Does battery matter for 521 tab mini?

Sometime in the next few months, I plan on getting the coil master builder kit that has all the tools and stuff needed. And I just want to know if the battery for the tab mini really matters that much? Can I just get a cheapo 18650 since it'll be used so little? Or is a high amperage battery still needed? It's not like it's gonna be up in my face or in my pocket to cause bodily damage. And I don't really plan on doing any huge complex builds (if that even makes a difference)

Also, is the above mentioned kit worth it, or would it be cheaper to piece everything together myself? I know that pretty much every rebuildable comes with its own screwdriver or Allen key, and some people use nail clippers to snip the coil leads. So all I think I would really need to buy is ceramic tweezers, and a small set of precision screwdrivers to use for wrapping coils.

It's worth it. The jug makes precision wrapping easier. The screwdrivers and hex keys are head and shoulders above what comes in most kits, the 521 Tab is also nice. The curved tweezers really do assist with wicking, and the ceramic tweezers really do help with coil tweaking.

Now, as to the battery... you're asking if saving a buck by buying a cheap cell is worth it... is running the risk of accidentally injuring yourself, your gear, your home worth that $1 savings? I say this with no knowledge of what cell you're thinking of buying, but when a good LG HE2 was just sold on sale for $3... and an LG HB6 can be had for around $6, buying a $2 to $5 rewrapped accident waiting to happen is a no go.

If you expect to test and fire a coil at a certain wattage I would recommend a battery that could actually fire the coil at that wattage and not a cheap low cost cell that might just work. Just my opinion and not based on personal experience.

IMO --- Treat it no different than a MOD. Get good authentic cells and get a higher AMP cell with less mAh -- This will let you test / fire all ranges of coils and you don't really need the mAh because your not vaping on it. When i'm done testing coils, I just plug my mini-tab back into the USB power to charge it.

The LG HB4 (30A 1500mAh) | LG HB6 (30A 1500mAh) is my go to cell setup for my 521 tabs and only $5.00ea
