Tyger Tyger from Vaporjoes Canada explains away the rumors about "China banning ecigs".

Excerpt from VJC:

The articles “need to differentiate between Hong Kong China and Mainland China. Hong Kong China is sensitive about ecig products and nicotine both in the past, and now. Meanwhile, Shenzhen (in Mainland China) is the primary city for producing ecig products. There is an upcoming convention for ecigs this month (April 9th to 11th), which is the 1st ecig exhibition in Shenzhen. ISCIS (International Electronic Cigarette Industry Expo) will be held on April 15th to 17th at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center as well. This is a sign that the government is aware of the importance of this industry. There is no reason to ban ecigs in China mainland.”

Granted, 1997 was a while ago, but, Hong Kong was still a British colony until then. No surprise that they would have different takes on things such as this. It comes across as a more progressive, westernized city from what ive seen. That doesnt bode well for ecigs, as we all know.
