Hard time getting pictures to upload.

Hello all, Having a hard time getting photos uploaded with the posts.
Most of the time it tells me file too large.
It has worked at times but mostly not at all.
It appears that the photos I take are 4000x3000 res. That's what it says when I scroll over them.
I think that's the problem.
I'm no computer whiz. Anybody got a fix?

Me, I just open them with Paint and resize them, if I'm on my computer. Even a snippet tool like the one that was pre-installed, or one like Lightshot from Chrome. I've not had an issue with posting pics from my phone.

Also an option, you could use an image host, like imgur, I suppose.

I use Imgur, it's just so much less of a hassle to copy and paste a link.

My preference is to do like Huck and simply resize so I keep the original and also retain my images locally. Recently one of the file hosts decided to extort all the users by making a free service now be a paid one.
