We have a high end thread, and authentics are great, but thought a thread for pics and discussions of the “styles” would be fun and informative. I, like many others, have authentics, but still love my clones! They are fun and cheap, and many are great mods.

Not a place for the age old debate, but side by side authentic/clone comparisons are welcomed. A shame free place for people to share their favorite clones to be admired by other cheapskates, let’s see those knockoffs! [IMG]

XXX Vaperz cloud 18650/27000 clone by kindbright with clone gen 2 rda, great mod but has been discontinued in copper (had to work a bit to find this one with some failure, then scored one from a fellow member by chance.) Only issue is the contact had some arcing to the battery until I polished it flat (had a small point) no big deal and one of my favorites.

Vaperz cloud 11:11 clone by kindbright in 18650 mode. Couldn’t find all copper on any of the popular sites so had to look elsewhere

My favorite clone tube ATM, the VC Tech S style switch is an improvement on the one from the XXX, super hard hitting no hot button or arcing whatsoever, a very high quality reproduction IMO.

I own some pretty good clones, like two Stingray X mod, I bought from FT, as well as some Petry RDAs, and a few more. That's the thing about a free market. It's the competition that keeps prices down. As we all know, some of our equipment, might be designed, and developed here in the USA. However, it's produced/manufactured mainly in China, or other countries, that provide production of products at low costs.
Do your research, before you buy anything, whether it's produced domestic, or not. I also own a lot of products that were produced/manufactured here in the USA, and I paid an acceptable price.

I have 3 Fasttech clones that are very nice and affordable. Love my Hexohm V2 and V3, and a 1+1 Broadside tube that is in my hand whenever I'm home. I think I paid about $85.00 for all 3, and worth every penny. I hope to get the Authentics too someday, but for now I'm very satisfied.

Well said. Clones can be a touchy subject. I personally think they are fun, a good way to test the waters before investing in the real deal. Me buying a clone or not doesn’t keep me from buying an authentic. If anything it may influence me to support the original designer buy buying the authentic if I am impressed by the design.
All for supporting local innovation and people/companies that deserve it, but also for supporting international, we are all together on this small blue dot.
The broadside 1+1 is a winner, had it for a while before I ever used it and was surprised how hard it hit. Kind of on the fence about the split switch with the O ring, but it does the job and does it well.

I bought an excellent copper mod for only $99, totally made in the USA. In addition, I own several Mutation X RDA's, designed in the USA, produced in China.
Looking at the $99 copper mod, it is possible to produce and sell an excellent product, 100% made in the USA, for an acceptable price.

Got the last one available on FT and gave it a quick polish, probably won’t get around trying it out for a bit. Spring feels nice and stiff.

Nemeisis clone I picked up about 4 years ago...
I replaced the spring with magnets and have used the crap out of it over the years. ( top cap plating is worn thin)
This my beater mod because it can take it.

On the left is the copper Penny clone with a copper Tobh Atty clone on top,
and on the right is a brass Caravela clone (18500 tube)
All of my clones I switch the spring for magnets and put a dab of Ox-gard on
the threads. In four years I've never had one give up or fail.

Yep I have a couple of brass nemmy clones I picked up about 2 years ago on clearance for $5 each.
Nice little mods and as you did I put magnets in them. even clone magnets from FT :giggle:

I also picked up 2 EH Pro New Yorker mods in brass for $10 each and they are great mods. Per reviewers are better than the authentics they copied.

I also found 2 Kato clone mods for $10 each about 2 years ago. And they are 1:1 absolutely nothing wrong with those mods. Have never even had to clean any contacts in them or anything.

bought several clone RDA's but never clone tanks and never clone regulated mods.

Same here, clone regulated mods are out of the question, and tanks are affordable.

yep but I can neither afford nor would pay $80-125 for an RDA when I can get a nice almost as good clone for $10-15.

Not really. Clones don't bring down the price of authentics. At least not that I've seen.

    I agree.
Clones and authentics are two different markets, the only thing I see bring down the price of authentics is a store or site putting them on clearance to clear out their inventory.

Nothing like new fresh cotton and clean threads/switch :)
Been using this RDA almost exclusively for the past week or 2, The 12$ SJMY OG goon clone, definitely getting a second one.
Has been polished, the drip tip is the one on FT with a half star rating because it doesn’t fit much, fits this RDA like bark on a tree. It’s highly textured and a bit sharp the way it comes, a little sand paper and steel wool made it easier on the lips.

Also have been using the 20650 blue LG HG2’s, if you have an 18650/20700 mod these may work. Mooch tests them slightly better than all higher amp 20700’s except the Sanyo A’s. .13 build, put one in last night vaped all day, probably 14 hours of vaping before it dropped off.

Be careful, just as deep a rabbit hole as others, it starts with one then your dresser is covered in shiny tubes :(
