can't hard;y stand store bought juices anymore..too sweet...to over the top on flavorings...and honestly my tastes are a 180 degrees from the direction most e-juices are headed.

Don't feel bad - got hooked on Caramel Waffle Crunch and had to break a huge "commercial juice ban"
Gotta find a way to duplicate that stuff - I think there is something addictive in it we are not allowed to talk about on VU but is sold in rock form on street corners in the ghetto

I not ashamed per se, but my ego is a little bruised and my wallet much lighter since discovering this stuff

I haven't bought any juice outright in a long time, I have however paid the fees to keep the friggin' FDA happy on some that I won a few times. If push came to shove there are a few that I'd consider buying again, but I'm really too happy vaping my DIY stuff to do that and always spend any spare money on new flavors anyway.

The small town I live in doesn't have a B&M so I don't get that temptation. The last time I bought vendor juice was almost 2 years ago at a B&M I stopped at in Kona while I was in Hawaii for work. I went in just so I could shoot the shit with some fellow vapers and bought a couple of bottles to be nice to the shop for being nice to this haole...

I did almost exactly the same thing in Hilo a year ago last February. That is when I discovered Pop Deeze - and a long quest to find a clone recipe for that.
The clone recipe is still my ADV - but this waffle crunch shit is messing with my life
I mainly diy too but a friend brought over Charlie's Chalk Dusk "Mr. Meringue" and omg is it good! Had to buy it as a treat.

the last vendor juice I bought was Oct. 24 of last year. I remember because we were at this casino for our anniversary and I seen a bottle with 2 skeletons on it. one had a suit and the other had a wedding dress on. I thought oh hey how cool Ill get it. all its consisted of was about 20% dulce de leche. .... the bottle was cool though

Yeah, I thought I liked my juice on the sweet side - until I ended up with several different bottles of this and that, from contests and gimmes
Most are overly flavored and overly sweet

That's the best way to start DIY IMO, find a clone of what you know you like and then tweak it to be the best it can be
Find a recipe online that a lot of people are using, follow it as close to a T as you can on the first batch (use the brand of flavor recommended, etc) and most of the time you will get a pretty decent - if not spectacular - juice
