BTFC RDA readong "shorted" and .03 with no coil

My original BTFC RDA arrived with machining issues but it still worked. So the company sent me a replacement BTFC RDA with perfect machining.

However, the new RDA is reading "Shorted" and between .02 and .03 with no coils installed. And with coils installed (brand new claptons) it also reads "shorted" The mod is Topside Dual and all other RDAs read fine.

I cleaned the new RDA thinking metals may be let behind shorting it but no cigar, still reads shorted.

Any advice?

Since it is on a Topside dual I'll assume you have the squonk pin in, is it tight? Does that rda come with a solid pin that you can try to see if you still get a short message?

Good call on the pin.
Can you try it on another mod?
Did the resistance change with the coils in?
Take the cap off and see if it's still shorting?
