Hello, I've been using steam engine and vape tool apps to build my coils, but I'm putting together a new mod, and unlike using 18650s or 26650s I'm using a 3s 11.1v 50c continous 100c max 5000mah lipo on my dna 250. I have a 46mm alliance fat boy rda, and want to run 8 coils. I'm using advance vape triple core parallel fused Clapton 316l ss wire. it's triple core inner at 28g, the wrap is 36g. the average ohms is 5 to 0.24 ohms. what would be the lowest to go and what would be the optimum range for safe operation. I'm going bigger wraps but even with a 46mm rda room is getting short.

I just built this and it's ohming at .06 316L alien and fused Clapton's
Just build as low as your mod and batteries can handle......

What does you manual say is the lowest ohm you mod or batteries can do?

The lowest build is that number multiplide by the number of coils. Per coil. So if .1 ohm is lowest fireable rate the each coil will be .8ohms.

There's a reason i was so cautious for lowest ohms, I'm drawing alot of power to different places for my mod. doing alot of illumination, to see exactly what I'm dealing with, visit my latest post, from beginning to the end, my first build. been buying alot of manufactured boxes, and finally decided I'll jump in and give a completely custom tc mod a chance.

As low as your mod can go, and in the DNA250's case, that is very low.

Your set watts determine the amp load on your battery, in this case a 3S Li-Po. A quick calculation for you is set watts divided by 9.6.
So for 200W, 200/9.6=20.83A. This is before efficiency though.

The full calculation is (Watts/minimum single battery voltage/number of cells)/Efficiency. So for the DNA250, at say 200W, the calculation is-

200/3.2/3=20.83. Then Divide by the efficiency of 97%- 20.83/0.97=21.47A.

So, really any wattage range you like would be OK as long as your battery can output enough amps safely, and for 200W this would need to be 21.47A.

Which means my wh should be 55.5wh, my amps should be 250 amp continous and 500 amps 10 second max bust

Which makes 2775 watts continous and 5550 watts max amps discharge

Dc current at 500 amps at 11.1v should be 5550 watts max discharge

By ohms law, my resistance (r) at 0.0444 ohms , (i) my current should be 250 amps, my voltage (v) of course is 11.1 volts, my power should be 2775 watts

At 0.1 ohms resistance, at 11.1 volts, my battery drain is 111 amps and 1232.1 volts and at 0.1 ohms resistance and power of 250 watts device should draw 50 amps and 5 volts

Remember you are using a regulated mod, not a mech here. The DNA200 and DNA250 will not ask for more than it needs- the input fuse blows at 25A on the DNA200, and the spec sheet states 23A as the max input, although I am sure this has been updated to 24A with a firmware update.

The DNA250 will need a maximum of 28A input, and can output a maximum of 55A continuos and 60A pulse.

Your battery is capable of the needed 28A , so you have more than enough there :). Go as low as the mod will allow if you want, you will be safe.

Duh, my bad conan, i really forgot, I've had unregulated box mods for so long , but forgot i was regulated with the dna, to much going on with getting a box to fit my battery i forgot i was doing tc. smh, I need a box soon

Lol no worries, I can understand if you have been calculating for unregulated mods for a long time it becoming normal for you to calculate that way.
How big does your box actually need to be to fit everything? As it is a pretty big Li-Po you are using there, I imagine it will give great battery life though :)

Inside diameter dimensions needs to be 7 x 3 x 3 inches, been talking to brimstone 3d, Hammond, bud, allied electronics, polycase, takachi, etc. in my other post on forum, from beginning to the end, i have everything uploaded. now just need an enclosure. needs to be milled, I'm doing an illuminated base like no name mods, plus milled down for my avid cisco 510 connector. I'm using illuminated momentary switches not the dna switches. relocating the usb port. and a custom logo to cap it off. just read you can customize the screen on the dna 250 just trying to figure out the monochrome bitmap pixel setup.

I took a look at your thread, it seems like quite a big project you have going, but something that should be fun, and give you exactly what you want when you are finished.

I definitely look forward to seeing the finished mod, and hope you can find an enclosure for it soon.

One thing I can help you with is the custom screens for the DNA250. I have made some custom logos myself in the past for my DNA200. Here is a guide to making them, it might help you out. I am on a mac, so used GIMP to edit the images I wanted to use, and virtual box to run Escribe. http://www.volcanoecigs.com/blog/dn...m-graphics-to-your-box-mod-using-escribe.html

A non related question, is that you in your profile picture? It looks like an award ceremony of some sorts, what is it? I am not from the USA myself so don't know much about things out there lol.

Ahh Ok cool, I just had a look at the Casino's, looks like you have 5 in the USA? Two in NV, which I guess is Las Vegas? One in New Jersey, another in MS (Mississippi? Or Missouri? Sorry I am not up on the shortened form of states), and one finally in Louisiana.

I have only ever been to a casino once, that was for a meal. It was quite nice there, I felt a bit out of place though lol.

And no problem, I hope your build goes well :).

Thx, I'm literally waiting on the last 3 pieces before box begins build. Adapt plastics building my acrylics, which is the 510 connector base that'll be illuminated by my green diode. It will sit flush, it's 1 inch wide circle with 2mm depth. Just like no name mods. Before they switched owners, he never made it work with any other 510, except the fd, plus never did it with a dna chip. I have an avionics guy who think he can not only make it work with my avid cisco 510, but also with the dna 250. And the other acrylic piece, is a see thru glass for my dna screen. most have the screen sunk into there enclosure, so you see that it's not flush. so I got a brimstone 3d dna mount board slash screen holder, and I'll mount that to the acrylic, which the acrylic will sit flush with the enclosure. so when I'm done it'll look like my dna screen is exactly flush with my enclosure, and will have clear visibility. not like the enclosures that have the whole dna on the outside, that have a bulge on the outside of the box, that's the holder. and not like the enclosures that you can actually touch the dna screen. also it'll help for protecting the screen from the outside elements. the acrylics are paid for in full, but I'm looking at first week of January before receiving it, due to the turnaround they have and being booked up. so that's a bummer. the third, and final piece, and the most important, has yet to be found, made, or built. the enclosure. since i don't have a business tax id Hammond can't sell the box directly to me. another bummer. so I'm going through a distributor. I've started looking for one before i started. A truly custom enclosure was around 1500 to 15000. Yeah really. due to getting a company to do the cad drawing you need. the setup for a custom enclosure, the setup for the silk screen printing the painting, the minimum quantity, it's been a nightmare. so i went away from a complete custom enclosure to a modified one, less of a headache, but still q nightmare. Looking for an enclosure that's at least 7x3x3 inches inside diameter, plus a case thickness that can be milled at least 1mm to at least make my 510 connector that's 2mm thick some what flush, not to mention at least a 1/8 of an inch so my acrylic disc that will illuminate the 510 base some what flush, the choices are few and far to come by. plus my 510 needs to be able to case grounded, so that limits the type of enclosure material i can use. also the price goes up because my logos that i want on the enclosure door and on the opposite side of the enclosure door. plus the milling for my 510 connector, my diode cutout, my acrylic disc cutout, the usb cutout, cutouts for my dna screen, 3 each momentary switch cutouts, and the holes for screws for my 510 and usb panel I'm using to relocate the dna usb port to the lower part of my enclosure. it's been rough, but will pay out eventually. the inside I'll keep bare, the outside will be smooth silky black, and the logos in color. I was wondering if anybody on this forum builds any enclosures, i need all the help i can get. that, which is the enclosure, is the only part i need that's not paid for, and the enclosure is the only part i have yet to find a seller. which is putting The Reactor Forty Six on hold. hopefully allied electronics send get me something asap. i all ready got my alliance fatboy 46mm rda all coiled up with triple parallel fused Clapton wire, and native wicks cotton installed, made me a batch of my custom 3 percent nicotine, all vg bubblegum e juice i made, have all my wires, switches, Flux, solder, and chemicals, just need that darn enclosure. I can work around the acrylics, i have some discs, and bypass the screen acrylics, and be vaping in no time with my mod, if, if, i had my enclosure, we'll see, I'll keep you guys posted.
