The lunatic fringes are in control; the govt is infested; the many media are all owned by a few companies - and there are agendas in action to convert the whole show to something obscene.
I think the UK has it's own issues with immigration, courts, brexit, scotland, ireland, etc.. So far, vaping in the UK seems worlds saner than our puritans/loons. (Although, I did read the church-of-england is going nutso as well ;-)
I do think there are a large number of nitwits appointed and elected that only barely remember how the country was formed and why.
With the UK the biggest issues with vaping seems to be EU regulations and I think they were emboldened to do some stupid things off the back of the FDA line.
In the UK we are affected by virtue of the Related Products Regulations 2016 act, which was the vehicle for implementing the EU Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU)
Its all very stupid and ill thought through. I mean you've got 2ml tanks now thanks to those regulations. bottles containing nicotine no bigger than 10ml and no stronger than 20mg.
When you look at the intention of the regulations, most of the arguments for what they have actually imposed via them don't stack up. The rules undermine the intentions.
People say things like kids might drink the liquids - Well I don't see any requirement to sell things like window cleaner and bleach in bottles no bigger than 10ml! Require them to have secure caps and safety locks if we must legislate for stupidity of people not keeping dangerous things out of kids hands but be proportionate and sensible about it.
Its counterproductive - because of the regs I now have nic shots - so a kid gets hold of them and manages to open it they are gonna get 18mg, rather than the 3 or 6 they might have got before I had reason to buy them
The 2ml tank limit meant I've been wandering around with bottles on me when I'm out and about because I have to keep topping up, creating the risk I might drop one, or leave it somewhere.
The EU regs talk about wanting to see equipment providing consistency of doses, and yet now you have to stick your own shots in, I often get variable hits and an overwhelming blast of nicotine every now and then when I've just dumped a nic shot in a new bottle and started using it.
I understand that safety of its citizens is the first duty of government but the regs they brought in have created as many, if not more risks than they sought to eliminate/ reduce.
Not one person has been able to make a good argument for the regulations being the way they are now
