I think I mentioned it in the introductions thread but I've never been a smoker but I picked up vaping as sort of a hobby, and then again to try to quit dipping. I've read a lot of stories of how it helped so I figured why not? Anyway, I've been vaping at 3mg nicotine and for about a month, I was tobacco free. The family took a vacation and I couldn't vape in the car (wife doesn't want me vaping around the kiddos) so I grabbed a couple of cans to get me through the trip. The problem is that it's been harder to quit again than it ever has. The biggest issue is that when I'm working, if I don't have a dip in, I drag and yawn every few minutes like I just haven't had any sleep.

I am a subohming fool, and when I can, I basically chain vape. If I double the nicotine to 6mg, do you guys think it'll help me quit the can? I just don't really like throat hit.

It won't hurt to try if you think you're getting nicotine cravings. I sub ohm and chain vape 6mg.

Another thing you could try is chewing gum or eating sunflower seeds. I gave up coffee/caffeine last week and the same thing happened to me. I'd get so tired I couldn't hold my eyes open.

When that happened, I would grab some BBQ sunflower seeds and it'd perk me up a bit.

You're definitely right but I wouldn't rule out that he just got used to having something in his mouth. Replacing dip with seeds for example, would keep his brain occupied.

Or actually... B complex to help with energy levels. Detoxing from any substance usually includes some vitamins, and the B vitamins are almost always used. They're water soluble so they aren't "stored up" in the body, and it's VERY easy to have a deficiency.

And you should point out to your wife that vaping around your kids is in NO WAY hazardous to them -- but maybe she just wants to get rid of you faster. ;)

We've had the discussion before. She's more prone to giving in to the fear based articles regarding vaping. "We don't know what's in it, the girls are still exposed to nicotine" blah blah. I just go along with her to keep from starting an argument. The things we do for love. Haha

I think I'll try gum or sunflower seeds. I really don't want to raise the nicotine for the only reason of throat hit. If anything I'd like to go down to zero nic. I think mykreign has a good point. I think it's more a mouth feel thing instead of a nicotine addiction. And vaping to me is really just a hobby. Flavor chasing, clouds and vape tricks.

Good idea. I hate getting that middle layer of "skin" between the seed and shell floating around in my mouth and sticking to my teeth and tongue

I guess. I'm just glad my husband is intelligent enough to understand that ANYTHING is better than smoking, and not to believe some ignorant shit just because he hears it on the "news." We do know exactly what's in it, and none of it is anywhere near as bad as what's in tobacco smoke.

I used to vape 18mg nic ejuice a fww years ago. I gradually got my way down to 3nic over the course of years. You definitely started with a low level of nic in your vape. Honestly 6 might be a help to you. Dipping Skoal aint no joke. You're used to intaking alot of nic I presume. 3nic with vapor is really low.

I started with 24mg nic....didn't need anything else, that is some strong vaping, had absolutely no urge whatsoever for a smoke. Stayed at 24 for a few weeks, then 18, 12, 6. The past week I didn't use any nic, but I haven't smoked in a couple of years. Guess nic isn't as addicting as some claim it is, but it can damn sure get folks off the coffin nails if administered correctly.

So Let me get this straight.
Your wife Doesn't want you vaping around Your kids so she figured the answer to that problem would be to Let you get re addicted to tobacco?
Sounds like you need to sit your wife down and ask her which of the two that she prefers:

    1) she pulls the car over every hour or two and you walk outside and Vape like a smoker would walk outside to smoke.

    Or

    2) her and the kids can have you around for about a decade less then they would if they had chosen #1

That's why I suggested that maybe she just wants rid of him faster. :giggle: Don't think I'd stay married to someone who so eagerly anticipated my death -- hope she hasn't taken out any life insurance on him!

Y'all are killing me with these answers:teehee:.
I do understand the OP wanting to be accommodating if his wife is concerned. Just gotta find a compromise.
I have faced more criticism, questions and opposition as a vaper than I have seen ANY smoker face. The efforts to keep people misinformed abound and are very well thought out. I once had an acquaintance not want me to vape in MY living room because her doctor told her she might be allergic to vapor. I'll repeat that: "allergic to VAPOR."
So you see, people get a lot of bad info from seemingly credible sources.

To be fair, I don't vape around kids either. I have my reasons.

Anyhow, have you thought about picking up a mouth to lung high nic setup for trips like that? An old nautilus mini with a dozen hits of 50/50 18 mg MTL goodness and some gum should tied you over until the next stop a couple of hours down the road.

I was thinking about suggesting nicotine lozenges but then I figured that it may have been OP looking for excuses of a slip up.
Once you start using tobacco there are other things besides nicotine that come into play addiction wise.

So by saying "fuck it, i'll just use tobacco this week" you will be more than likely starting over the addiction/quitting process all over from the beginning again.
Kind of like a heroin addict that has been clean for 6 months saying "Fuck it, i'm going to get high all day every day for a week"

Completely agree, and it's much harder quitting the 2nd time than it was the first time. But I guess people will grab any handy excuse they can find to go back to cigarettes; the government is helping with that a lot, by helping to spread all the lies and disinformation to people like his wife, so she balks at him vaping around the kids, as if that's gonna hurt them. It won't. But going back to smoking will hurt the smoker, everyone who has to breathe his 2nd hand smoke, and everyone he'll leave behind when he dies too young from a smoking-related disease.

I always carry some 12mg with me for times like this, especially on vacations. Sometimes you need more of a kick!

I used to keep some High Test e-Liquids around for those times I will not be able to vape so can get the same amount of nicotine for a few puffs as I would with an hour of chain vaping. Don't do it anymore but having the Nicotine base to make what I want is the answer. Worst that can happen is you get a little nicotine overloaded and will not want to vape. 3MG all day or 48MG a few times in the end it all equals out.

That reminds me of doing the same for awhile a couple of years ago before I started diy when juice prices went through the roof for a bit. I was on a big time dessert flavor kick...especially apple pie from Vape Joose when they were new and you could get a 120ml for $8. I dripped 99% of the time so I'd keep my 6mg apple pie as my usual juice but always had a bottle of 15mg Vanilla Bean Ice Cream stashed. When I got stressed, I'd drip a little of both and have the biggest apple pie a la mode nic rush imaginable. Haha

I'd die if I tried that now. I sampled a friend's 3mg juice here recently out of his old nautilus mini and, while it tasted great, it almost knocked me on my ass after being on 0.5 or less the last year. Lol

For shits and giggles I tried some 100% VG at 48MG and boy that was a head rush!
