Ah, the hundred acre wood. Nice!
I'm battling the 2 acres I've got. OMG I'm too old to be working my ass off like I've been.

When we were trying to find a house to buy, we looked at one that had about an acre, and really liked it... but for various reasons, decided to keep looking; my husband is SOOOOOOO glad that we found this one, which has just a quarter-acre (actually .26 acre), and is just 2.5 miles from his work! :D

But I still want a fancy sliding-door shower like that other house.

Those showers are nice. That's what I always wanted too.
A wren built a nest in one of my folding chairs on the porch under the hot hot roof. So, I've been working my butt off the past few days trying to cool it off so they wouldn't burn up. Only one egg was hatched at first but now 4 have hatched. They are so incredibly tiny. The size of my pinky fingernail.
My internet at home has also been out a lot so that's another reason I haven't been on.

Well, on the plus side, if a shower curtain gets all soap-scummed and mildewy.... toss it and buy another! Lots less work! :giggle: Actually I got tired of being nearly blind in my shower, and bought a transparent shower curtain off amazon, which has that finish that resists mildew -- had it for a year now, and yep, it really does! I'm totally amazed!

I put a light in my shower.

Much easier, safer, and cheaper to just buy a clear shower curtain -- I keep the fixture over my sink loaded with 2 100w lightbulbs, so everytime my husband changes one for me, he announces that I'm cleared to perform surgery. :giggle:

never been, never want to go.
Gambling and shows does not interest me.
The Baptists can have their conventions there if they want to though :)

I agree about gambling; utterly stupid. But I'd like to see some of the shows, and especially some of the amazing *excess* of the place; I think it would tickle my funnybone... but only briefly. I doubt I could tolerate a whole week there, being neither a gambler nor a drinker.

Last time I went to a casino in New Orleans they wanted $30 a person for the buffet. Seeing how we just won a little over a grand we went ahead and ate there. Dont think I been to a Casino since.

Go to the one in Kenner. The Treasure Chest. It's cheaper and the all you can eat buffet has snow crab(as well as lots of other stuff). It's great food and you would qualify for the senior citizen discount. :D Also, Kenner has not banned vaping indoors like Nola has.

Man, I couldn't live without central AC. Not just the heat, though that's bad enough, but the damn humidity... it's like trying to breathe JELLO!

I actually got to ride the Treasure Chest casino when they made the river boat casino's sail. Pissed many of us off when they dropped that requirement.

So I mention your name and I can get a senior discount.....good to know :giggle:

Sometime today me and wife will go to Parkersburg. She wants to purchase
a window model air conditioner. Been too hot already, here.

I have a window unit to help the outside unit out. Had to replace it a few months ago and I ordered one from Walmart. Free shipping and like 2 days for it to be delivered. Think I bought an 8K BTU unit and it was around $200.

We've got 3 window units, each 5k BTU I think; that last place we rented, the central air broke and the landlady wouldn't get it fixed, so I had to have a unit in my bedroom, so I could breathe. My husband now wants to put one of them in the wall in the garage, but I hate to think what that would do to our electric bills in the summer, since there's no insulation in the garage, and the bigass rollup door is like a sieve.

Went to Mineral Wells, instead of Parkersburg. The unit is a 10K BTU for slightly under $300. Wife surprisingly was granted a nice credit card. We spoke and it is agreed the she and if I need to use it, we are damn careful in ensuring any bill is paid on time, fully. Hoping her sister does not not catch wind "oh sis got money". No sis don't. We don't want any further in the hole.

My 10,000 BTU window unit quit last year after only about 15 years of use. Junk I tell ya!
I had 2 5,000 BTU units I put side by side in a 2 bay window.
They are newer and more efficient than the old 10K one was.

Well, fifteen years ought to suit for us. Hoping to have caught ourselves up and be in the process if not moved into our own place by then at the very least. *sigh* I recall growing up how we thought by twenty five you would be married, in a full time career that paid well, own your own home. Recently, watched an interesting movie that was allegedly stating a good bit of that dangerous Truth stuff.

The movie was called 13 Hours. It was about the Benghazi incident. In it one of the guys makes a statement. "Yeah, I used to be young and dumb once. I believed in being part of something larger. We're here now and the something larger ain't here no more." Guess this kind of fits with George Carlin's notion of the American Dream, if you're awake you see that a dream is all it will ever be, shattered at that.

On a lighter and more of an upbeat tone, I got a little vape mail today. :) I am trying the first bit of Mushi organic cotton for a wick. Am compelled to say that so far, I'm impressed, more so than I thought for to start out. It seems to make my vape taste like cotton candy in an odd but pleasantly surprising way. :) Not going so far to say I quit the church of Rayon, though we'll see. * chuckles * Never can tell with me. I'm never in my right mind, or left one despite indeed being left a lot. :D :) :p

ETA: Alright. Something to be said when wick can visibly be seen to draw juice up. I also think heard the Mushi cotton going "sluuurp". Trying a different flavor juice and finding the cotton doing well using it, too. It is not the same cotton candy taste but the juice is not tainted either by the cotton. The other juice with being a bit menthol might have taken the spun sugar taste.

Also, I am getting a new as in brand spanking new out of the box motherboard. :) I'll also get 4 GB of new RAM. This is first actual "new" bits of a computer I've bought in like 10-15 years. *chuckles* Built a Frankenstein then for around $400 - $600, custom to suit going to Linux, not really super high end but rough n tough enough to do me about ten years. The hardware went out before the software. Had to then go rummage through dumpsters, "hey bud got parts", "so and so had this, not sure it works but .." in order to get the beast running again.

Wife finally told me this evening, "you need a "new" computer." She's thinking the recent bought of 'troubles' I'm bashing my noggin against is a memory leak RAM, or even ROM. In either case she does not want me insanely recalling assembler & going into a psychotic fit to 'fix' said memory leak. She is sadistic for sure but apparently also values her life. :)

Today makes 52 years for me and I got as a present a grinning wiggling little boy full of kissies and very happy to help me eat pizza and chocolate cake :). She opened up the front door and he ran in and jumped all over me because he was so happy to see me. Cant ask for a better present than that!

Memory leaks are software issues.

Yes and I did further research on that. Seems even if there is some programming having a leak, Linux the operating system will address it itself, until it no longer can keep abreast. I did also sort out what program/s were having memory leaks & as I suspected Firefox is a sieve.

This current version of the Frankenstein is also rather old hardware wise, has been "dropped" a few times due to brown outs or lightning strikes. It was an off sale to the kids from the school what had bought them probably a decade ago. *chuckles* I'm sure there is a limit as to what computing hardware can withstand.

Also minor correction, I'm using Muji cotton and not Mushi as I had earlier stated. Misread the name before.

 :) Happy run around nakey day! :) My Hellions this morning were having a day to play "TV" for papa. The hut we built for them has two windows in it. These do have a pane of glass, plexi in them so as to be windows and not slots they can just hop out. Well, Sherlock decided to make a terrorist threat. Up in the window I see the face of his sister "Hammy", then a blur of Sherlock bringing her down out of the window. Next I see "Grouchy's" face and again the Sherlock blur. Of course, i also saw all of them were grinning and just poking fun.

They got out yesterday morning into their "yard". One of them, all of them, had pulled away the doggy door board I put up in the hut to shut them in. Well, I fed them and put them back in the hut, come on and did my stuff, went to MIL's for supper, come back down and behold they're all out in the yard again, over in front of the hut and shade laying. Grouch goes up under the hut and likes the dirt bed. Ergo, i think today was the "look papa, I'll take the kids out if we don't get out" threat. *chuckles*

Now, something for Lucy. :) I hope you're having a great trip.

Hello all, I read the first page on dolphin sex, laughed, shit myself & just had to drop a message :)
