It went almost straight from winter to summer in a nano seconds. If its gonna hit 90's in early May then I am guessing its gonna be a brutal summer this year.

We've had a couple of days here that found us switching the thermostat over to air conditioning. The nice aspect to our thermostatic system is that it connects to forced air, central air and only works as needed.

We drop it to 70 F at night because we're in bed and can add blankets if needed. Most nights we've been half slung out from under the comforter topper we put over the top sheet. Still not acclimated to our upstairs staying a lot warmer than the downstairs.

Today, after 18:00 EST, I needed to bump us up to 75 F to let it cycle on heating a few times to knock the dreary chill of a rainy day off. We looked at a new show on History, Iron & Fire. Settling down now.

Got word a cousin had passed on, from mom's side. This cousin, she left a gaggle of human kids, grandkids and a husband that's now likely out looking for himself. Our parts of that family were not very close yet there was still kinship. Feel a bit saddened for them. *chuckles* They had wanted me to play baseball with the junior league of all the crazy notions. *grin* I was too old chronologically though. *chuckles* Sure I looked twelve but I was twenty something.

Yeah and likely an active hurricane season.

That's almost a keel hauling offense. Enough is enough. Not funny joking or daring Nature any more. Think about all the cats, dogs, pet ferrets, goats that have been lost to all these natural disasters. Yes, we lost people as well but I'm not as upset over them, for one thing people have advantages over other animals. A good number of people might have needed let go to help restore balance they might have help unsettle for another thing.

Can we(human kind) get back to living in and with nature a bit more. I am not going to say we as humans caused or did not cause anything with the natural cycles of our climates. Frankly, I do not know either way. Arguments for or against keep coming out weekly, all looking fine and all real valid seeming. What I do know though is human beings if given a choice are the only animal that would hunt for sport. It is rare you see that from any other animal species, if at all. I know that doesn't seem right to me.

We think we're outside of Nature. Pfft, we're just some carbon wrapped around some proteins. Still think water is using us symbiotic-ally to carry itself uphill. Yes, I think water is a living creature as well. Still, we have to let people rebuild, heal from the damages Nature has wrought out over the recent past. Don't mock Nature.

Excuse me need to go rack out. Starting to make sense/cents/scents/since and am sure that defies some Cosmic Law somewhere. Nitol, catch the zzzs.

Kinda give me a naughty librarian look

All that glasses have given me is indentations in my nose where they rest. And near-blindness when I take them off! At least, for anything nearer than the reach of my arms. I had to start wearing them when it became clear that my arms had grown too short. I think I was all of 38 or 39 at the time.

Indentations are from poorly fitting specs - I've worn glasses most of my life - yeah, I was that dork kid with cat eyes and a band strapped around the back of her head

Well hell, they're just drugstore cheaters, I don't expect a custom fit, just to be able to read things. :D The plan is that I'm finally going to get my eyes checked and get some REAL glasses, just as soon as the goddamn fed tax refund comes thru. They SAID 11 weeks for the Injured Spouse Form to be processed, but 11 wks was up on April 19, and still nada. Vulture bastards. Vulture unpunctual bastards, which is much worse!

My stupid delinquent student loan, from 1989. They just can't stand that 1) my husband never signed anything to do with that loan, 2) neither MI nor GA is a Community Property state, and 3) I am unemployed so they have nothing to garnish. So they keep trying to sequester HIS tax refund, and we keep filing the injured spouse form, in order to get the refund intact.

Student loan collectors are almost worse than the IRS

Which is exactly why I won't deal with them AT ALL. I do have a phone number for ECMC, the gov't org that administers the student loan program, and when I finally get enough $$$ freed up each month that I can depend on, I plan to call them directly and make payment arrangements -- which would have happened sometime in 2014 if I hadn't had that goddamned emergency appendectomy -- I"m STILL paying the goddamned surgeon!

Someone from ECMC had the absolute NERVE to call me and expect to talk to me, THE DAY AFTER THE SURGERY, when I was in bed with uncontrollable nausea. I told her I'd just had emergency surgery, was much too sick to talk to her silly ass, and that when I was finally able to talk sensibly, I'd be a lot more concerned with paying the various bills that resulted from that surgery -- yes, I got "charity" rates and a few dismissals, but it took 2 yrs to finish paying the hospital, and I still owe the damn surgeon $460 -- $20 a month is what I told them I could pay, and that if they sold the debt to a collector, i'd consider the debt paid and never pay another cent -- and since they were informed of this THREE TIMES IN WRITING, I would also inform the collector that they had been defrauded. That's another thing that will be attended to, if we ever get that motherfucking refund! And also getting our furnace/AC and ductwork checked/cleaned/serviced/whatever.

Dang Andria that's really sucky.
I got back from Fort Worth on Saturday evening. And then I became really ill. My left lung hurts so bad. So I finally went to the doctor yesterday. They did X-rays and I have emphysema and my left lung. I am up and getting ready for work I hope I can hang through the whole day cuz I'm out of sick days.

Well it's about 7:30 here and I'm still in terrible pain. I just needed to vent. I don't know how this can be considered mild when it's difficult to even suck any air up into my lungs

If it's that hard to breathe, you should really go to the hospital. Breathing is not optional.
