RACISM DESTROYED
I've heard it described as "nobody is born black, and nobody is born white"

We're TOLD we're black, white, etc.

Put a black kid and a white kid together in a room as infants. Let 'em grow up together. Without outside influence, I guarantee their will be no bigotry, no black/white issues. When asked what they are, they'll probably both say "friends".

Yeah, but then introduce them to someone who dresses funny, or listens to different music, or eats weird food, and you're back to square one. It's really not about human-to-human contact. It's about our primitive monkey brains throwing vestigial tribal instinct out into the world. There will always be some kind of racism/nationalism/religious animosity/etc. as long as humans fail to realize it's all about the tribal instincts of their primitive brains and choose not to see us and them.

This exactly. Humans are often described as "social animals," but the main reason for that tendency is for protection -- to belong to a group and not be a lone ranger. Apparently going solo terrifies most people. When you are part of a group, then it's absolutely human nature to think of "us and them" -- everyone who's not part of that group. Those who are not "like us" are automatically assumed to be a threat until proven otherwise. I'm not a racist person, but if I was walking down a street at night, and males of some other race than my own started following me or paying undue attention, I'd find it terrifying and intimidating, even if they did or said absolutely nothing. Course I'd probably feel much the same even if they were of my own race, just because they're male and I'm female, so maybe it's not racism at all, just self-protection against a bigger, stronger, and more aggressive animal.

If you don't want a job and are not going to DO your job why on earth would you apply and get hired in the first place. It makes no fucking sense at all.

Apparently that's par for the course at my husband's job. One guy that works with him back on the doc, I have personally seen leaving 5 mins early, every single time I pick my husband up from work -- on paydays when I have the truck to do the banking biz. My mate says the guy does it EVERY DAY, and also comes in 5 mins late every day. But, nothing is done about it, because their immediate supervisor is one of those guys who's dead certain he knows everything, and has to tell you all about it, and also stick his nose into and micromanage every process and procedure, so he's never actually on the dock when the guy shows up late and leaves early, he's off sharing his *vast knowledge* with someone else, entirely unrelated to what's happening on the dock. I think it's a clear sign of my husband's continuing growth as a person that he hasn't knocked that supervisor OFF the dock. With his forklift. :D

But this is probably why, since late 2014, my husband has received 3 raises -- he goes in early and stays till they don't need him, even if waiting for a truck to show up, and never ever says "it's not my job."

Everyone looks at things in their own way.

Nothing wrong with pride in your work. Nothing wrong with going the extra mile.

But compensation has to be part of the equation. Take what I do for example. I used to be just like your husband. Work my ass off and do a great job. Now, I still do a great job, but I will not kill myself for a JOB.

Thing is, an employer will use you for all they can, and in the end, you are just an employee. Unless they are willing to pay you to compensate the amount you pour in it, why go beyond what is necessary? You are only shorting yourself.

The guy who is late and leaving early everyday, still has a job and still gets paid well, to be a fuckoff.

I can put out 150-300% of rate. But they will not compensate me to go that extra mile. So, they get 100% of rate, and nothing more. I get paid the same, and I do not have to worry about the abuse to my body.

Well, he IS compensated -- he was the first to get OT hrs back, and the only one to get THREE raises. :) And when times get tough, the company fires all the deadwood first, before they do anything else, like put the actual workers on short hours. So now, the company is doing well, the slacker has a job... but if the economy goes south again... I wouldn't put any money on that guy still having a job.

LOL, you wouldn't think so if you knew the situation. Guy does not stop eating, all day long. Breakfast is 9-12. Lunch, which he doesn't pay for, is at 1, and if it's a second late the complaints start. Lunch is an hour straight, followed by a half hour bathroom break, then it's snack time from 2:30-5. And if he runs out? If I have lunch in the fridge, it's fair game to him. Nothing you can do once it's eaten right? Four guys in the office, it's not hard to figure out, especially when you find your lunch leavings in the bin under his desk.

This will be way better than the Ex-Lax brownies lunch bag. I can leave the crudites there for days in that tempting box. :D

Jeebus, sounds like a good candidate for a FEED BAG. Or maybe an Office Trough, where everyone can put leftovers, banana skins, the hard ends of their microwave burritos, dismembered administrators...

Don't think it hasn't been thought of. The worst are the noises, trough is an apt description from the sounds.

His wife confirmed he has 4 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, two slices of toast, and two glasses of OJ before leaving (we asked, doesn't he eat before he leaves? That's what she makes him). He then buys a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, two doughnuts, a quart of OJ, a bag of crunchy Cheetos, 2 liters of Diet Coke (I know, right?), a bag of Swedish fish, and a packet of cookies, every morning at the deli (and god forbid they're out of something, we hear about it all day). Lunch is a 3lb plate of grilled chicken and vegetables, every day. Then it's back off to the deli for the snacks, usually various twinkies, chips, candy bars, or the occasional bag of nuts. You can't maintain 300lb+ by eating normal portions at reasonable intervals.

He's building something... I think he's working on completely removing his ring finger since his wedding ring is permanently embedded in his flesh. Or many he wants the Guinness World record for broken office chairs. They're like ticking time bombs while he's sitting on them. I think he up to 4 or 5 now.

WOW... Got this email from one of my favorite JOOZE VENDOR..
daee41f8ebf3a4b30e5d59dcd623a375.jpg

It's time to say goodbye.
This decision has been a hard one. Whether you tried our products during a sale or almost exclusively purchased from us, I appreciate each and every one of you.

Many things have led me to make this choice - I recently moved to another state and had to condense a lot in the move. I no longer have access to a clean room and a majority of my production materials. My credit card processor stopped allowing me to take payments online, coincidentally right around August 8th (see here for more details), even after calling them repeatedly and either being hung up on or transferred to someone's voicemail that never calls back.

The fact that the FDA has recklessly assumed power over the vaping industry would have also put us out of business in the long run, as most eliquid companies like us cannot afford extravagant application and registration fees for every single flavor we produce.

This is the saddest subscriber email I've ever personally written, as I must close Hat Trick Vapor for the foreseeable future. The site will shut down today. I can't begin to describe how thankful I am that we came this far - and it's all because of you folks. We all have some serious challenges ahead, vapers. Stay vigilant.

Hat Trick Vapor Signing Out Here. We'll miss ya!

I really don't understand this. At worst, they have two years to accumulate as much wealth out of their company as they can by increasing volume through discounting, also gaining them time to find another avenue for recovering the lost income post that two year deadline. Best case, the FDA's attempt to crush the industry is thwarted or, at the very least, they can still sell their product at 0nic to inventive vapers.

300 that he'll admit to. Actually, he says he's 280. But he's 6'2", and about as large as your largish NFL center, just more fluffy. I really would guess probably somewhere in the 350 range since he's breaking "heavy duty" office chairs rated at 300lbs just by sitting on them over time. If it were up to me, I'd make his office furniture BYO.

My son had a friend who, at the age of 14, topped 300 lbs. He broke one of our chairs, and after that, when he started to sit in our recliner, he was told he must sit on the sofa. It was a huge sofabed thing, which I figured would be pretty hard to break -- and I was right, he never managed to break it.

The guy you work with... I can only surmise that he must be a terribly unhappy person, and is trying to "eat his feelings" -- or else he has a tapeworm.

Not really, but I see the same people bash other people for being overweight. as in at least once lr twice a week. Like if someone is a few extra pounds it bothers them for some unknown reason,
Kinda sick of the same shit from the same people. Then again, they just acting out because they are miserable with themselves.

I am a big mofo, starting to get the dumlop stage and on the way to fluffy.
Easier to eat lean and manage portions if I do allow myself to cheat.

If he is taking your food.. and if he cannot abide spices time to pick up some capsium extract and ghost peppers.
I loaded some salsa and chili up with about 2.5 million SHU. It had a creep of about 5 minutes.
I watched him walk back and waited for the sniveling and crying to begin. Oddly did not hear anything and noticed the bathroom was in use. The wimpering crying and he bitching that fat thief was EPIC.

He got cleaned up as much as possible and someone called the amberlamps... as they were carting his worthless sack of fuck out on a gurney the manager walked up to him and said "hey buddy you doing ok? Good cause you are fucking fired!"

I'm not a small person by any means. I was once upon time, its not for lack of trying, typical thing that happens when a guy who curls 180 and benches 350, stops running,
Bottom line is: it's no ones place to judge anothers happiness based on the number spat out by scale. Only thing that comments liken that show is their own ignorance, and incessant self loathing.
