A vendor sent me a box of fakes, dozens of batteries, that he received after saying no to the supplier’s offer to send samples. They were sent anyway. This vendor will not be named because they do not sell fakes and were never going to sell these samples. They were sent to me for testing and to help warn the community about how widespread fakes really are.

The fakes in the box were 30Q’s, HE4’s, 25R’s, HG2’s, 30T’s, VTC5’s, VTC5A’s, and VTC6A 21700’s.

I have read some of the other posts since then on this subject and Mooch gives details on each type of the fakes.

Be safe buy only from mooch recommended battery vendors.

Got some lg hg2 that i swear are fakes. Not horrible bats just not up to par with wat i know ty o b authentic performance

I saw a post on here today with a link to reddit where they claim Mooch said that any Samsung 30Q's that don't have a second digit with 0 are fake. Anyone know if this in fact is true?

I bought these at a B&M yesterday and the owner is saying they're legit but the second digit is an 8, not a 0

If it was the link above then the link is Moochs post and I trust Mooch on Vaping battery stuff.
If the BM guy disagrees with Mooch, believe Mooch.

Cap styles? Not so much

BTW those silver stickers are NOT put on there by Samsung.
Samsung does not sell 30Q's for individual use in vaping equipment.
They only sell for use in battery packs and such.
Resellers put those stickers on there.

Btw for those not familiar with Mooch. He was a battery expert/professional before he became an advocate for vaping battery safety and accurate labeling of cells used in vaping.
I seriously doubt that there is even 1 B&M vape shop worker that even comes close to Mooch's expertise on batteries used in vaping.
Mooch is NOT a vape reviewer he IS an electronics power systems professional.

I'm familiar with Mooch, started watching his videos when I got into mechs. The guy's an unsung hero in the community for all that he does.

Yep anyone can be a vape reviewer or work in a B&M but to do what Mooch does requires training and experience.
