I don't see a Hangsen thread here. If there is already one lmk?

Just got about 8 small bottles of Hangsen flavors. Mainly tobacco. I'll post my last here later.

Will prob mix a few samples tmwr or Monday.

Any other Hangen users?

I have some I like. The Apple Mix aka Apple Cinnamon Cranberry is a nice mulled cider at 5%. I like the Gold & Silver tobacco but some of them are too sweet even for me by themselves.

I got a bunch of Hangsen flavors a long time ago, and I didn't like any of them. It was mostly fruits, butterscotch, chocolate, my usual flavors. A couple (peanut butter and choc cream) were so foul I swore I'd never touch anything else Hangsen, ever again.

But lately I've tried some of their tobaccos, and I do like most of them. I liked TAB enough to try a couple more, then RY1 enough to order Highway, USA Red, Congress, and Indian. When those last 4 arrive, I'll post my impressions as I try them, if anyone's interested. If I like these, I'll look at the others I considered: Flue Cured, Desert Ship, Arabic, and Virginia.

There are 2 more commercial tobacco flavors I want to duplicate (for myself), and Hangsen is leading me in that direction. Once I have those, I will be confident I'm not "missing out" by DIYing.

Sorry for being so closed minded.

I just don't trust Chinese E-Liquids without a full lab report from somewhere in the USA.

Cadmium in paint on toddlers toys.

Tainted Baby Formula?

Condoms that break? (that has been reported as well).

No thanks.

Call me the official VU Liquid Sissy if you feel the need.

But thank you NO!

Tobacco was my main reason for looking into their flavors.
I'm married to my energy drink ADV but still enjoy a tobacco vape
desperately seeking -- mild, not too sweet, not too much of a throat hit :p

I stopped smoking using a flavor called 777 from a local B&M shop
I'm thinking one of the tobacco flavors from Hangsen -- whether single or a combo of their tobaccos will prob come close to that 777 or my own version of.. I'm setting out to find at least 2 - 3 diff tobacco's mixes I can make to add to the rotation.

I have FA desert ship - curious how the Hangsen compares
Mild 7 is another I look forward to trying or mixing with others

good luck HIC!

Not "closed minded" at all, UncleRJ. You are right about Hangsen's lack of ingredient and testing information, and it's good to have that pointed out.

I hate any tobacco flavor that reminds me of a cigar and prefer the sweeter tobacco flavors , i look forward to your takes on the Hangsen stuff and think your reviews of the FA flavors and other brands like TFA are very helpful and informative.

Keep up the great work.

I bought a mish mash of vendors when I first started out. I have Orange and Juicy Peach that I like. Chocolate Cream (it is?) and Lemon (Pledge) I didn't care for at all. Boyfriend really enjoyed the Turkish, but has recently switched to a different company ;)

ETA: Plum. I really do like that one!

I'm not even sure they make the flavorings in China. It says on the website their e-liquids are made from French flavorings but it doesn't say about the actual DIY flavorings. I'd assume they are the same as their e-liquids but you know how assuming goes. Having seen videos of the HS labs, I have no worries about the flavorings anyway. I wouldn't touch Dekang though.

Hangsen has the best tobacco flavors I've ever tried. They do their own extraction process. I'm looking forward to tasting the RY6 now available on fasttech. http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004420/1875616-hangsen-e-liquid-for-electronic-cigarettes-30ml

those are ready made juices..
I never cared for anything hangsen and dekang I wouldn't even put that stuff on my weeds out in my yard.
i tried flavors from all of their categories, back when I first started mixing..
I ended up giving them away..

I find on tobacco's, vapingzone and http://www.myvapejuice.com is the best..
if I am too lazy to make my own cigar and high leaf tobacco extracts..

Heh, heh... Sorry, it was me! :)

You should definitely try the Hangsen Desert Ship. It's quite good and arguably one of Hangsen's best. Much more realist flavor than the FA version.

Closest to 777's (that I've tasted) is likely either Highway, Number 5, or Tab Blend - and all are good choices. Highway might be "nuttiest" but not extreme. If you're after that taste may want to add AP. Tab Blend is quite popular.

:) I hope they get some in. I ordered from ecx but waiting to order Hangsen from bull city. I hope they can keep Hangsen stocked. I really wanted to try the gold n silver.

Yeah, haven't counted but maybe ~40-50 Hangsen tobaccos. :)

Just FYI, RTS is my other preferred supplier on Hangsen tobaccos. They rebottle (like ecx) but package to glass -- and haven't had an issue with a weak flavor. BuyHansen sells factory packaged flavors and recommended by another (though I have no experience).

Good to know about Desert ship. I have mixed with the FA version -- will try the Hangsen.

Is no. 5 like most labeled 555?

Will add Tab to list. Sounds exciting! Thank you!

I ordered just recently from buyhangsen. Super fast shipping from NJ to north of ATL. all sealed good.

It was my first order of hangsen so no experience to say if flavors were weak or normal. They all smell good. Coloring looks right.

I'll order from them again

Hangsen used to have a 555 (which I understand was quite nutty) that apparently has been discontinued or replaced by Highway (which is well balanced). I might call Number 5 a cross-over combines some of the Highway's nutty character with the fresh-cut hay flavor found in Hangsen Delux Tobacco (e.g. characteristic taste also found in TFA's American Red). I'm not crazy about latter but my recollection is that Number 5 strikes a very nice balance. I'll vape a bit and report back...

Addendum: Nope, only found an empty 15ml bottle labeled "No.5" in my tray to remix. You would not be disappointed.

Has anyone tried "bold" by Hangsen? I see it at bull city but sold out.

On my desk for test vape tomorrow -- need to rewick. Has a slightly "fruity and tangy" smell but can't put my finger on yet. Seems to have promise.

Buyhangsen.com is awesome. Desert Ship is awesome. Tab Blended is awesome. Hangsen's RY4 is my number one of that variety. All of their tobaccos are superior to any tobacco flavorings I've bought from anywhere. Never got into their fruits, though I hear the Juicy Peach is one of the best. I do have a bottle of the Greengage Plum coming in with my next order of DS and RY4, though. Sounded too tasty to pass up!

@retrox if any you've gotten from buyhangsen.com are "essence" tobaccos, can you give a ball-park percentage you use when mixing them? Just ballpark...

anyone else, I'd appreciate any rough percentages you use for any of the Hangsen tobacco essence flavorings. They seem incredibly weak to me.

@glassgrl and @Artemis , are those 'essence' tobacco flavors for sure? I use their TAB, one just called 'tobacco' and RY1 flavoring at 5% or less, but their essence tobaccos seem entirely different and very weak to me.

HIC I use 5-7% using 70/30-80/20 base.

'Essence' is just the term Hangsen uses to to distinguish their flavors from eliquids. And that's the generally recommended strength (though my default is 8%). They are quite viscous compared to other flavorings, so may need extra thinning -- and more mixing. I generally mix and then allow to sit for 1-2 days.

Let me know what you think. I know I want to try Gold n Silver but thought Bold might be good.

I like the Gold and Silver but it is fairly sweet, and thus an occasional i.e. weekly vape for me. The Bold has a similar flavor profile but more intensely sweet -- too sweet for my taste. Others I like include British, Arabic, Indian, CO, DE, No. 5, Red USA, RY1, RY3, Tab, Highway.

Yes, I have been using Hangsen since the flavoring were introduced in this country. However, I am going to start buying from bull city. I have been purchasing from ecx. However, my last order of USA was extremely weak. It was disappointing . I believe it was nothing more than a carrier base. No flavor at all. I'm thinking a bad batch, old flavoring, or thinned down..I had another bottle of the same flavoring. It was darker and tasted like it should. I don't know if this is a vendor thing or a problem with the manufacturer.

I had this same experience with IW Burley from ecx i.e. virtually no odor/flavor. Contacted them by phone and they checked said this was true of all stock. But no return/no exchange on flavors. Don't know but latter didn't make me happy. That and glass bottles caused me to switch to RTS. Never had any issue with their products. However, did have same experience on TFA Black and Mild from Wizard Labs; mixed all the way to 15% with minimal taste. They called and then resent different vial by request -- but same result. Still don't know if TFA's Black and Mild is just extremely mild -- or if I got bad batch. I'm always tempted to rebuy elsewhere. Currently buy Hangsen from Bull City and RTS.

BTW, some I have not tried include "Tobacco", Hotel, Churchill, Palm, Cigar, Cuban, Canadian, UK, CN and TU. Thoughts on any of these? In particular I was eying "Tobacco" and Canadian.

Like they said, it's just the name they use. It does depend on where you get it too I think. People have been having problems with ECX Hangsen for awhile. I haven't bought any from Bull City, but I have from RTS and BuyHangsen with zero problems even though one is rebottled and one is not.

Artemis, G&S is one of my fav HS tobaccos. LoveVanilla, I have Palm. To me it's just another medium to light sweetish tobacco. Nothing really to differentiate it from any of their other ones of the same family.

@HeadInClouds 6% for Desert and Tab, 10% for RY4. I mix these 75/35 6mg for dripping and 50/50 10mg for tanks.

I rotate them so that I always have at least a 2-week steep on the bottle I'm using.

I always order from Buyhangsen to ensure the flavoring is as "factory fresh" as possible.

That Hangsen "tobacco" reminds me a lot of their TAB. Both are agreeable to me; I prefer straight cig-like flavors (not pipe or cigar flavors, nothing too wild, nothing food-like).

I have that same one, and found it's okay vaped straight. Yep, 100% flavoring. I also wonder if Hangsen quality/consistency of strength is just a wild shot in the dark.

Thanks glassrl. Have following on the way to try:

Classic Smooth Leaf-INW
Cuban Supreme-FA
RY4-FA
Smoke & Prunes WG-INW
Black Jack Tobacco WG-INW

Wanted to try HG Canadian but Artemis cleaned the shelf at BullDity. ;) Classic Smooth Leaf was twice price of others. Hope it is worthwhile.

100% flavoring!? Wow, that is almost stunning.

Just had to straighten out my own confusion; there are two different essences, "USA Mix" and "Red USA". Red USA is what I have and is quite good and full flavored. Essence has medium-dark caramel colored. Purchased from Bull City.

Mine is an original Hansen bottle that says "Red USA Mix" and in red letter "essence". It's not rebottled. It is pretty dark and thick.

Stunning, yeah, when you consider my usual mixes! I have a FA tobacco mix right now, total 1.5% flavoring (1% Virginia, .5% Burley, .25 Black Fire and .25 Desert Ship), and it's stronger than any of the Hangsen essence are when vaped at 100%. Weird, huh? EDIT: duh, that adds up to 2%..marvel at my arithmetic, lol

Particularly odd given your taste buds. Do you see production and expiration dates printed on the cap? Mine shows Prd date as 8/23/2014; what does your's show? Also on the bottom of the bottle is embossed a '1' and the letters 'HS'.

But yes, FA tobacco are more concentrated flavors. Tab Blend has always been a mild flavor to me but not so much the Red. Maybe mix, put away for 4-7 days and then try -- could be vaper's tongue. Somebody has probably already proven but I have a pet theory there is a lot of variations in taste sensitivities both within and between individuals.

Regarding BullCity and their Hangsen flavors...I know they have been out of a few that I need so I went to recheck and they are out of stock of EVERY Hangsen flavor (pretty much clicked on them all)! I mean I purposefully checked even the most obscure flavor and nope. Going to go and email them and make sure they aren't dropping Hangsen for some reason.

The bottom of this bottle has embossed "HS" and "6" (what's the number for?) My other essences have "5" or "6"
The caps on all my essences say prd:08/23/2014 exp:08/22/2016.
I tried all of these several times, from 2% up to 50%, then tried them straight a few times since. It's been a few days...I'll try Congress straight again, in a little while.*

Yes, I am tasting them fresh-mixed. To me, tobaccos tend to mellow with age, but maybe that's the wrong strategy with these! I did mix a couple small bottles at 25% and put them away for a long steep...to try again later this month. Trying to research a starting percentage online I found everything from under 5% to 40%. I wonder if that's all "individual preference" or partly due to batch-to-batch variation.

If your Red and mine are from the same batch, and you cannot vape yours comfortably at 100%, I am obviously Hansen-essence-taste-impaired. I've never experienced this side of it before; I've always marveled how some others can't taste flavors that seem strong to me (like some FA fruits).

* just did this...Using the same tank/battery as I had my FA tobacco recipe in, loaded 100% Congress essence. I like the flavor fairly well; it's not harsh or especially strong to me like this. This one seems weakest of all to me. A drop from the bottle tastes mildly sweet, very lightly flavored. But then it's probably the mildest tobacco flavor of my bunch. It's about the color of maple syrup and pretty thick texture (all 4 are like that).

Now vaping Red USA Mix essence at 100%...I have used tobacco flavored disposables with various versions of M/Red/American flavors, and this at 100% is about the same flavor level - certainly not stronger than a White Cloud "regular" flavored Fling disposable.

Will try Indian again in a few minutes...
Ok - Indian Tobacco essence at 100%. This is a darker-tasting flavor I got specifically to see if it's like White Cloud's "Apache" flavor, thinking it would be good to mix with. I have a few of those disposables here. It's not the same flavor, but it's quite similar. Just-mixed Indian isn't as smooth as the disposable -- I'm sure this one changes with steeping -- but as for overall flavor strength, I think the disposable is a tad stronger. Most online reviews of this White Cloud flavor agree with my opinion that this is their strongest tobacco flavor. I could imagine being happy with "only" 75% or so flavoring with this one. Or I could use it at 25% for a background note with 1-1.5% FA tobacco flavorings.

I have Highway next...be right back. (decided to skip it; just not a favorite of mine).

So now I loaded my own mix from yesterday (2% total FA flavoring, mostly Virginia). It's at least as strong definitely stronger than those Hangsen at 100%. I know FA has stronger flavorings, but 50 times stronger?

I have a dozen or so tanks loaded with various non-tobacco flavors, so took some puffs of those. They all come through loud and clear as usual, even a simple 0.75% FA Vienna Cream.

Maybe I'm a freak of nature!

Sounds like you have genuine (or we 're both sourced from the same counterfeiter ;)). Seems to me little doubt you've overloaded your taste receptors; remember reading these take about a 4-10 days to regrow. Also, if you mix with syringes you likely noticed that Hangsen* is thick -- very thick. So while I shake and vape FA, I think the diffusion is much slower with Hangsen (at least with max vg). I've noticed distinct differences in taste after one day, and more so after two. Low heat would probably speed the process.

I suggest mixing around 6% and then putting the flavor away to try again in a week or two.

* i.e. HG's tobaccos.

I think this is the reason I did not like the hangsen's..
they are just way too light for me.. I get more use from vz, tfa and fa..
if I want stronger, to do a self extract for a couple months is easier. :/

sad thing is I hear from everyone else that hangsen has the best..
I just dont get it either..

on a few of HIC's recipes.. I do double up.. some are just too light..
there are a few that I don't have to.. but i haven't tried them all..

I dont think its a taste issue.. if HIC can taste other mixes non hangsen..

...also some other Hangsen, like RY1, Tab Blended, and one just called 'tobacco'. Those were comfortable to me under 5%.

Had to dilute my latest FA tobacco mix down to 1%; 2% was kicking my a$$, but it's just right for me now.
You'd all laugh at the (fraction of one) percents I use for some Chinese tobacco flavorings.

I already had some 25% Hangsen essence bottles mixed to age. I just made some others at 6%, like others here have suggested. I'll let them all steep until Halloween and see if they're frightfully delicious then.

Scientific American had an article titled "Making Sense of Taste", by David V. Smith and Robert F. Margolskee, that updates with current knowledge and gives a framework for understanding. Certainly worth a read if you can get in hand. Checked but appears spouse recycled mine and subscription does not include access online.

But yes, certainly feasible to lose selected taste receptors without others being affected. I noted this with massive TFA overflavoring using ECF recipes. Hopefully not too frightening an experience. ;) And certainly yes that some Hangsens are milder than others. But try giving those receptors time to regenerate and then see if you can taste. Avoid anything above say 8% and wait a few days after mixing.

THANK YOU! I just ordered 5ml eliquids for lots of flavors I've wanted to try. That's the cheapest way I've ever seen to do it. And I got a couple flavorings to compare with the bath-water supposed-flavoring I got elsewhere recently. Finally, I can get this all figured out! Thanks much for the heads up!

I know. I don't think they were open much over a year. It's too bad since they have some flavorings previously not available in the states.

You're welcome HIC! I hope you get that figured out. Something had to have gone wrong somewhere along the liquid/flavoring supply line.
