Kidney Stones

People of ancient civilizations often blamed meteors and comets for famine and natural disasters. They didn’t know any better. Celestial events sometimes coincided with the disasters, so the ancient people assumed there was a connection. This was utterly ridiculous of course, but fact is, this is what their thought process was.

I think a lot of the reported health related problems associated with vaping are in the same category. Chances are that many people would have the same problem with or without vaping.

Ok, I got that out of the way...

I started vaping 5 years ago. I’ve had 2 kidney stones in the last 15 months.

I have a science background. I run a large software development organization. I rely on data, math, science and statistics before drawing any conclusions.

In this case, I see 4 factors that could lead me to a conclusion here:

1) Started vaping approximately 5 years ago (maybe more).
2) Dehydration is a significant contributor to kidney stones.
3) Vaping dehydrates you.
4) 2 kidney stones in 15 months.

So am I like the people of ancient civilizations or is there really something to be concerned about here?

Anyone else experience kidney stones that suddenly coincided with vaping?

Actually I used to have kidney stones every couple of years.
Started drinking Mr Dew instead of water for the most part and no stones since.
Also been vaping 4+ years and no stones.

For which I am VERY grateful.

Edit: also all of my stones were from the same kidney.
Based on my experience with them a period of dehydration can cause an already formed stone to come loose and become a blockage.
I credit the citric acid in Mt Dew with preventing more stones for me.
Maybe....
