It depends on what kind of feed. Also, bear in mind, "neighbor" means something different here than it does to most of this country. The neighboring rancher where I get wheat and oats is 8 miles down a gravel road, which is where I went today. Cracked corn? That's a feed store in Faith, 27 miles away. Alfalfa pellets, BOSS (my acronym for black oiled sunflower seeds), beet pulp shreds, and oyster shell I get at Dakota Mill & Grain in Belle Fourche, 75 miles away. Large flake pine shavings (for stall floors) is Runnings, also Belle Fourche, but 77 miles away, unless they are out. in which case I try Runnings in Rapid City, 100 miles away.... It goes on and on and on.... :)
Wow, I'm glad I didn't get into farming.....:D

Snicker... and this is a "hobby farm." If I was real farmer (well, all my neighbors are ranchers; their primary "crop" is cattle). Some of them, like my friend Lyle, own 10,000 acres, and in some of his fields he grows grains to feed his super high-priced Angus herds. I buy his leftovers. :) Those that don't grow supplementary crops, have it brought in by the truck load and stored in silos. I have a few bags of various items stacked around this place (out of the weather, of course). It is because I buy small quantities once a month that I have to do so much running around to get what I want at the most reasonable prices I can find. When I was a kid, I thought farming was a relatively cheap job that was just labor intensive. To be really successful at this, you (or your bank) has to invest hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. Lyle just got a new tractor that costs 4-5 times what my entire property is worth. Half a million for one damn tractor? It runs via satellite links, and the tools it pulls cost 100-200 thousands each. And he has dozens of tractors and several semi trucks and... and his is a "family" business. Since coming here, I have learned a lot and gained a whole new respect for the American Farmer/Rancher. And those damn Commies in Washington DC want to get rid of cow because they fart? I wonder what they think is in their Big Macs and who had to grow it for them. This huge strip of land, north to south east of the Rockies to over past the Mississippi feeds this entire country and I have never once heard a city dweller tell them "thank you." <OK, rant off> ;)

Well, the weather guessers fucked up big time again today. They have revised their forecast four times today and still didn't get it right. The low temp this morning was supposed to be 23, but it was 13. The high today was supposed to be 31 (or was it 33?) and it turned out to be 17 (16.8). They said the low for tonight would be 13 and it is already (as of 10:30 PM MST) down to 6.

There is 3-4" of white shit (on average) on the ground with drifts of about 8-9" and we were supposed to get only 1-2" max. Yeah, right.

When we have a real summer, they don't often fuck that up here either. It will be sunny and hot. How can you miss that one? But with rain every other day this year, they didn't get "summer" right either.

What I want to know about this "squid squad" is why "Americans" voted in all these radical foreigners? How stupid has society become?
Beyond me, no idea how they could POSSIBLY get elected....there has to be voter fraud involved, there can't be that many dumb son-of-a-bitches....can there?

The only one I checked out so far was that Cortez bitch, and she comes from a district where, apparently, everyone is an idiot. But now, most of those voters have expressed regret, but can't do anything until their next election. (maybe they are unaware they can recall her)

I contend that Bareass Obummer was NOT president (no matter what the damocraps called him). This country went 8 years without a legal president. His own grandmother claimed she was present at his birth and she had never left Kenya. The Hawaiian birth certificate was a fake. When he ran for the senate, he published a flyer wherein he claimed to be a Kenyan native. He never applied for US citizenship and is still using a stolen social security number. All that has been proven, so he was never legally a president here. He was pushed into office by Nancy Pelosi and her deep state cronies. He had one plan (backed financially by George Soros) and that was to destroy the USA.

Very likely.

The low this morning was 5 and then we made it all the way up to 36 ("all the way up to X" is generally only said by me during the coldest part of winter, like January and February) and the low tonight is supposed to be 23 (it is currently 26) with a high tomorrow in the 50s.

Nope, sure doesn't. Looks like we are going to have an early winter and, if it is anything like the resent past, winter will last all year.

Well, we did hit 55 today, so maybe they got part of it right. I haven't looked at the local guess all day. Back in a minute...

OK, tomorrow 56/20 snow at night
Sunday 23/4 snow all day
Monday 14/1 clear and freeze yer friggin' ass off day and night
Tuesday 32/23 with snow at night

Looks like Winter is here...

The really dumb thing is that there are still Robins residing on our property. Even in a "normal" year, they would be gone by now. The fact that they are still here, if you believe they have forecasting ability, suggests winter is not here yet.

Well they usually are a good sign the weather will be decent, but I don't recall ever seeing a Robin when it's close to zero....perhaps they are confused too?

I suspect everyone (people, birds, other critters) are confused lately. o_O The weather guessers certainly are. Note that I said yesterday that today's high was going to be 56. Actually, that forecast was for Faith, not my house. Faith's high today was actually 66 and ours was 64. Does that mean their guess that we will be sub-zero tomorrow night is also wrong? Up or down? Well, it is 36 here now and headed further down.

Yeah. I used Bob to finish moving cow shit in the corral and barn foyer and leveling out the whole area so we can use the wheelbarrow to take out the daily dumps. Because Lannie was busy baking bread and other household chores, I couldn't move it to the normal compost pile, so I made a large shit pile in the cow corral and will move that, along with the new shit from this winter, next summer. I also made and installed a new skirt for the cow barn door. Hopefully, that will prevent snow drifts getting under that door this winter.

Did you get your new metal detector?

Yeah... Nitrosodimethylamine BTW, can cause cancer (1st and 3rd posts). And "tainted with sildenafil" in the 2nd one... someone added Viagra to an "all-natural libido" product?

I only buy nic from Nude Nicotine, I like their products, which have lasted 5-yrs in the freezer, no sign of deterioration.

Kratom - "Beaufort Kratom" or Mystic Island Kratom"...I just bought two kilos from Mystic this evening.
