I'm working with wood that's 1/2"/12.7mm. I can't drill all the way through the wood or it will show. So hopefully less than .5" is deep enough for a threaded connector, and it can be raised a bit after installed.
Anyone know what connector I can use?
What about this? If it comes apart, I think the ss threaded part is short enough and I could just pre-drill and screw it into the wood.
The ss part of these look the same, but idk. The height of the short one is listed as taller than the tall one.

Since I'm only interested in the ss part, do they come apart easily?

It looks to me like they would be easy to get apart in the close ups.

Brilliant idea....

I also think they will work, and cheap with that free shipping.
I have this handy little dandy and I wanted the attys to be secure on one of those top shelves.

But for now I've decided to just get a few ss stands for their heavy base. I'll put non slip pads on the bottom of 'em to keep them stationary and protect the top. I'll probably use the connectors down the road when I get a few more tanks and drip tips will go up there too.
