Looking for a new rta and the Troll has caught my interest for a while along with the Avacado 24. Any advice on these or similar rta's?

Im currently using my tfv8 rba in my melo 300 and Merlin mini, fwiw.

Love my avocado 24. One of the best RDTA’s. Troll is ok, but always leaked when I filled it.

The Troll is an RTA and the Avocado is an RDTA. They are similar but very different.

I don't know if the rumors are true, but some people have claimed the peek insulator on the Troll RTA melted while dry burning coils. I've never had a problem with Wotofo products though, so I'm guessing they were glowing their coils insanely hot for way too long. Wotofo also claims to buy their peek insulators from Germany.

The Reload RTA is supposed to be am incredible tank. I've never gotten my hands on an original since they were like $80 but there are some decent clones out there (if that's you kinda thing). The Manta RTA looks like a great alternative to it though, I think I might be picking one up.

The Merlin Mini RTA you mentioned is great in single coil mode. I've used a buddies on a few occasions and really enjoyed it, but I can't speak on the duel coils.

The OBS Nano Engine is also great, esp if you want a single coil. I didn't like the other Engine versions as much though.

The Serpent SMM is an amazing single coil RTA if you like a slightly restricted drag.

A few more I've heard are good (but don't have first hand experience with) are the Voluna (duel), Centaur (single), and Boreas V2 (thinking about picking this one up as well.

I ordered a Serpent smm. Im more of a dual coil guy, but the serpent may change my mind.

I love mine but stopped using it for awhile. I rebuilt it last night and it has me wondering why I ever put it down... Spaced coil and graciously thinned wick tails is the best setup I've found for it.

Im liking it so far, although it is a little restrictive and noisy (but not to bad). Using a clapton .44 ohm at 53 watts.

Try spacing your coil on your next build, even just a little. I got better flavor that way from mine.

I really like my Troll rta. Running .25ohm single wrap nichrome on it at 45 watts. I’ve never had a problem with it leaking even when filling it. Flavor is good and cloud production is good also. The only cons for me are the small juice capacity and how quickly it goes through the juice.

I bought the Troll RTA when it was released, and I still use it daily and love it! I usually prefer single coil attys for flavor, but the Troll gives excellent flavor too. I've heard people mention melting the insulator in the middle, but honestly don't believe that's very common. I always glow my coils when changing cotton, but have never come close to melting it, or even worrying about melting it. I suppose it could be done if I really wanted to, but don't see it happening accidentally. I don't think anyone who has at least a 5th grade intelligence will melt their Troll. Just my opinion, of course

Thanks for the replies. Im not loiking the serpent smm and basically feel I wasted the $ on it. Very well may try the Troll like my gut was telling me.

What do ya not like about the SMM?

If you want a duel coil and your mod can handle a 25mm, def get the Wotofo Bravo tank. Doubt They will even continue to make the Troll. (Is my Wotofo fan-boy showing? lol)
