I notice I'm having to vape about 3x longer than it takes to smoke a cig to get a similar level of satisfaction even with 50mg nic salt liquid. Is this due to having an inferior pen style vape and not a box mod? Or are there better eliquids that have a bigger impact? I also seem to cough a lot more from the vape than from cigarette smoke, which seems odd.

Even the Juul was more satisfying and could slate my nic thirst fairly quickly. Any ideas?

You don't mention how long you've been vaping. If you are new to vaping this is normal. We absorb the nic differently with vaping. The nic is absorbed more efficiently through our mucus membranes and it takes a while for your brain and body to adjust. It helps to hold the hit in your mouth for a moment and exhale through your nose. Coughing is also normal for several days, again just your body learning to adjust. Take easy hits and inhale slowly for a day or two. Many aren't told you have to learn how to vape but don't worry it soon becomes second nature same as smoking did. With a bit of practice and time you'll soon be able to hit your vape as you please comfortably.

The coughing can even come after you've done it a few years. We sometimes forget & take bigger draws, filling our lungs, draw again right away. This leads us to what is affectionately called "vapor lock", coughing is the body's way of clearing out your lungs.

Take a little care to not cough so hard as to crack ribs. Aside from that, it isn't something warranting grave concern. Remember, drink some water, drink some more water, no go on drink some more water. Keep yourself hydrated. PG & VG both can dry you out. Your body needs water.

One way to think about vaping is like some other stuff we don't talk about if you've ever tried it. You take draws off of vaporizers like you would if you were using water methods of using that stuff we don't discuss. Go slow and even, relax and try not to worry about getting a "buzz", or if you'll get too much. Your body will let you know. Headaches are a good sign you can lay off nicotine a little bit. Then, drink some more water too. :)

Sooo don't drink water. Got it. kidding, I'll be sure to keep a full glass around :) I've noticed I've been more thirsty and dehydration is definitely no good so I will be extra sure to keep that in mind. Thanks for the heads up! And I do enjoy my Arizer and Pax 3 so I will draw the pen more like those. I've started to figure that out, but I wish there was more draw resistance on the pen. A tighter or more firm draw like a cig would be great.

Not looking for a buzz so much as getting the same level of satisfaction as a cig. Which I do, sort of, eventually. I looked at the eliquid I have and it's actually 40mg. Maybe I should go up to 50 ... but would that be more of a throat hit? Or is that more determined by PG/VG?

More often than not, your nicotine plays a factor in throat hit. With you using nicotine salts I think you can up the level, until you feel a peppery throat hit. Lots of people tend to not enjoy that peppery feeling. That too can be a sign you are getting too much nicotine.

I use what is called freebased nicotine at 18mg per ml of VG. Like to use max VG juice myself for a few different reasons. I am not exactly a cloud chaser but do enjoy seeing modest clouds at least. :) Also for me VG provides a better texture over PG. I lack sense of smell hence lacking a range of sense of taste. I find other ways to get pleasure from vapor.

Many people lower their nicotine ratios once they switch to using RDAs like I do. I have not done that. I vape a bit less juice than a lot of people due to that, as well. On average I might vape approximately 5 ml per day. Seen people that vape 10 to 20 ml per day. Some of them are only vaping 6 or 3 mg per ml nicotine though. It averages out in what I vape to what they vape.

Another tip to consider if using a tank or RDA, try adjusting the air flow control. Some people enjoy a restricted direct lung hit, others like a loose mouth to lung hit. The airflow can often help a person where they desire being. I see you possibly know the stuff we don't discuss here. Yes, you need to hit or draw on ejuice vapes like that as well. I'm sure if I told you volcanoes rock you'd understand fully. :)

Vaping is not cigarette smoking, for sure.

Smoking damages cilia, hair like projections in lungs. When we quit smoking, even while vaping cilia repairs and maybe even regenerates it's self. The repair can cause coughing as your body gets used to getting back that cilia.

Well, I do have a few 50mg salts on the way. One's a classic tobacco and the other is glazed doughnut ... which I can't possibly imagine actually tastes like a doughnut but we'll see lol

I actually have an Aspire Zelos or w.e. it's called. I bought it a looong time ago (it's the first model) but never really used it. Problem w. It it it's just too bulky to throw in my pocket and walk around w. It all day. The refillable Rubi pen is the perfect size. I wish there was a box mod even smaller than the aspire in the form factor of a pen w. The features and benefits of the box. Maybe it exists? Idk, I don't want to spend any more money on it right now though.

Oh and I thought the juul was giving me tonsillitis but I think it was actually just a bad case of vaper's tongue combined w. A LOT of dehydration. Because it started to come back today and when I made sure to drink lots of extra water it went away, so thanks for the heads up it helped a lot!

I do like volcanoes, but I will say I'm quite happy with my ArizerEQ, for the price it's pretty darn good. You def. get a step up in quality on the volcano's tho for sure.

    Khmer: សូមស្វាគមន៍។

    Vietnamese: Bạn được chào đón.

    English: You're quite welcome.

I suggest Google Translate. It may not be the most accurate, though it does well.

The level of satisfaction IMHO is because vaping is more satisfying than smoking. I was vaping up to 40 to 60 or more ML's a day at one point but have slowed down to around 15 or 20 ML's a day now with the same 3MG for the last almost 5 years. Good Luck
