Yes and no to that...This is something that was a must for me to have in my laptop. I'll just post links to explain the mindfulness of why I needed it, to charge certain devices actually. I have OEM cords I tried using, with failure. The ports are more efficient but run much differently in order to charge and relay data back and forth...

USB 3.0 puts out more amps than 2.0, buts it's still about .9A. Nothing near the 2.0A for Drag Mini but compared to charging some devices 3.0 would of course be better :)

The transfer data rate between 2.0 and 3.0 is huge, but there's a lot more into transferring data than what the USB is rated at. Most wouldn't see a difference in the 2 because of the amount of data most user's deal with. Ya hafta be moving a lot of data at once to see a diff. Like transferring a lot of video (2hrs is roughly 2BG). The performance of the pc comes into play as well. If transferring huge amounts of data, the processor, the type of drive being used, the amount/speed of the memory, and what and how that's all connected inside the pc matters too. An example would be, as a drive an SSD is fast when it's connected to the motherboard via a sata cable. But an SSD can also be connected to the mb through pci express https://computer.howstuffworks.com/pci-express.htm , which is faster. The rate at which data can be moved within memory is very impressive, "100 MHz, DDR3 SDRAM gives a maximum transfer rate of 6400 MB/s." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM), and 100MHz is on the slow end. All data moves in and out of memory. Drive>memory>processor or processor>memory>drive. Also having enough memory to store what's being transferred is key. If the processor asks the drive for a video, and the drive can't send it all to memory, then the processor has to wait thus slowing down the transfer. ik, tmi....

You do realize that it's not only a data upgrade to the ports but a charging upgrade as well, right? I said in my last post that I had a need for a better or more efficient way to use devices for charging and data. I'm a little versed on the works of pc's, the one I'm on has all the above said features as you explained to me plus some. I didn't take courses in electronics to include computing to waste my time. Now my memory fades true enough but I had reasons for building a system to co-exist with what my needs were. I was just pointing out the fact that the 3.0 is more co-efficient than the 2.0 and will charge better, the links will explain how that is done. :)

The only part of 51 that was a reply to..

If the added amps of your UBS card helps you with charging, that's great :p

The rest of 51 was me going off topic, actually

I'm trying to give others the opportunity since apparently I buy up all the stuff befor anyone can look at it.
Brother Jim, is that you? It's no wonder I run into problems getting stuff. Went into a B&M and was told Jim come in and bought all their inventory, he had just left too. I hope your ears are still bleeding from the cussing I was laying on you. :giggle::D:) Just you wait until I go out into the backwood and holler at Bubba. Bubba, he know everybody, one time he even introduced me to Elvis, who isn't dead but on vacation.

My voopoo mini within 30 days had the outer part of the port just come straight out and now its screwed, it wont charge. I contacted the store I bought it from and they told me that the manufacturer has to replace it since it has a 90 day warranty. Well, after contacting these Chinese scam artists, they refuse to replace it and the best they offer is a 50 percent discount on my next purchase. I spent 75 bucks on a piece of garbage, and I will make damn sure that I let as many people as possible know that this company makes trash and wont replace units with known issues. Believe me, do a simple Google search and find out that I'm not the only one who had the outer part of the port just fall right out after minimal use. Dont buy this product, its Chinese garbage, and like most Chinese products, it's a scam and the warranty is a lie.
