Refugee, yes! Disgruntled, not really. Glad to be here, and will not return to the ECF. Things are much better here anyway, not just for the new gapers, but the vendors also. It is just a better environment all around.

I hope to convince some other members I know there to try it here, too.I loved ecf, learned a lot, met great vapers, enjoyed the DIY E-Liquid forum totally -- until the mods got heavy-handed with a pal for a petty reason.
I like it here - looks like a place I can relax and enjoy. And if I feel like vaping Mary Jane flavor, I won't even get a warning.

Not a refugee until someone from ECF spots this post and "Moves Me On" as I go by the same ID everywhere as I got no imagination.
I just love learning stuff and sometimes my research leads me there.
But I really hate the way most of them treat our beloved newbies.
Case in point, one of our new members came hear and stated when he he posted a question (most likely on ECF) asking if he could use a Tayfun on his SVD he was met with ridicule.
I have no use for that hateful BS.
If I recall, RBAs are for experienced vapors and pros. Not "Scrubs" (whatever the hell that means) and experienced vapors only.
But I just gotta ask these "Experienced Vapers" how they learned to work RBAs and RDA if they did not get help from a "Pro"?
I am very proud to say that I got one hell of a lot of help from very, very experienced vapors in my own vape quest from the time I picked up a 510 stick battery and a carto all the way to DNA powered mods and those dang RBAs and RDAs.
And I am more than happy to help others on their own vape quest.
I simply hate elitist!

I'm not really interested in trying it - doesn't get very good reviews. But using those two words will get you banned from ECF. I always wished I'd signed up there as Mary Jane Smith, just to watch the ensuing chaos.

Mix with a little Inawera Exotic Roots. Then you can vape the forest AND the forest floor. mmm!
Hello and yes I use ecf and enjoy it and have enjoyed and hopefully continue enjoying ecf along with this site.
Not had any issues there or here but I find Im spending more time here because the threads are smaller and less sub topics. I know that will change but being here at the beginning makes it easier to know where to start. Kinda, I dont know just rambling now.

Actually its kinda like vaping a bad fart in reality. Its horrible stuff. I actually went out back in the woods and dumped the rest of it so it wasnt anywhere near my house it was pretty rank.

Depends on how you mix it, and who makes it.
Sometimes it can be a good vape.
I haven't been banned from anywhere, but I get easily distracted and end up on sites by the shiny toys and good recipes.
I came here to find my friends. The ones that can talk about Voldemort without getting banned! 'Sup y'all?

I seems to me that ECF has a click of like 50 or 60 people who post regularly and 15,000 inactive members.
Like me. I joined, asked a few questions in the newbie section.
Quickly I learned it is much easier just to search for questions I had because they had most likely already been answered.
That way I didn't have to look at a dozen "what are you stupid or something" or "you MUST get a provari" posts in order to get one person nice enough to answer my question.
Then I left and didn't go back until I had another question that when I googled ECF was the top choice.
I dropped in every couple of months to look around for a hour or so. Often not even bothering to log in.
Now I am here!

Not a refugee, but I was cruising VJ's site and saw they banned his name and this site. Naturally, I had to come over here and check it out. I think that may backfire on them. It made me join this forum.
It was vaporjoes site that had a link to the ECF forums in the first place. I learned alot there over the past couple years but the moderators can over react at times.
I just hope this site is run as well as ECF and alot of good information comes out of it. Im not gonna bash them, b ut they can be a bit harsh with their rules.

Lots of info over at ECF to be sure.
But I really don't like to ask a question and be called out because I did not read post #9 out of 900 that was posted 5 months ago.

Registered as vendor at ECF and too afraid to post ANYWHERE. Be nice to take off the "business hat" and just chat as a vapor once in awhile. Rarely see posts from the vets I learned to vape from on there anymore either. But I do wonder why the few who do don't have to be listed as vendors????

I've heard that story from other people. Also, once you DO become a registered vendor, it is pretty much impossible to abide by their rules, because they make them up as they go along. Its kinda like dealing with Customs, no one employee has any clue what the actual rules are.

Hey, man! Chris was asking about you the other day, said you haven't been by in a while. Glad to see you're still around.
I've been a member of ECF since 2011 and have 71 posts… that place is cool for the For Sale/Trade section but the vibe is stuffy IMO. I like this place better but still post in the Dominus Mod Club over there.
I been off in my own little world.... LOL. Ive gotten so complacent in my vape gear and my DIY that I havent been to a Vape shop in weeks and weeks. Probably more like months.
Not so fast I say. VU is steering away from all that and has been well thought through. They just won't fit in. From what I've seen, the team has stamped their feet and you already know what you're signing up to. The only way an elitist or power hungry person will fit in is if vu members put up with it and make a place for them. I've seen all that behaviour before on Brit forums and moderators sitting quietly by - because the forums forget their roots, and they let the members self regulate. But I think vu's mods will stay on top of it, so long as they continue to steer it's members

Not really a refugee, but the more places to get info and make contacts the better. My other hobby is Vintage VWs and I am a member of several sites for that life long endeavor. Some have a much better vibe than others, some have that one piece of elusive technical data you need to complete a repair. I like having options and I am glad to see this place is of to a great start.

How on earth did they learn do do anything unless someone helped them!
And where do they get off on just being so freaking rude without the management cracking down on them?

This is a really nice place.
We are all adults here and act like them.
Except for me on occasion.
But all joking aside we tend to treat each other with respect.
And we treat our newer vapors as well with respect and genuine offers of help and assistance when asked for.

I did get my hand slapped once for posting something that belonged in the classies, but I still have several threads I visit with friends who all try to help each other. I, too, get so tired of the newbie bashing it just gets old. But I learned so much there when I first started vaping it was a great resource. I like to help others; I am no expert but I do have some experience and know mistakes I made that I would have done differently if I had known better.

Hi Thunderball, Just wanted to say hello to you. I joined up because I check Vapor Joes Daily Vaping Deals everyday and he posted about the chance to win a Provari if you signed up. Still haven't bought one yet (waiting for the V3). Thanks again for letting me try yours. We had the cable guy out yesterday doing some work and he noticed all my vape gear and asked lots of questions. I let his try out several of my juices as well as some different mechs and regulated mods. I then sent him to SteamCigs for further education. I hope he runs into you there. Marshbunny
