In the never ending quest for 'The Perfect Vape' and still fussing with the Wasp Nano...

Last night I put in a build of 4x twisted-slowly-till-it-breaks 32g SS316L, 3mm ID, 7 wraps spaced about 3mm apart, which when installed in the Wasp, on the Inbox v3 comes out to 0.61 Ohms.

On the DNA75, in TC mode, with TCR of 0.00111, and at 28w & 410F, it is a nice, warm flavorful vape, with plenty of clouds.

The big deal here for me is that this is a nice sweet spot, without the need for a drip tip since in TC mode, it's not getting too hot.
:stars2:

At 30w or greater the initial punch is unpleasant for me, and at 420F or greater also unpleasant.

Interestingly, the 32g wire in a single strand is ~0.2mm dia, so 4x of them, twisted is roughly about the same dia as 24g, if not a hair thicker, so the leads are easy to trap under the screw in the deck.

I'll try to post a photo later if there is interest.

In the description, the Coppervape NarDa comes with a BF pin. Given this is a Chinese site, I will wait until I get them and confirm the veracity of that description.

CV is usually pretty good about accurate descriptions - but there is always that one mistake...

Anyone getting the other without, it takes a 3mm squonk pin and it is a major PITA to squonkify

For me 30-35 watts is the upper limit of power for a Wasp.
I like a warm not hot vape.

Hopefully the CV version of the ChiNarDa doesn't whistle

Yes, 'warm' for me too.

I prefer cooler vape than most by what I read online.

I am seldom above 30w and 35w is typically the point of lesser returns for me...

...whereby there is more 'dry' heat than flavor and my lips feel burned, regardless of drip-tip used.

I tend to prefer wide-bore (6-7mm ID) 510s that are at least 10-12mm tall or narrow-bore 810s also the same length, similar to the drip-tip on the original Goon V1.

810s wider than that seem to be too diffused and lots of flavor is lost for me, even those that have a sort of funnel from the bottom, inner-I.D. out to the top edge...

It's great that there are so many options for drip tips, but with SO many choices, hard to know which ones you will like, until you eventually get to try a whole bunch.

In other news. I'm gonna get an SVB.
It'll take a while.
That's from the maker who does those fancy Pico sleeves, like this:

I decided instead to get one of his full mech squonkers.
View attachment 108852 View attachment 108853

They look kind of Reo-like, but made by a "fanatical finish artist". He will throw away a mod with a flaw in the 5th layer of powdercoat and start over...

Congrats! The photos don't do those mods justice, wait until you see it in your hand. Plus it's rock solid. I have a slimer almost ready on the present batch, figured my blues brothers could use a companion. Perhaps if I set them side by side at night, they'll breed powder coated Pico sleeves. ;)

Why yes, please do...
By request...

as offered here:
I'll try to post a photo later if there is interest.

Materials used: Native Wicks Platinum Blend cotton and Master Of Clouds 32g SS316L

Coil installed: 4x 32g SS316L, very tightly twisted, 7 widely-spaced wraps on 3mm ID, 0.60 Ohms

Another view of the coil, after about 24 hrs of use (keep in mind that this stuff is very springy and hard to keep both straight and wraps evenly spaced, so I had to defy my OCD and just roll with it, it vapes nice and flavor is great):

I'd never get to actually vape if I had to keep the spacing perf, lol

Can't figure out how the coil pornographers do it

I might try this with some 30 G in the next few days

@JuicyLucy
Yeah, when I first did spaced coils over a yr ago, I wrapped the wire in the grooves betw the threads of a screw, and even doing that, once the coil was installed in the atty and the screw removed, the wraps shifted anyway (so I stopped doing that), so most of the time now I just wrap them free-hand on a standard rod or screwdriver.

I usually have to 'let it go' unless I am 'very OCD particular' at the moment, and once the coil is screwed in the atty and while on the coiling rod, I can always tweak and space them after installation.

Also, after twisting the 4 strands in the drill, I could have torched the wire to remove some of the springy-ness, which might have helped with the wraps, but I was too lazy, and since it's SS316L, I did not want to overheat the wire and have it off-gas hexavalent chromium...

SS really can't take torching at all - low wattage pulsing at the most. Not like Kanthal, where a blowtorch is actually useful

I just use a coilmaster v3 and wrap the coil the pull it out on the rod and then push it back together and it springs back apart a bit for my spacing.
SS316L.

I usually do well, but there always seems to be one that is slightly cattawampus that I am too impatient to mess with

But as long as it pulses correctly I'm good

Who is this Todd reviewer? New to squonking and interested in squonk reviewers.

Todds Reviews - YouTube

He mainly reviews high end gear - but will do the occasional Wanko or Augvape type stuff. He is my personal top trusted reviewer though

Best way to watch reviews is without sound. Till they vape on it turn volume up so you can hear the AFC. Don't listen to opinions just see if it really is REVOLUTIONARY.

If anyone's looking for revolutionary I suggest you end the search. The new definition of revolutionary is being able to store your bf pin under the deck (great idea but still) or using a dt to restrict af (been done for a long time but for some reason people think it's new?) Idk maybe I'm just an ass but I don't see anyone really innovating.
@SteelDriver this isn't directed at you just sparked some thought when I read "revolutionary" I think you feel the same way witch is why it's all caps?
