Finally got around to testing this out.
Started my build knowing the coil build was odd for this little thing.
Once bending the coil into a knot I figured it looked about right for this configuration.
Decided a good coil for this would be a Comp Wire Triple Caterpillar 0.3X3+0.2mm 28+32GA 3mm ID
20161214_162752.jpg 20161214_162804.jpg 20161214_162822.jpg 20161214_162859.jpg 20161214_163441.jpg

First, I want to mention that the threading and O-rings on this thing are TIGHT!
Not just tight, tighter than the super glue that used to hold that dude's hard hat to the beam that he was hanging from back in the early '80s.

20161214_163622.jpg

Once it was time to put it together....oh shit.
I left the glass connected to the top and just tried to screw it together.
The O-ring bunched up.
I separated the pieces, straightened the O-ring and started again.
Placed a few drops of juice on the O-ring to assist in the process.
This time the O-ring stayed in place.
Just before the glass was fully over the O-ring, the glass broke.
Grabbed the replacement glass from the box and decided to put the glass on separately.
Same thing, just before it passed the O-ring, the glass broke.
Luckily I had purchased the accessory kit that came with 2 additional glass tubes.
Same as the previous time I tried it using the glass by its self.
I was being extremely cautious to ensure I was placing it on as straight as possible.
BAM! Glass number 3 broke.

20161214_170432.jpg

Now I'm pissed and have 3 broken glass tubes for a brand new tank that I haven't even had the opportunity to test.
To make it worse, this one has a build that I haven't tried before.
(Only single coil I've tried was the Wismec Theorem and it sucked ass IMHO)
However, I tried for a fourth time and it went successfully.

20161214_170519.jpg

For a coil that was SUPPOSED to be 0.2Ω I was surprised to see it reading .53Ω.
Tested on three other TABs, the Smok Alien, Hcigar VT133, and Ijoy LUX.
Evidently this is a half ohm coil.
Whatever....

20161214_170535.jpg

Since I am NOT one to read directions before messin with things I was forced to learn the hard way that the top fill cap is NOT threaded.
It is also EXTREMELY tight.
(figured this out after spending 5 minutes TRYING to turn the cap off)
As you can see form the picture, there isn't much to grab onto the try turning.....
(There is a reason for that, don't be a dumb ass like me)
The drip tip is PART OF the top fill cap so just PULL the entire top off to fill.
As you'll notice in the previous picture, the fill holes are plenty big enough.
Not extremely large but easy to fill through.

20161214_170606.jpg

Once all said and done, the Smok Alien reads it at 0.514Ω
With all that said and done, I was FINALLY able to test this thing.
Started right off @ 100 watts.
Not really because I knew that is where I’d want it, but because that is the setting the previous tank that I had on this Alien was set at.
OH SHIT!!!
I was more than shocked.
Shocked AND impressed.
The flavor from this was absolutely amazing.
Yes, I have many other tanks, RTA, RDTA, and RDA but for a first hit I have never tasted such clean and full flavor.
So naturally I just assumed it was due to the amount of time it sat waiting while I decided to get a piece of cake my wife had just made.
I figured after a few more hits it’d weaken up a bit.
The time on this has only allowed me to get through two and a half fills, but damn it, this thing is still just over packed with flavor.
Since I used my daily juice I knew what to expect.
But this surpassed anything I was anticipating.
Even though I broke 3 glass tubes during this, the flavor MORE than makes up for it.
I already have the stainless and the black version but while I was in a chat with vaporworld finding out how great they are and they’ll be sending me replacement, I ordered another pair of these things.
Yes, I also ordered an additional accessory kit just in case.
I consider the black version more of a gun metal.
Would I replace it if lost?
HELL YEAH.
At this minute vaporworld.biz has them for $9.99 and the accessory kit for $6.99
Thanks for reading.

Sounds like you've already convinced yourself of that so it must be a good reason.
Hell, get both colors for a more full, in-depth review.
Maybe one tastes different than the other.
I've only tested the gun metal one so far.
Looking forward to your review to see if there is a difference.
If there is I'll open my other one.
The black is closer to gun metal.
lol

YOU should've replace the oring below the top cap and the one at the base... those 2 orings are way to big.. that's why you broke 3 glasses...

You mean THEY should have replaced the O-rings?

EDIT -- Ok, after breaking the first glass I should have looked closer.
After breaking the second glass I should have replaced the O-rings.

Yeah for that price I picked up two, they also have the Crius Plus for $5, I picked up two of them also. The Crius Plus is a damn good Tank, love the top fill design. I've already got 3 of the Crius Plus's but for $5 I couldn't not pick up a couple more. Geek Vape got the design for the Griffin from the first Crius, just gave you more room.

Anyway thanks for the heads up on the sale, that's really killer prices.

I picked up one of the Crius during the last sale but haven't got around to 90% of all the items I purchased then.
Hopefully I can dig that one out this weekend and test it.
Let's see if it is better than the Engine.

@ej1024 did your flavor diminish rather quickly or did I just use too much cotton?
After just a few fills the flavor got a bit weaker and there was less air.
Might just be swollen cotton.
Which is much better than swollen cranium.

With the high percentage of flavoring I use as well as how sweet it is, I am used to burning through coils and wicks fairly quickly.
Just not THAT quickly.
I'll change the wicking and try again.
I'm sure it's fine, probably just too much wicking.

Watched both reviews.
On the Ohmega Alpha One, thanks for remembering me, lol
I certainly use a lot more cotton than you inside the coil then thin it for the juice channel but looks like your thinner cotton worked fine for you.
Careful not to hurt yourself tightening the tank.

I'm having a bitch of time getting the wicking down on this one.

I have a 3mm ID 316L fused clapton wicked with rayon. I thinned out the tails a bit to get them to sit in the juice channels better.

When I fill it, it gurgles for a bit then stops after a few hits. If I let it sit for a minute, it doesn't wick and I get weak hits using TC.

Any tips from the pros?

So the ends of your wicks almost touch the bottom of the juice flow channels?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Correct. They don't need to fill the whole thing they just need to be in there with room for juice

Made the tails longer and now it's chain vaping really nicely!

Love this tank! It's a cloud and flavor machine, battery and juice saver due to single coil, and super nice build quality. A total steal for $9.99 plus shipping! I haven't dropped in weeks because of it!

I noticed I was having the same issue. The problem is that when you push the cap back on after filling, the pressure coming down on the juice actually pushes your wick right up into the chamber so it no longer reaches the juice. I literally watched it happen as I put the cap back on.
You really have to fill the channels up with nice, loose, fluffy wick so it won't move around on you after you fill and out the cap back on.

Dear god, someone help me with building this tank!!!

I cannot for the life of me seem to get the coil right.... How should the legs be bent to get it in there centered? Also the screws always seem to be loose, not trapping the leads right enough causing all sorts of fun issues.

I've watched Anthony's video 100 times and feel like even more of a yard not being able to figure this out!

Please advise!

The trick is don't worry about the coil. U can fix it later. Get 1 lead in 1st. Then use your jig or whatever to hold the coil in place enough while you get the other lead in. Then use your jig to straighten out the coil and make it pretty

Ok, I got that part, two things:

Obviously one leg has to cross underneath the coil, won't this cause a hot spot or short?

Second, what should I do about the screws not tightening All the way? Every time I try to adjust the coil one or both legs pop free From the screws??

The screws should tighten all the way easily. If the aren't there is an issue.

As far as the coil legs as long as it's not touching any metal it's ok to be bent funny

Ok, gonna give it another go today.

Will change out the screws and hope they tighten correctly.

As far as coil not touching metal, you're referring to the posts etc, but the legs can/may end up touching itself?

Man I feel like a tard...
