got some vape mail today. only had time to set up the hadaly clone with a framed staple. this coil was a spare from a set i made a couple months ago. cant remember the specs, it was prolly 6x.4 with 28 or 26 frames, looks like 42 wrap. single comes to exactly .2 ohms
View attachment 77533
nice flavor. so far i really like this atty <3
Haha, I just got my Hadaly clone in the mail yesterday too.

Got these fellas wrapped up and shot last night. The last few renditions prior to this were a little unsatisfactory as far as vape quality. I suspect the addition of the ribbon between the staple core and the frames to be the missing link. This is a near perfect vape (for me at least). Zero ramp up time, plenty of warmth, and a TON of juice capacity. Very very happy with these, and i will definitely be making them again in the near future.

a very quick build just to try some new hardware from the vape mail that came in yesterday. next up is the apocalypse clone with 28/40 fused claptons on the mcm underground series box...had no intention of posting this boring build, but it colored up nice so i thought 'why not?'...8 wraps, just under .4ohms.
Capture.PNG

got a goon lp clone i am going to do a build for a parallel box on later (staggerton or alien framed staples, havnt done the math yet), but my roomie has to build all her new stuff too, so im gonna step away from the bench while she does a couple builds. maybe ill post her pics too...

well i chickened out on staple anything for a first try on the goon lp deck. didnt have any of the problems i anticipated having, but it still feels like this deck could wreck staple variants with all that bending legs. stuck with regular aliens. 26/38, 5 2.5mm wraps .12 ohms.
Capture.PNG

and heres my roomies 3rd fused clapton build ever. (26/36, dunno the rest lol), on her matchy matchy goon/boxer setup that just came in the mail. this boxer v2 188w mod is pretty nice btw. very detailed ramp up curve settings, and it feels like it has a default rampup like the hohm wrecker. fires as soon as you hit the button on any wattage. the blue finish on the outside feels really nice too.

Got my new wire today, First time playing around with 42G oh man my hair seems to be ten times thicker than that :D

For testing purposes made some framed Stapels
2x29GA Frames / 8ply 0.3 ribbon/42Ga wrap.
7 wraps 3mm all N80. Didnt mounted them yet.
still waiting for my magnifying goggles just cant See when i'm gapping or overlapping the 42G.
Came out pretty clean for a first try, really like how you literally can see through the wrap to See the Stapels.

Im pretty new to spinning the fine 40-44g too but ive found that if the light is right it will reflect nice and bright when your tight. It will be dull when your getting too loose. But I still use magnifiers to be sure.

I finally broke down and ordered some 40G kanthal D from king orchid. This is the first time messing with 40 ever, so i got 1,000 feet of it! The price was really damn good too. Since I was ordering I went ahead and got a jewelers vice as well. Should have it any day now and then the fun starts!

IMG_2009.JPG IMG_2010.JPG 3rd attempt at fused claptons. Pretty happy with how they came out. I tried my hand at a staggered fused clapton but man that came out kind of crappy. Definitely seemed easier in videos. Will practice that more for sure. Here's some pictures with my iPhone. I have to invest in a macro camera after seeing all these great build pictures.

While nothing as fancy as an alien or anything, I'm sort of proud of my first coil that wasn't from premade Clapton.
Twist I made from 24awg A1, even managed a smidge of color in the one side more than the other,
Only bad part is they barely fit in side my velocity v2 I just got to replace my Velocity v1, swear this thing is smaller than the v1.

Nice looking coil. You might try using 26g. If you want lower ohms, could do it a wrap or two less. And would fit easier in your rda.

I have to be careful of how low I build, in general with my hexohm I have to keep it around .3 to beable to vape with any real power and not worry about burning out the chip.

Nice one matey :) great first build

Their are several things I don't like about the wrecker but many more that I love about it. The fsk chip is awesome, it can TC anything and on SS mode it's the best TC vape I have had. It fires down to .007 ohms so you can color anything you want. Man I need more tools so I can fab my own mod. It would be a dual 26650 squonk with the fsk chip and a wattage curve setting and a fire bar like the alien. It would be big and wonky but man I would I love it for home or road trip use.

The only thing I dont care for is the power output at supersubohm resistances...If they made the next box they were suposed to that would have fixed that issue...
I want a 3x18650 Box using the FSK Chip that fires 150-200w @ .05 ohms in a flask layout....that would be the ultimate regulated mod.
The Power output of the Hohm Wrecker G2 is something very similar to a Mechanical output...smooth and consistent and the coil lights up instantly....no lag or ramp up unless coloring at low wattages. 100w on the G2 is hotter then most 200w boxes maxxed out. I dont use the TC anymore but that is a added bonus.

Got something VERY Different today.
Wanted to use my coil Building techniques to make an amulet for my mothers Birthday.
Used many different wire materials like copper, brass, gold, SS, Kanthal ribbon.

Coiling techniques i used:
Claptoning, twisting, stagger fuse, Alien wrap, Metal snake spine, helix, staple.

I think i Used around 150 feet of wire in total. Enjoy :DIMG_5610.JPG

Damn that is amazing raymo, did you have to do the spacing and all free hand? Let us know how it vapes!
I do all the spacing by using added tension and leading the wire, I understretch the decore to help llow more lead and tension.
Not exaggerating butthere are my personal favorite vape on a tube...the heat isnt overly hot, but its very warm and smooth...its a consistant warmth and its exactly the vape i search for with building....Ive tried makng 5 ore aliens to get the same vape but in a easier fashion but I think the cores being so close together and less outer wrap makes it too hott too fast and it isnt as pleasant...

I wanted to make something I'm more comfortable doing with this new 40g I have so I spun out some 28g fused claptons. Its not as bad as I thought using the 40 but I can already tell its going to be a sumbitch trying to stagger fuse this stuff. I couldnt see if my spacing was good or if it doubled over or what. I just pulled the trigger wide open and got what I got lol. It turned out pretty nice0326172327_HDR.jpg 0326172337_HDR.jpg 0326172341_HDR.jpg

@Twisted Vaping your framed staples look great. your prep and coiling are perfect. wrapping with 42 is a whole new challenge. the goggles help a lot. mine have a light on them, which really helps too. you can get into a position where it reflects off your wire and makes the small stuff much easier to see. the ring and amulet are also both incredible  what a great gift for a mother

nice work @SignMan  i find that going fast is almost always better than going slow. with 40+ i just try to trust that my angle and tension are good and focus on holding them steadily. how do you like them?

One of the hardest builds in building history, the Alien Staggerton.
Man that is so f*** awesome Hope someday i will be nearly as Good as you!
If i remember right it was you who sucessfully atempted an Alien wrap with... what was it 50GA? I couldnt even imagine how that ist physically possible. Just freakin stunning!

Anyway, todays build should be a Variation of my beloved staple Helix with 3 Twisted cores instead of two that i have Seen on Mimi's Instagram. Easier than i thought when the prep is perfect.

Used 3 Twisted strands of 32, 6ply 0.3 ribbon and 42G Fuse.
6 wrap 3mm ID should Ohm out @ 0.1-0.15 Dual core. As usual, Full N80 Build.

Very good, alot of people have forgotten that build...it really shocks me that I did it in the past, theres no way in hell I would even think of attempting it again!
It was 50g Alien on a single ply of .3 Ribbon....

Everything comes with practice though, there are many from this forum that have grown to the same level in a matter of weeks, which blows me way....Ive been building for almost 2 years+ and its taking me this long to get whee I am...but then again there wasnt much help, no videos back then...and no one liked to share tips or help really, this forum was the exception and I owe most of what Ive learned to all the great people in this thread.

The build you just posted I just made something similar today...I guess great minds think alike?
I was sent the Augvape Druga and to be honest....Im pretty pissed off it didnt turn out better...the RDA is great vaping wise but those screws need fixing. The posts are flat inside and smooth and the screws have less then a millimeter that grabs the wire, so even cranked down as hard as possible with pliers, I still had builds pull right out when adjusting the coils.

Now with a simple fix-a post or stud that is in the center of the domed screw that is longer then the cap, it would look similar to the end of a coaxial cable. It would screw down nd puncture or press on the wire enough to give a better connection and make it so the wire couldnt simply pull out.
I also think there should be a raised section in the middle of the posts so there is something under the leads to grab the leads.

I used a pair of vice grips and got a secure enough grab on the leads to adjust them and then tighten as hard as I could so both coils would glow consistantly with each other. After that it was smooth, the vape is great and the RDA is great on all other accounts but until its fixed it does not earn my approval.

The Merlin RDTA on the other hand is a solid winner and anyone who ants a RDTA or RTA that is made for a builder and has been thought out completely....this is a excellent grab, on 3fvape right now you can get 30% off just for putting it in your cart.

Ive seen a Few Burned Ti Broadsides on Ebay for around $260. The only reason I didnt want the Ti is due to conductivity...stick with the Brass or Copper...you will love it.

The Skill RDA is my #1 RDA right now, before that was the G24, then the Goon RDA.
I rate products based on Functionality alone...the G24 and Skill are very similar but the Skill has a slightly smaller chamber and slightly conical cap and its airflow is better but they are both the best RDAs IMHO.
Great machining and was clean on arrival
Easy to build on (place and tighten)
Can handle just about anything you can make (almost 5mm of posthole...)
Conductivity is up there
Dont need to build to a certain standard to have it vape really well (anything vapes well in it)
Super smooth airflow
Juice well is large and there is space between the posts and deck edge. (love this for wicking)
Can use Goon Tips and the TM24 deck fits the topcap too!

The Skill is a refine G24 but its twice the cost, if you dont have a G24 I highly suggest you pick one up also for $40 from rbavapor.com.

Nice! Thanks for the feedback! Been looking at the G24 for a long time and haven't pulled the trigger on it :/ have u tried the CSMNT much? Right now the CSMNT, Goon, and Apocalypse are what I bounce between the most.. It'd be hard for me to say which I like better tho LoL!

Thanks man i appreciate that. I feel like i get a tiny tiny extra bit of flavor off the 40g than I would say 36g. I really like how 40 looks so smooth from a distance, almost like its not even a clapton wrap. Kinda looks like thick round wire with the naked eye lol. Im getting ready to try and alien this stuff and see how tough that is.

I have the CSMNT...I didnt understand the hype about it after getting one...the afc cap constantly messes with the wicking of the builds becuase for good flavor and heat you have to pull the coils outwards towards the airflow but the edges of where it cuts off the airflow like to grab the wicking...Ive vaped it a few times but I couldnt recommend it. The apocalypse it great...I also have the Elite 2 28mm version but I would suggest getting the 24mm unless your planning on only running series. The 28mm needs really wide coils for it to fit well. The Goon and G24 are a "must have" though

I can't believe it's only $40 now (I just bought it). I've always been a sucker for CompVape stuff, the first RDA I bought was that brand. The G24 is like a Double Vision on Roids and I still use the Double Vision a lot actually and it's one of my favorite 22mm attys.

nicely done @Mista Malice. are those 3mm? i have seen a lot of people say 2.5mm is the limit, but just as many saying they got 3mm to fit. i barely have time to build or have any fun lately, so i tried to play it safe and go with a coil i knew wouldnt blow out and that would fit on the first try...

yeah @SignMan the 40+ starts to come out looking like tinfoil or something. aliens are tough but not out of reach

@Twisted Vaping nice. i like the twisted multicore. sometimes i make aliens like that so i can get the resistance up a bit for some of my regulated mods. lovely builds

I owe most of what Ive learned to all the great people in this thread.

For sure! The first time I built on it, it didn't work out and I had to lift the Coils upwards, use the OG Goon top Cap, and run it kinda like the CSMNT. The side of the Coil made contact with the top Cap and shorted the wire a bit on a Fused Clapton build. Those posted above are 3mm all Nichrome.

Suicide build sesh today, getting my fav atties ready for next week's tour (with my band). Had about 90 minutes to knock it all out. Built the TM24, Merlin Mini RTA (both single & dual coil decks) and the Recoil. Quad-core Aliens in the TM24, and both Merlin Merlin Mini decks. Dropped some standard Aliens in the Recoil. Also whipped up an extra set of Framed Staple Aliens to bring along for a "just in case" situation. I did decide to do a proper shoot for the quad-core Aliens in the TM24, although they aren't a super fun build to look at. I'll post em another time, i haven't quite finished shooting 'em yet.
