I bought a evic vt 60 watt mod (temp.control) with a Kangertech Subtank Mini, using the RDA inside. I have 22,24,& 26 gauge Kanthal A-1 wire. I have Japanese organic cotton. I'm trying to find a warm vape with good flavor. I have 60% VG & 80% VG juice I use. I also have a ulm reader and have all the tools needed to make coils from 1.5mm to 3mm. With this information that I shared , can I get some help on what kind of build I can use to get a warm vape with good flavor? Thanks for the help!

With the Subtank you do not have much room but I would suggest using the 24g and making a 6-8 wrap 2.5mm ID coil.....
This should be a good start and when you get some higher gauge wire then you can go from there, I would invest in some 32g/34g/36g/38g/40g wire also to try claptons, twists, and helix wire types that offer a better vape to single wire coils.

If the 24g coil isnt as warm as you want it try tightly twisting some of the 26g up and making a 5 wrap 2.5-3mm ID coil, just be sure it can fit the screws and chamber space!

When you become more experienced try a vertical coil in the RBA, you will be able to crank the wattage higher and get a warmer vape with more airflow....but again try horizontal builds first as vertical builds are harder to pull of and wick correctly!

I didnt suggest the 22g in the RBA as the wire is large and gets very hot and the wicking most of the time wont draw enough in and you start getting dryhits easier with it. Its too hot for a small RBA and the 24/26 is much more suitable for the size RBA you are using to let us know your results trying what I said. If you like it then great if not Im here to help.

It's a GOOD VAPE ! Nice and Warm with a GOOD flavor! Thanks again for your help raymo2u !
NP, someday maybe you can fashion the coilheads like I have or the RBA too
These are some Atlantis Coilhead Rebuilds and the TFV4 Single Coil RBA(Should be Similar to Subtank RBA...

Its not complicated, just make sure one coil end goes into one negative (side post) and one goes into the positive (center post). Make sure when you think your done that the cap fits without touching the coil or it will short and will need adjustment...The Goblin Mini has a VERY SMALL work space, I used 26g 6 wrap 2mm ID coils in it.

I have that same RDA coming in tomorrow so Ill have fun trying out the same RDA as you have, I love experimenting new builds with new equipment...The flavor performance is always different.

I suggest you try the Griffin RTA out if you find you dont have enough room to work with, its my favorite Tank so far....

Nice clean looking coils!

If you want to get warmer vapor and bigger clouds and flavor try some Parallels. This makes more surface area and will lower your resistance and give you a warmer vape

Here's what it should look like:

Wrap a coil and then use a second wire to follow the wraps of the first, this makes it easier making Parallels. Wire Guage is up to you but I suggest 24g or 26g, Try for 7 or 8 wrap/ 3mm ID Dual Coils.

One day I will learn how to build those great coils you build in the pictures of your mutation x . I don't have any idea where to begin lol

Do you think that a parallel coil would work in my single coil RDA Kangertech mini ?

Youtube is a great place to learn alot about Advanced coils but take your time...These can be dangerous unless your using the right setups and you need to do research on Battery Safety/Ohms Law if you decide to dive into more advanced coil builds.
Thanks for the Compliment!

A Parallel can fit in anything if you remove a few wraps as long as your device can fire it, if your using a Tube mod I suggest nt building less then .2 for now, if your on a Parallel Box Mod or Regulated device be sure it will fire your build safely before using it.

Here's my parallel coil build. I had to use 26 gauge Kanthal so it woul fit under the screws.

Good looking coils. That's my favorite build. Only thing that sounded different, is that I wrap the two wires at the same time, instead of one at a time. I even wrap them at the same time if I'm using a coil jig. 26 gauge kanthal, 7 wraps parallel, 2.5 id, On a dual coil RDA comes in at .22 ohm. I've tried building a lot of different things, and always come back here. Claptons may give better flavor, but I hate the ramp up delay. I think it is really hard to beat parallels for a warm, thick vape.

My favorite builds is a Fused Clapton composed of 2 x 22K/46N60 or 48N60. No ramp up time but still gives the best vape experience for me.

Using thinner outer wrap also allows the wires to be used in smaller RTA/RBA/RDA's without compromising the vape quality. If you can fit a parallel 28g in a RBA/RTA then you can fit a 2 x 30g/40g Fused Clapton and make the experience much more flavorful and warm. I call these smaller Claptons/Fused Claptons Micro and Nano Claptons/Fused Claptons. Here's some pics of size differences of using smaller and smaller cores/outer wrap in Fused Claptons. Giving the same vape in RTA/RBAs that didnt have the ability for those types of coils before can now enjoy the same type of experience with these used in them.
In the Second Picture, to the left/bottom side is some 26g and 28g single wire for a size reference
Micro and Nano Fused Claptons .jpgMicro and Nano Fused Claptons.jpg

This is the Smallest Thinner Fused Clapton Ive ever made...Its 2 x 32K/52N60, as you can see the Macro Lens can capture the details of the woodgrain and penny (Hard to see with Human Eye) but it cant even clarify the detail between the Outer Wrap of the Fused Clapton, You cant even feel the outer wrap's wraps s the wire is 1/10th the thickness of human hair.
