Vaping makes me gag

I've been dripping with 22 gauge kanthal for a few months, but as of recently it makes me gag. I don't think its my flavor, maybe something wrong with the wire or cotton. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, can you tell me what it is that makes me gag? thanks
