a quick connect on the battery leads(RC car style) and offer replacement packs(maybe even an upgrade option to close the mah gap between the 26xxx batteries).

Repair the issues with the 510 connector, bump it to 30 watt with all the bells and whistles, give it an owner replaceable 18650, use some aluminum in the construction to shed some weight and flatten the bottom and I would be interested.

What RJ said... except I wouldn't necessarily buy it for my own personal use (with 1 exception). I'd recommend it with those changes for folks looking to get into vaping with a pretty decent device. I'd buy one to hand to folks at work that are interested in vaping, and for my own use while traveling so I leave my nice stuff at home.

Flush mount that 510 and I'll buy one. The ego threading (which I don't use) sticking up adding height to the MVP as it is now bugs me to no end.

I agree, flushing mounting the 510 wouldn't be a bad improvement. Fixing the center pin in the connector so that it doesn't drop all the time would also be pretty nice. And, as fancy as the whole knowing you have a power bank on hand is cool, but I don't actually know of anyone that ever uses it.

I've just favored the MVP 2.0 so much because it's a small form factor and has a long battery life, while in the process being very cost-friendly.

I was all about the MVP until my first one completely died after 6 weeks. I had two but my "warm fuzzy" left the building after that. Sold the replacement and then sold the other after getting a Provari. With that being said I really liked the form factor. Battery life was hugely over-rated though. I was luck to get 300-400 puffs on the counter.

With that being said they could.....
  • Make it smaller and lighter and round the corners a bit
  • Make the 510 connection much more durable. Never had an issue but many did
  • Owner replaceable battery pack or use an 18650 battery - Two would be awesome
  • Doesn't matter to me but bump the power to keep up with the competition
  • Round, recessed power button that is not so firm to push - But also not too spongy
  • AMOLED display with accelerometer
  • 1 year warranty

i love my MVP2's and have 3 of them, one over a year old and still going strong. (i obviously am not as prolific a puffer as garemlin)
that being said, i have small hands and it would be nice if it was a bit smaller and lighter, and had replaceable battery.

Fwiw I think some May be missing the point of the MVP. This is supposed to be an entry level mod that is very cheap. A lot of these suggestions would increase the cost of the device without making it any more appealing to a first time mod user.

I think most of what you are asking for would be doable Kelli. But things like recessing the 510 would increase the size but make it less appealing to a first time modder.

Actually the MVP did not start out as an entry level or cheap mod. When first released it was in the $60 - $100 range at many retailers. It is the fire sales that really brought attention to it. Just shows you how much mark-up there really is when they can sell them for $35 and still make a profit.

It was still entry level... How many other mods can you get started with for $60 out of the box? No batteries or external chargers to buy.

My wife loves hers… I prefer Mech's due to my job and they just make more sense to me. All the VV VW stuff in the world doesn't appeal to me in the least as it is just more stuff to break.

I enjoy depending on variable voltage/variable voltage, always have. I also haven't had one problem with this device, other than the center pin dropping a bit (easy fix of course). Granted, I still make use of all my mech mods and such, but the MVP is used the most. Everyone has their favorite, the MVP just so happens to be mine.

The MVP is flat out awesome , i say leave it exactly the way it is . Longevity can be nearly doubled by following certain charging routines and not just charging it when it hits yellow or red and then waiting for the green light to go out . While thats fine it will not provide the best longevity for the device.

Anybody that had one die in a month or two had a defective unit or had it subjected to extremes that are way outside what most would classify as normal usage.

I never thought i would see an item for sale that had five star reviews from every single person that reviewed it but everywhere i have been and seen reviews posted about it , that seems to be the case with this box.

101 Vape's website alone has close to 800 five star reviews for it and a very large percentage of the reviewers say they like it much better than their much more expensive mods .

So in closing , i say leave it the way it is , i never had issues with the pin , the bottom not being flat enough (please) or it being too large , it just kicks ass, period.

If you ever have seen one apart;
There is plenty of room to make that 510 conector flush. The bottom button is an easy fix for the manufacturer, I filed mine down while I had it apart. The firing Button is way to stiff, should be doable without added cost. All of these upgrades should be added for no additional cost. It is made fairly cheezy and on par with an ego for 3 times the cost. The ergomomic are terrible. The dual power supply idea is a flop.

I like the size of the MVP, but it doesn't have enough power for my likes.
Now if Innokin put he SX350 chip in a VTR and made it except 22mm attys that would be another story.

Yep, it's a workhorse. Would be nice to see the fire button mounted on the side vs the front. And a flush mounted 510 connector would be nice.

My girl loves her MVP 2 I got for her. Personally I like box mods. That said I would love for the new MVP to have about 30 or more watts. Flush mount 510 and a better fire button. And a better screen. Ok how about they just make into a dna 30.

They need to add a better 510 connection. The threads suck and the pin in it is the weakest link of the whole device.

this exactly.. the firing pin is fucking awful. dunno how innokin hasn't figured this piece out yet..

Since I have mine apart, and not using it much, I will sacrafice it to try and come up with a flush mount 510 mod instructions, when I have time over the next week. If anyone is interested.

There are a ton of devices coming that from what I have heard will be better that the current MVP. Tempered glass like an iphone, this and that....we will have some shipping to us I think tomorrow. Haven't tried them yet but I heard from some people that they are gorgeous and work really well. Of course, its yet to be seen. I'll post pics very soon though, as soon as the product has been completed. I forget if they are 15 or 25 watts.

So true! Hah I still vape an ego and sell everything...actually now vaping a Dovpo E-Mech and its ridiculously good, looks toy-ish but has some pretty useful crap like the flashlight that is pretty clutch. We made sure the next batch has no logo on it. In a way the E-Mech is better than an MVP IMO in that you can remove batteries AND charge them in the device, plus it goes to 30W. When I say there are ridiculous things coming from China, believe me its just the beginning. Anything you can imagine, some practical, some silly. Either way the number of new products are insane.

It's really important to just be aware what's what. It's getting more and more perplexing by the minute. Who makes what chip, what does such and such chip do. MVP2 is awesome, lets see what 3 looks like. I know what a competitor's device is gonna look like, and its OFF THE HOOK! Just like last year, there may be some new entrants coming forth with some products that will be pretty mind blowing relative to what you are seeing.

If so, will definitely be a YIHI chip. As of right now only GreenLeaf and Sigelei have directly contracted with Yihiecigar in China.

Well I will tell you that I loved the battery life on mine also. But it is no wonder people are having stripped out 510 problems. This thing is made very cheap folks and I mean no disrespect. The ego/510 connector I have just pulled out. The whole thing is cast from pot metal and I am 95% sure there is not a machined thread on the ego/510 connector. They a precission casted from pot metal and that is why they are being stripped so easily. I ran a zinc die cast machine back in 1981 while going to school I do know what I am talking about.

I do have it apart and this is not for the faint of heart because the pot metal breaks very easy. You have to drill out a rivet, and both peices are cast pot metal. Then wiggle the adapter off with vice grips while turning and it will destroy that connector! I have some that I can JB weld in place but I prefer to look for some better ones online.

There are 4 different boards on this thing and the wires break off very easy. If you ever had an ego apart you know what I am talking about.

If you want to mod it, it is most likely easier to buy a new housing from hammond with new end caps and start from scratch!

Please, please, please dont take this personal. I sacraficed mine to change the connector to a flush mount and other upgrades and just sharing with you how it is made! I will take pictures before putting it back together when I can use my kids digital for mine is a pc of crap.

i know the MVP's are cheaply made, but being a klutz, i have dropped mine a multitude of times on all surfaces, including concrete.....and they still work. of course i am short, so they don't have far to fall. but still..... :)

edit: oh and btw, for some reason i have never had probs with the threads.

I'd be willing to bet a good percentage of the issues with the threads and the pins being pushed down were user error. Cross threading or tightening too hard. Not all so retract the claws those of you that were careful. LOL

No I have seen the back of the pin and there is nothing holding it but a silicone disc with a hole in it and a dab of hot glue over the solder. The pin is able to move freeley in and out.

The hot glue is dropped on half hazardly on all the wired connections not even touching the board in most cases. The reason why they are not breaking when you drop them is they do have them jamed in that little box so tight and foam prtocecting it pretty good.

I have never had problems with threads either and was surprised because I did not hear about it until i joined this forum and a bunch of people where complaining.

I havent seen that, but I can see why.
I looked at it with my head magnifyers, I have been a machinist for over 30 years. I can see the tool marks in the part looks like it is transfered from the die.

The threads have never seen a tool to be cut. I looked again and they are cast in from the die as well.

They use scrap junk metal...Kinda like the americans use to make old car ornimants out of. Some people call it white metal, or pot metal. Either way it is junk and it can't be welded or anything and breaks very easy. A good person can braze it back together.

I don't personally own an MVP but I talked my sister into buying one. It's a solid PV and I love using it. It would be nice if it had some more horsepower under the hood and the USB port should be relocated to the side so that it can stand up while charging.

By the time it comes out.. 50-100 watts will be the standard if you think about it. Entry level mod market just went from 15 to 30.

I love my MVP2 I have been vaping about 4 months, so I went from an ego to the itaste vv3 and I do have a smoktech winder I won for my vape story on the ashtray blog, and some spinners and a spinner 2. For some reason I like tne vw better than the vv, maybe its in my head but I seem to get a better taste. I would love to see the fire button on side or the top, as for the charging output, last month while in Florida, our 16 year old son had his battery die on his iphone, he was miserable walking around while we shopped, and had been texting his girlfirend back at home. I pulled out the mvp, and a cord and let him charge his phone, while mom switched to a spinner. He was in heaven! I was wishing I hadnt told him! I would like to see the charging port on the side, especially when in th car. As for 30 watts, can anone tell me what I would need that much for, since I am rathr new and dont drip, I really dont know why I need it.
Would love to know if I am missing out on something!
I just saw the sale thread where the shine can be bought for under 35, and am between it and the Groove 2, I love the box mods and have dropped mine a few times without problems, knock on wood! My daughter made the comment that I reminded her of a junkie recently when I couldnt find it. So what is the best way to charge the battey, right now I put mine on the charger almost every night. I have gotten more than 800 puffs and the battery went to 3.7. I chin vape. At first this thing was like a babies pacifier to me!
Anyone k ow how long til the 3 comes out?
