Smaller diameter drippers for improved flavor?

22mm atties have been the standard diameter most of us seem to use, and seems to be the most commonly produced rda size. Stands to reason, considering battery and tube mod diameters. Looks good, makes sense.

Anyone who has used a reduced chamber sized atty like a Derringer, Bambino, etc, knows how well that smaller chamber seems to make flavors explode when compared to other rda's with larger chambers. Smaller chambers seem to work in favor of flavor, but you can only get them so small by reducing the height before you run out of build room.

Now I don't know about you, but I seem to prefer single coil builds...at least for the moment. The thing is, most atty's nowadays are made to accommodate duals, and although most do have single coil mode too, you end up with over half of the chamber as empty space. Seems to reason that if we were to significantly reduce that empty space, flavor would improve even further.

I remember seeing a post by a guy somewhere a while back talking about how his small diameter rds's were superior for flavor, so I know they're out there, but no one ever seems to discuss them. No idea who makes them, what styles or features or various diameters are available, but I for one am interested in learning more about these little guy's.

    Anyone know anything?

    tl;dr: 14-18mm rda's. List them. Go!

Vicious Ant Cyclone w/ AFC, Mark Bugs Chalice III and the Hellfire series by Attysmith are the ones that come to mind as the top of the list.

    Cyclone deck size:

    Cyclone 1 ohm build w/ 28g wire:

Other notables could be the Atomic by MCV, Cosmic Innovations Aston and Quasar (almost same chamber size as the Cyclone even thought its 22 mm) and RM Pulse Dripper (also a 22m but has a very innovative chamber)

    Pulse dripper chamber:

One other thing I would like to add, smaller chamber is not always better; the derringer and bambino is a perfect example. The Bambino is a fixed airflow system, basically its a wide open derringer, so I found the derringer had better flavor with the airflow closed off a bit than the bambino with an identical build.

In any event, the most accessible small chamber atty with adjustable airflow and single coil oriented is the VA Cyclone:

At one time these were going for a little over 100USD, now you can grab one for half that price.

If I didn't have my Hellfire, then this would be my next pick for best flavor atty (the cyclone produces great vapor too since you can open up the airflow on both sides)

As for small RDAs, the Trident is a good flavor atty too.

However, I'm not so sure about size and flavor. My Castor makes excellent flavor an clouds.

It would be cool if someone could mill a little piece of steel to fit nicely in the empty side of something like a Derringer. It works well for me in single coil mode, but i suppose it could always be a little better :p

The Origen Geneis has a dual coil and single coil setup.

It looks complicated upon first sight but after a build or two its not bad at all.

Note: I have it sitting on the top cap as a makeshift stand for the photo.

Its my top flavor chasing atty atm followed by the Freakshow, which is what was described in the OP.

I started using a Cyclone on a Provari with ekowool and 32 gauge kanthal. It puts out flavor, with a cotton build even better. The airflow and chamber size are the variables in this topper. Some reduced chamber attys don't cut it, no matter what you do with your build. Heat is a big factor with how much flavor you get. In really hot setups, the flavor is reduced, but you get more clouds. It's a balancing act on making decent cloud juice with enough flavor.

IMO I love warm builds.twisted 26g single coil in a freakshow is really warm at 50w.I haven't vaped at extremely high watts but it produces top notch flavor. Blueberry cupcake literally tastes like a blueberry cupcake just out of the oven still warm.I have moderately wide carbon fiber drip tip.the small drip tips concentrate the heat to one area and at higher watts it can burn the fuck out of you, trust me I have done it several times not thinking.say goodbye to flavor after that for about a week.

Got that atty ^^^ yesterday! Its... interesting. The airflow is so small you cant even hear anything going on. Your inhaling but it doesnt seem like it until you feel the warmth and exhale. The vapor is not bad for a mouth to lung hit but Iam used to more airflow(think goblins turbulent airflow).

I ended up drilling out the 2 airholes with a 1/16 bit using the metal cap as a guide so I wouldnt drill into the tank area and had just a fraction of a mm to spare. phew! Air flow is just right now.
And flavor I'll have to test my regular juices. I've got a bottle of hawk sauce which I've never tried and the flavor is a beautiful thing. So far I like it at .15ohm @ 25w. Ill be messing more with that today. Atty is about the same size as a rogue.

Yeah what he said! I just got a clone and other than having to fix the air port inside the cap it's a real flavor producer and it bottom feeds too.
I've been a fan of small chambers and under coil air feed for a long time, this Chalice III is one of the better small dripping style atomizers I've tried.

I prefer single coils too. I am very happy with the aforementioned Vicious Ant Cyclone AFC that I'm using now on my mech mod. My Leakshow Mini is in the drawer keeping the spiders company.
