An odd request: A fair chance to join the Facebook group

As per the May 3rd post, announcing VaporJoes reaching 78,000,000 hits, I went to join the FB group where "deals are still being posted in real time"...

That's exactly what I did-- Requested to join the closed group last night, I checked Facebook when I got up this morning and I was banned from the group. (I had a friend check to see if the page was still up)

What's the beef? It sounded like an open invitation to join. This is the first time I've even just attempted to get involved in a vaping community. If this is what vaping communities are typically like then I'm fine where I am. Otherwise, I would appreciate it if an admin could rectify the situation.

FYI: My FB account is linked to my forum account here. I will share my FB username by PM only.

I'm thoroughly confused. There's nothing suspicious about my FB username (quite the opposite), yet I was banned from the group before even being able to view the group or even participate.

I've been forum going for at least a decade. I know what to do and what not to do. I'm not a troll, and I'm not a leech. And as far as deals go, I am very careful to search first-- so as to not post a deal that has already been shared. (I share deals occasionally @ slickdeals.net)

I realize where I originally posted may not be the most efficient place to post my problem, so I've quoted it here as the final place I plan to mention it. I would appreciate if someone could address it as soon as humanly possible.

I'd like to be a positive member of the community (both on FB and here), but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

Sorry, we screen most requests to join, and your FB page may of not contained any info as per being a Vapor or it was a new account without content. But now since we know who you are please post your FB name so we can add you to the group. There are so many porn trolls, so we are careful who we add.

This is the first time I've even just attempted to get involved in a vaping community.

Hopefully two admins adding some reassurances in less than an hour takes some of the sting away. Because <sarcasm> at the moment, it seems this forum has its fill of people joining-while-bitter. </sarcasm> Long story.

There is a wide range of nut cases who want a piece of the vaping community. Anti-vaping researchers posing as breathless/curious vapers, people plugging batteries with highly exaggerated claims, broke vapers looking for a handout, typical spammers closer to what Smokie was referencing.

The good news is that it takes so long to notice the magnitude, you'll already be settled in here and the nut cases will be nothing more than background noise.

Ask about anything you need help with. Treat others like you want to be treated. And above all, stay the hell out of the Mud Pit.
Do that, and it's unicorns and rainbows from here on out.

That makes sense. I do have a few public posts, but the majority of my content is private. Profile picture may have thrown a red flag-- I've had spam accounts add me with names like "Free iPhone Case" etc etc. I just happen to be in phone sales. Or perhaps I should say legitimate phone sales, lol. No way I can make a sale with anyone without them meeting me in person at my store.

Now on a more vape related note... Swiped up one of the Artery Nugget mods thanks to VaporJoes. Not much of a mod compared to my Joyetech Cuboid, but I plan on keeping it at work for when I forget my vape at home. Beats the tar out of buying one of those Blu disposables, lmao

If I may, a faster way to find me: use a keyboard shortcut! Ctrl+F, then type my last name. Due to family history, I guarantee I'll be the only one on that list with my last name.

Hopefully it shows the full list in once piece. If its one of those "loads more as you scroll down" forms, yeah, I guess it'll still take a while. I'll be patient in the meantime! Thanks for the help
