First we see this:

"Canada’s cigarette smoking rate reached its lowest recorded level last year at 15 per cent, but 20 per cent of young people have tried vaping, the first national survey on electronic cigarette use suggests."

"Canada’s smoking rate reached its lowest recorded level"

"Public Health" Nazis should be cumming in their pants after seeing that statement.

But as usual if you didn't
A) Quit
B) DIE
They don't give a fuck

So it appears that 20% of "young people" have "tried" vaping.

Then we see this:

"Among those aged 15 to 19, current smoking prevalence was 11 per cent or about 225,000 teens in 2013, the same as in 2012. When Health Canada first reported on current smoking by this age group in 2011, the rate was 22 per cent."

Even though this has NOTHING to do with vaping it is a GOOD thing that the smoking rate has dropped in HALF amongst teens from 22% in 2011 to 11% in 2013.
Vaping is really putting a dent in the smoking rate isn't it?

Now we get to the Smoke & Mirrors:

"The Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey of 14,500 people was conducted for Health Canada, and asked about the use of e-cigarettes.

Overall, nine per cent, or 2.5 million people aged 15 and older, said they had ever tried one.

"The survey includes the first national data on e-cigarette use, which will add to the growing body of knowledge Health Canada is gathering to determine next steps in regulating this product," the department said in a release.

Among those aged 15 to 19, 20 per cent, or 417,000, said they had tried e-cigarettes, as did 20 per cent of people 20 to 24 — a "substantial number," said Rob Cunningham, a senior policy analyst with the Canadian Cancer Society in Ottawa."

First they only surveyed 14,500 people.

Where did they take the survey?

In the parking lot of a vape shop?
In the ghetto?
in a rich neighborhood in the suburbs? etc...

We all know by now how these surveys work.

They ask have you EVER tried Vaping?
Just ONE puff?
You answer yes and you are now a user.

So if 20 people in 9th grade tried vaping in 2011 and then 20 different people tried vaping in 9th grade in 2012 and then 20 new people try vaping in 9th grade in 2012

You will have a 300% increase in ecig use amongst High School teens from 2011 to 2013!

Even though they may have tried just one puff or they used to smoke and are practicing THR just like us.

But of course the truth is out of the 20% of people vaping between the ages of 15 to 19 the ones 18+ aren't really doing anything wrong since it's perfectly legal for them to smoke deadly tobacco cigarettes.

So did they survey 14,000 people age 18 and 19 then 500 under 18?

How do we know how many of those vapers are under 18?

They purposely let the most important number out!

Why not survey minors age 14 to 17 then adults age 18 to 24?

Because it wouldn't be possible to put up scary numbers like 20%.

They would have to tell the TRUTH

Public Health has never been very good with honesty.

Then there is this:

"Among Canadians who said they had tried an e-cigarette, 55 per cent said it did not contain nicotine. Another 26 per cent said it did and 19 per cent were unsure."

55% aren't even using nicotine!!! 19% were unsure???

We know for sure they aren't steady users if they didn't even know if there was nic in the eliquid or not!

Therefore 74% of them either don't use nicotine or aren't steady users!
1/4 of 20% means only 5% of EVER USERS were vaping using nicotine

See? Smoke & Mirrors!

Now we have this:

"Approximately, one half [51 per cent, or 696,000] of current or former smokers who had ever tried an e-cigarette reported using it as a cessation aid in the past two years,"

There is nothing bad about that statement.

This part kind of got to me:

"The survey did not include questions about the success of using e-cigarettes to quit regular smoking."

Why the fuck didn't they ask if the smokers were successful in switching to vaping or not in the survey?

Did they run out of space on the page?

The answer is sadly: They don't give a fuck!

Big Pharma can now continue pushing useless NRT or the suicidal/homicidal Chantix and continue to rip of smokers who are desperately trying to quit smoking.

They do not want smokers to know that vaping works because they don't have their greedy hands in that cookie jar YET! - 5150
