The Triton 2 is worse than the Triton 1!

This is the dumbest thing ever.

I love Aspire tanks. Compatibility is one of my favorite features, as there are tons of other companies' coils that will fit in an Atlantis, or a Triton, or a Triton 2, etc.

My Triton is one of my old faves, and I just got a Triton 2 today, incidentally it was free so there's really nothing to complain about at all. But this has got me totally befuddled! The 2 has LESS features!

-No top airflow is by far the most glaring error, and it shows. This thing does not pull nearly as freely as the 1.

-The top fill ring is much harder to turn and properly "click" into place. It's like a pickle jar that never fully opens.

-The body is just simple pyrex glass, instead of the rather clever metal "cage" that protects the 1.

Again, ain't gonna complain about free stuff. But what was Aspire thinking? There's gotta be SOMETHING better about it. Right?

Well, in Aspire's defense they were responding to customer and reviewer's with the Triton 2: I have about half a dozen Triton's and Triton 2's and they are my overall favorite daily/general use tanks:

Top airflow: Most reviewers complain that this "feature" just diminishes flavor - which is true as the vape is diluted with more air at the tip. Though sometimes it is nice to have (well, no actually, it's pretty useless). You can also get drip-tips for this. Generally I find it causes trouble than its worth since I always use it fully closed but sometimes it gets rotated open unoticed. Don't miss it. Upgrade to lose it.

I found the top-fill "click" to be about the same - this seems to be a per-unit rather than a per-model thing. I've had tight/loose Triton 1's and 2's. I do think it's a bit easier to fill the 2 since the holes are less recessed and the trench allows for a little larger margin for overfill. Upgrade.

The body is simple glass and the cage is gone: folks complained that you couldn't take it apart for cleaning. They solved this with a more traditional design - simple replaceable glass tube. The original could not have the glass replaced. For most, Upgrade. Though, I still like the original because the cage makes it almost indestructible (especially the replacement that's fully covered).

I still think the Triton 1/2 are among the best flavor tanks and reasonable in the cloud dept. They don't seem to get much love these days though, but for me, still set the bar (in the midsize range). The 4Ohm SS coil is exceptionally good with amazing flavor, very consistently manufactured, and works reliably and consistently with TC in SS mode. I don't know that that could be said of any other SS pre-built coil.

    Well, a few things:

The Triton 1 doesn't have an air control ring, it's built right into what you might call the "bottom part of the drip tip." You're definitely right about airflow adjuster rings getting loose and going haywire (Starre tanks come to mind), but not on a Triton 1... that piece is squeeze fitted in there with a rubber gasket. So I don't think this is a concern with the Triton 1.

Speaking of which, it's adjustable... you don't have to open it if you don't want to. Those who don't like it, don't have to use it :).

I do completely agree that it's easier to fill than the Triton 1, that is an improvement.

And yeah, I love my triton 1, and well, I vaped forward the triton 2 with an adjustable airflow aftermarket tip on it :).
