Good to know! I'll track down these threads when I get a chance.
I am really open about my history with anyone who wants to know. According to a poll that I read, 1-2 out of every 10 people are addicted to drugs or alcohol. Think about the people you know that may be in hiding because our society takes an approach that addicts are bad, or immoral, or weak. It's all bullshit. I'm very honest with my four daughters because, after all, they have an elevated chance of having to deal with this in their lives. Best to know now that you don't have to burn down your life before getting help. Kids get it too. My 9 year old told me the other day that my future is going to be amazing. How often do you hear such a beautiful thing from an adult?
Congrats on 25 years! I find that to be very inspiring.
As for xxxx, I don't see any reason why people shouldn't smoke or otherwise consume it. My eldest makes cani-butter for people with chronic pain. I used it for a few months and it helped, but I hate the feeling of being stoned all the time. That said, I've just been dealing with pain and I've had to learn to deal with it so that it doesn't make me very depressed. Chronic pain is one of those things that you can't understand unless you've dealt with it. Cbd seems really promising for me, except that I cannot afford to test positive for mj. Apparently you can test false-positive. That's a shame!
Lastly, I have a really close friend that works in the corporate world and can not be identified as a person in recovery. I suppose that's partially why I'm sensitive to the topic.
