Squonkers are Bonkers

Wicked up a Royal hunter to see if I liked it before I put thought into making it a squonk and it’s a good little dripper. I have a plan for making it an rsa that involves a drill and the right squonk pin. Now I just have to search through fasttech for squonk pin candidates and wait for them to arrive.

Pop the hole through just below the edge of the T section and the BF pin of a Tobbeco Velocity Mini works perfectly.

I am picking up some of this tomorrow;

https://www.jbweld.com/collections/wet/products/waterweld-epoxy-putty

Big thanks to @TrollDragon for the JB Weld tip.

I used it to fix a hole in a drain pipe I put a screw through a few years ago. Hasn't leaked a drop since.

I'll post up once I attempt the repair.
You are most welcome!

Let us know how that stuff works out, I've only ever used the Regular or Kwik versions.
My Luxotic is leak free and I have no qualms about putting the JB Weld to it if need be. ;)

I just need to bring in one of those ultem colored honeycomb doors a couple of silicone bottles for mine.

Going to force myself to live without the Luxotic for a couple of days and go ahead and do the fix tomorrow before it starts leaking on me.

If that pin is the same as the one that fits the Tobecco Velocity v1 clone, and the authentic Velocity v1, it is an M2.5 thread.

I got my M2.5 and M3 squonk pins from ModMaker in the UK in order to retrofit my Velocity v1 and my Goon v1 for squonking.

Todd's video of switching the tubes on the furyan

Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I saw that yesterday on his FB page...I do like the SS version very much...enough that I'm considering getting one when they release the SS versions.

Upside if you will... Todd releases his videos a day early on FB...and many live videos not on YT ;)

18 items in your cart! DANG! I'm guilty of the same thing lol.... I add, add, add, wait for the 15% discount codes, remove some items I changed my mind on and order.

GearBest has these listed also, which I posted in the BB thread with a ship date in a few days...probably not the case ( Ship day )

I do like the black and stainless myself. On a spending hiatus right now which is good. But damn it's tough. Between new squonks and shopping for panels for a rev 4. I've got 28 days.

Thing is I wanted an allen-key hex drive BF pin, and most aftermarket BF pins that I've seen are slotted all the way across, which does not provide a complete seal against the 510 of the mod, and therefore can leak juice into the mod's 510 area, and possibly inside the mod itself.

For a mech squonker, maybe this is no bog deal save for the occasional mess, but anything with a chip in it, the juice can kill the chip if not insulated/isolated well enough.

The only ones I found that fit the criteria 6 months ago when I was searching, were from ModMaker in the UK, who has a 3-pack of M2.5 and 3-pack of M3 hex-drive BF pins and each 3-pack was only a few dollars, shipping cost is more than the pins, but I received them in 9 days to NJ USA from the UK and was happy with that.

50 Basic RDAs will be going up for sale on Monday in the Squonk Merica Group on FB.

If anyone here without an account would like one PM me and we can work out the details. $89ish dollars shipped to me I believe. Then I ship to you at your expense. I think the max I can get is two.

I won't even open it I swear! I'll just slap a shipping label on it and send it on over the next day.

I'm not in the running for one of these, but I wanted to both recognize and thank you for your kindness in offering to do this for other folks.

Kudos to you! :)

Made another broscience Vapes purchase tonight...picked up the Modmaker 510 tool kit and also grabbed the large silver 510 contact so I can see how it might fit in a custom build.

Spent all day with the pulse getting aquatinted. It’s a little bulkier than I thought it would be but has a good hand feel to it. I’m not sure how I feel about the refill bottle yet but taking the bottle out to refill seems like it would be more of a pain than removing the atty. I haven’t updated the firmware yet. I’ll get around to that sometime tomorrow. I don’t like that it picks the wattage for me when I put on a new rsa. Always a bit too high for my vape style. Overall I think this will probably be my everyday regulated.

No begging. A Google doc went up on Squonk Merica and I got a notification. They had 50 to sell and the doc was up for almost 24 hours. I filled it out very calmly, paid via PayPal a few days later, and in a few weeks I had a new Basic 1.1.

I didn't have to X1 or make a randomizer list. I know the letters F and B are triggers for some here. Everyone just calm your tits lol.

Super light weight and the boost feature in the new firmware update gives me my perfect vape :)

also for @Papachaz ...

RE: the Vandy Vape Pulse 80w

Folks on reddit /ecr have been reporting that the 0.0.6 version firmware update has issues, several threads about it you may want to search for and read.

Most notably that TC is STILL not fixed and is even worse after the update, and something about power mode (watts) initially firing way above your setting, even if pre-heat is disabled (they call it BOOST) and even if you have the power curve disabled or are using a mode that does not have the power curve configured.

Due to these issues, many folks are downgrading back to the stock or 0.0.5 version of the firmware and then waiting for the NEXT update to see how it goes.

I'd just type in your search bar for parental controls. Something should pop up. No pun intended.

I agree with you, but I want to try.

You might look at Dan's Guardian although it seems to be only Unix/Linux
type of software. You can of course get simple to configure tool
programs that will run in Windows to let you use Unix/Linux type of
software. Another option might trying the search term "W/web filter
providing true content filtering" removing the quotes.

Also agree with @DogMan, teach a child that porn is fantasy and not all
of it is anything near real. Then, I'm not fathering or being daddy to
human children. If I were I would read the old unabridged Brother's
Grimm fairy tales to them as nightmare food, erm gentle sleep well
bedtime stories.

My human children would know monsters exist and monsters don't always
look like Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolves, Minotaurs, Ghouls, Goblins,
Mummies. They would also read Aesop's Fables as well, give them a good
balance of practical knowledge.

Might also want to look around at POWDER. See if you can locate content filtering software based upon that protocol. W3C did have the PICS protocol at one time which brought content description, rating for parental control among other uses. These folks seem top notch at working out such issues, after all they kind of created the Web in a way and help steward it. Would figure POWDER picking up and exceeding what PICS was doing.

Also found this listing. Not going to suggest any product they list, nor am I not saying they all eat toe jam. Frankly, I do not know any of the products. My mom let all of her three boys access the Internet/Web without much thought to filter anything. She though had taught us about a lot by then. we knew to be respectful, knew if someone was a wacko we avoided talking and told her. I look at more porn now as an adult than I ever did as a kid, and really not sure why. Go in fits with it, look for a while then go months without looking.

Even if you put some gatekeeper programs on the computer (Net Nanny Spectre, etc), or restrict the browser itself or within the operating itself, he can still boot up from either a CD/DVD or thumb drive into a LIVE version of Linux and nothing you did will matter.

If you go a step further and try to block the 1M+ (porn or other) domains by using a blacklist on your router, or calling your ISP to do it for you, he can still boot the computer from a LIVE version of Linux, or use a VPN or TOR from his phone or tablet.

There are also 'easter eggs' in gaming consoles, PS4 and XBOX to bypass any technical thing you try to do, and yes even from an Apple TV or Roku box, one can easily view porn, are you going to block those devices too?

Maybe the ONLY way to reduce his exposure to porn at home, is to have the computer he uses out in the living room, and where you can see the screen, and forbid cel phone and tablet use in the bedroom and/or bathroom, but now you have a social/behavioral battle rather than a technical one....another option is to shut off your home router, effectively disabling the internet at home, but a smartphone or tablet with a data connection via cel phone service will still get online...

and no matter what you do, he will still get access from his friends...at the library, etc

I know all of this from work I'd done prior to my current job, and friends and family have been asking me for advice on these kinds of topics for over 20 yrs.

Kids can even see violent, gorey acts, like beheadings and savage beatings on YouTube, and that content is also near impossible to block, and they WILL see it eventually, even if not at home. When I was a teenager, everyone was passing around VHS copies of the 'Faces Of Death' movies, and you could watch it on video players at the school library (until the teachers found out) but the damage was done because of the hype, the tapes were passed around and it did not matter...the word was out...

Kids today are way smarter then when I was a teenager. (Read "Big Brother" and "Homeland" by Cory Doctorow for an eye into this world, but great stories to read anyway)

I had no trouble getting porn mags when I was like 13-14 yrs old, and I kept them hidden since I did not want my sisters to find them, but my mother did, and she told me that it 'was normal & healthy to be curious and nudity is natural, but remember that these are FANTASY pictures, and keep them away from your sisters, or else', and I obeyed, and never had any issues...nor did I become a predator or a pervert...

The only way to block access to unwelcome content is to have zero internet and zero tv, and home-school your kids and limit their access to the outside world (effectively raising them as hermits), but that may do more harm (to them as adults) than seeing some 'normal' or 'divergent' sex acts and extreme bloody violence at a very young age...

I do not judge and cannot tell folks how to run their household nor how to raise there kids. I am not a parent now (almost was a step-parent of 2 pre-teen boys), and parents have a tough job with lots of challenges today.

I wish you good luck, whatever you do. :)

Hey Hey...keep it relevant... at the end put like... and then I took a toot off my Pico Squeeze and life was good ;) lol

This is almost getting as bad as FB posts! :blah:

Yes coming from the king of off topic! lol
Apologies for the extreme tangent.

I felt obligated to share my own experience in the hope that it may help someone.

I will limit such discourse in the future here.

Difficult to do when I had my first computer at 7 yrs old and sometimes I just cannot stop the inner geek from taking over.

I will now take off the propeller beanie, and resume the Righteous Squonking Path...and geek out about all of that here in the future...

Again, sorry if my comment went too far astray.

Would anyone be interested in a 8.5/10 silver RSQ? Great little mod I used for work. Could throw in the Nixon 1.5 R(S)TA for a little extra. I have the original packaging and accessories.
Say $50 plus shipping?

What’s up bonkers. Trying to make myself vape different flavors, was on a one juice kick for 8 months and another for 4. Never been into any of the store bought custards as I find most overwhelming (too much flavor/sweetener)
Got some CAP V1 in the other day, just did a simple 8% with 6% LB coconut milk and loving it! Way more subtle and enjoyable, may have to try some custard recipes on here :)

For about 6 months the only 2 flavors that I vaped, which kept me off the smokes were Boomer (vanilla, custard, graham cracker crust) and Pina Collider (sweet pina colada, coconut, pineapple) both from Nuclear Vapes own Reactor Room line (they are local to me, and are the wonderful folks who got me into vaping and off smokes with the right starter kit and good, inexpensive juices).

After DIYing for a long time, I tried Redemption Gold (not too sweet custard cream with a hint of honey) from Bad Modder Fogger and that was heavenly, but had to stop since I was having issues due to my intolerance for PG.

Fond memories of both.
