Calculations for building twisted coils

I have just started building coils for my kangertech mini and wanted to try a twisted coil. Usherly I would use steam engine for my calculations for my coils but there is no option for this. I was wondering what gage wire is best what diameter and roughly how many wraps for a .5 ohm coil.

Steam engine actually offers an advanced tab for twisting wire. www.steam-engine.org
