I'd bet Trump doesn't know the first thing about vaping and the products associated with it....the communists (SJW's, leftists, libs et al) are probably feeding him the old song and dance to benefit the rewards of big tobacco.....when he does learn what vaping is, the lives it saved (and saving), he'll be picking a different tune, I'll bet on it. That goes for his wife too, not a clue what's going on, just what they read and hear, which is 95% Bad
I enjoyed this article quite a bit. Good find, buddy. Thanks for posting it.
I'd be very pissed off at Trump if he did do it. If it's perceived as him being persuaded by the left then people would have a legitimate beef with it. However, how many people right now believe that anything he does is "Capitulating to the demands of liberal...activists."?
This really is all that matters. I'm glad to see that this man seems to understand that.
If there ever were a time I'd love to be wrong, it's now, but he is however a lot more optimistic regarding the influence that vapers wield in the political realm than I am. His examples are not airtight at all.
If the president's advisors were to become convinced of what this article is saying and hence convince him, it would make a world of difference though. At least at the national level.
If played wisely by a sharp campaign manager it could be sold as the ever independent Donald Trump defying big tobacco and big pharma in the name of truth, the public good and even saving the children from the real threat. Don't hold your breath. There's plenty of Republicans on the anti vaping bandwagon too. This one is not a pet project of the left.
There's some interesting discussion on the author's TWITTER FEED
Even listing the numbers of vapers in each state doesn’t really mean anything, unless each and every one went out and voted. I agree, this isn’t left or right; it boils down to personal belief. And stupid lives on both sides.
And voted for which effectively pro vaping candidate exactly?
Are the alternatives any more likely to be pro vaping themselves?
I read a comment that said Trump won Michigan by 11,000 votes and there are 442,000 vapers in Michigan. Same can be said for a lot of swing States

I wonder how they came up with these numbers. I’m so bummed now. These week has just so sucked.
I really appreciate hanging out here at VU and being able to talk to people who get it. ️

But the point is, what if he loses? Which candidate on the Dem side is pro vaping? There ARE other issues to consider when voting too. Like national defense, the geopolitical arena, the budget/taxes etc.
I've been around here a little while now. You guys all know I've become a true hobbyist. I love vaping and I love my gear. This situation is not a simple one as far as how we are to respond to it. It's even worse for those for whom vaping is a life saving alternative to tobacco.
I never was a smoker. I vape because I like it. It would suck, but If I had to I'd live without it. It's the principle of the thing though. Why should even somebody like me be forced to abandon vaping because some tyrannical nanny state politicians have made that decision for me?
Again. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not very optimistic for the short term .By which I mean the next few years. 20 years from now I'm betting society will be looking back at this time as the age of ignorance as it pertains to vaping. I think we're going to have go through a not super short season of wilderness wanderings for the public to sort that out though.
The people who are calling these shots right now already have it sorted. They know that the mainstream vaping we are engaged in is not the cause of these health issues and that it's healthier by far than smoking. The president and our governor are not calling these shots either. That's not who I mean. They're bowing to the people who are and they have every politically motivated reason to do that until public opinion changes.
The thesis of the dailydot article is speculative and anything other than conclusive, which brings up 2 quick things.
NObody can win a presidential election in this country without the backing of one of the 2 major parties. At best they can bleed off enough votes from one candidate to hand the whitehouse to the other (Ross Perot/long story) Even if they snuck through an election with party backing, they cannot ever put any long term policy on the street without that backing once in office. A United States president is not king of the country. He cannot enact law by fiat decree. Even if personally pro vaping, which is anything other than a given, he would tow the party line once elected. They all do. Getting elected to and staying in office, even at the senatorial level, is NOTHING like doing so at the presidential one.
Also, I would publicly burn myself at the stake and have somebody put it on youtube before voting for Bernie Sanders. Vaping or not.
I already know all that.
I can barely wait to see that vid!
