Opening the box I'm pleased to once again see nothing that can easily be broken. The first layer of the box contains the Voopoo Vinci X with pod attached and two coils. They are .6 ohms and .3ohms coils. The second layer contains a usb cable, a GENE CHIP card, a warranty card and a user manual.
One side of the Vinci X has buttons and a .97 inch TFT screen. 2 opposing sides have colorful panels and the back says Voopoo descending downwards. The battery compartment is accessed from the bottom and the usb port is also on the bottom.
The biggest difference between the Vinci and Vinci X is the Vinci X has an external 18650 battery. It powers the Vinci X up to 70 watts! Much better than the 40 watts you can get from the Vinci with the internal battery. Its advised that you get an external charger for the battery but if you need to you can charge the battery through the usb cable.
The Voopoo Vinci X comes with many safeguards. Overtime protection, over temperature protection, output over-current protection, overcharge protection, low battery protection, Atomizer short-circuit protection, max power protection and battery anti-reverse protection are the main items protecting your Vinci X.
To put the battery into the mod just flip it over and unscrew the battery compartment. Insert the battery and screw the cap back onto the mod. The Vinci X is compatible with any Voopoo pnp coils. They come in .3, .6, .45, .8, and 1.2 ohms. To install a new coil you simply pull out the pod, insert the coil into the bottom of the pod. Then pull out the silicone plug and fill with liquid. The pod holds 5.5mls of liquid. Try to keep it at least 2/3rds of the way full. Replace the plug and replace the pod into the mod. The mod automatically adjusts the power based on the coil. Let sit at least 5 minutes and you're ready to vape. You can rotate the pod to change the airflow. Depending on coil and airflow you can go between a semi tight mtl vape or a loose airy dl vape. .
To turn the mod on you click the fire button 5 times and 5 times to turn it off. To clear the puff meter press fire and - at the same time. It automatically clears at the end of the day. The puff recorder keeps track of 14 days worth of records. To check any given day press the + and - together. To exit press the fire button. To lock and unlock the Vinci X press the + and fire button together. Entering the clock interface is easy enough. Press the fire button, + and - buttons all at once. Use the fire button to move the cursor and the + and - buttons to change the time up and down. A long press on the fire button saves your time and exits the menu.
The Voopoo Vinci X will give you status notifications when needed. Some of these notifications are: charging, check battery, max power, temperature high, Atomizer short and check atomizer. It uses the GENE.AI chip which supports the intelligent coil matching feature and the 2 week usage record.
Pros: external battery, easy coil change, multiple coils.
Cons: USB cable is medium length, maximum wattage setting determined by the coil you are using. You can't go higher than the wattage determined by the Voopoo Vinci X.
