Hmm.
Glad I like a just warm vape and about 35 watts is as high as I vape.
Mostly at around 16-25 watts.

Tried hotter vapes in the past and yes did not like the feeling I got in the roof of my mouth.

I have no idea how hot a juul vapes though?
And maybe associated with nic salts?

But yes we do not yet know the long term effects of vaping and some methods and ejuice contents may pose more risk than others.
Vaping cannot be totally risk free.

At this point I am still convinced that reasonable vaping is far safer than smoking.

it has nothing to do with Juul.
the girl likely has HPV

the heat comment is just stupid because obviously there isn't the same kind of heat coming off of vapor that's coming off of a burning cigarette.

Plus who the fuck writes up an entire fucking article and TV spot over a "woman's testimonial on twitter"???
that's just dumb to start with.

then this:

"The lack of odor the Juul leaves also makes it harder for a dentist to identify if they spot abnormalities in a patient’s mouth."

so now dentists are somehow afraid to ask a patient what's going on if they see an abnormality?
I call bullshit to that.

There is no tar and no carbon monoxide.

they have nothing but lies and half truths.

Doctors used to advertise that smoking was good for you too.
In my lifetime....

I will keep an open mind about an possible bad effects associated with vaping but remain convinced that it is much safer than smoking.
And have NO plans at this time to quit vaping.

In my experience vapor is hotter than smoking a cig if you vape hot.
And I direct inhaled cigs in short order.
The tobacco and filter behind the flame/ember cooled the smoke.

“I have been Juling for 2 years and now I have pre oral cancer. So stop juuling kids lol”

That is the Tweet

Who says LOL about pre cancer -

Also, it is well established that nicotine isn't cancerous, even from Tobacco

What a bunch of retards

Sure, some people vape extra hot

Not this time though.
it's a Juul.
they are temp controlled so it's only going to get so hot.
not hot enough to burn holes in someones mouth.

The scary part about this is if you tell the dentist you vape they may overlook a problem that isn't caused by vaping.

Just like smokers get mis diagnosed with an "oh, it's because you smoke" vapers may get "it's because you vape" even when it isn't.

The part where they suggest to stop vaping for two weeks to see if that is the problem is the only smart thing in the entire story.

I have to wonder a bit about the Benzoic acid.
Somewhat nasty stuff, known to irritate and such.
Definite eye damage risk.

Nic no worries from here though.
NOT a carcinogen and basically like caffeine on the human body.

I just keep an open mind on possible vaping risks.
Because I am convinced that it cannot be totally risk free.

And I personally know how some ingredients in flavorings very negatively impacts me.
would put me in the emergency room if I kept up vaping the offending flavorings.
And I have NO known allergies, heck I can weed eat posion ivy with no ill effects.
But only if I vape the offending flavorings. If I ingest them no issues.

I can eat peanuts fine but they will kill some people.
Point is not all people react to vaping the same way.
Not everyone who smokes will get or die from lung cancer.

My perspective on the risks involved with vaping is different from most because of my severe reactions to some ingredients in many commercial ejuices and most flavorings that I have tried in DIY.
Those who have not experienced this will not understand.

I have a strange feeling that Benzoic acid makes eliquid taste like shit.
It must throw the flavor off or every major eliquid company that had a popular eliquid would have an exact replica version in high nic salt.
Some do but only certain flavors.

Edit: it also causes eliquid to go bad much faster after opening it.

Friggin' local news clickbait
This station is in my backyard and this "report" is exactly why I don't watch local news.
"Next on News Channel 4, Bridal Showers and Pedal Pubs....a deadly combination or important revenue stream for downtown businesses?"
And sorry.....her tweet is hardly a "testimonial"
Looking at her twitter thread does read like she's "concern trolling"
but it's kewl.....she's a Sigma Kappa (derp)

P.S. - Left Brain sez I use quotation marks "too much" o_O

I have a strange feeling that Benzoic acid makes eliquid taste like shit.
I got that impression when I tried a Juul back when they were brand new back in 2015. All four of the flavors available had a strange "off" taste to me. It remained even when I extracted the contents of several pods, cut the stuff down to my regular strength with PG & VG, and then vaped it in one of my usual devices.

That said, salts can be made with other weak acids besides benzoic, for example citric. Last year, I bought some off-the-shelf salt juices to use when I knew I'd be stuck in a trade show booth for five days straight with little chance to vape. They didn't have the characteristic Juul taste, however they killed the hell out of the coils in the Breeze I was using there.

Edit: it also causes eliquid to go bad much faster after opening it.
Interesting. I've heard people argue just the opposite; that salts are more stable than freebase. From a chemistry standpoint, I'd be inclined to believe it. Think about it, there's no pure sodium or chlorine found in nature, but plenty of sodium chloride salt.

Back to the original article that started this thread: If heat on the roof of the mouth causes cancer, people better stop drinking hot coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate. These being water-based liquids, they are far more effective at transferring heat to body tissue than the wispy vapor from a Juul.

Good point.
I cannot drink straight from the pot coffee.
Must cool a few minutes.

But if I say IF there is an issue as declared in the OP link. BIG IF. And I mostly doubt the validity of the story.
It may not be heat alone. Benzoic acid is a known irritant and heat may intensify that effect?
And as I said it does not take benzoic acid for some vape ingredients to mess my mouth, throat and lungs up horribly.
My first round with the issue took a week to clear up.

I then drank a few mils of the offending juice with no ill effects.
Vaped a bit of it again and sure enough the beginnings of the issues again.

So for me at least I get totally different reactions when vaping or ingesting something.
