Hello my name is...lets go with seed, and im pretty new to vapeing
In my serchs of this topic and that relateing to vapeing i often end up on some post or another here.
So i have decided to actually make a account here on underground to pick brains and educate myself further. Hopefully it will help as i live in a very backwards small country town and no one here vapes
Like think of your steriotypical country setting trucks, cowboys, and smokers.....thats where i live lol
    Anyways onto some questions

First and formost my device is the smok GX 2/4 with a big baby beast tank. I am not able to spend a ton on multiple devices so im stuck with this

My first question is... Is vapor flavor suposed to be like a subtle after taste, as a smoker for years i cant help but feel like its..lacking a punch and makes me crave a smoke

2nd iv looked into mouth and lung hits iv tryed both, i can feel the hit in my mouth and throught but not in my lungs, is this just the difference between smoke and vapor? Agin feels like idk theres something missing when i hit the vape and agin makes me crave how smokeing felt

3rd so iv read that rba is a cheaper way to vape as aposed to buying these pricy couls wich cost more than a pack a day smokeing allmost due to coil life. Im planing on getting into building my own coils and eventually makeing my own juice mainly for cost reasons but.....

Im not very smart and iv tryed to look into ohms law and tbh i just dont get it, is there a dumb dumb guide or something that i can just watch and replicate the steps for makeing coils without knowing all the math and stuff, really dont wanna blow my face up on my first try XD

Like i think im going to get the smok rba thing but what wire shuld i use for my rig set up, and does it work well with this wick called ready x wick?

And last question while i can taste or rather feel menthol rather well in menthol juice
Every non menthol juice iv tryed so far tastes wierd or not at all like what the flavor says, example i tryed a cotton candy expecting sweetness instead i got bitter and just bad. Is this a inharent thing with vapor or what?
Also for flavor shuld i get a narrow tip drip tip to condense the vapor right as it gos into my mouth, i care more about taste since i wont ever be at a vapcon or anything chaseing clouds is pointless for me

If you guys could provide links with good places online to buy supplys and juices and such that TAKE PAYPAL id really appritiate it

Vaping IMO is almost nothing like smoking..... You can get close, you can get Better but not the same. Getting your vape to FEEL like smoking is going to require a combination of finding the right coil or build and using it right wattage and with the right juice....... Flavor IMO comes after getting the first three right.... AND RIGHT for you may not be what is right for anyone else....

Most of your FEEL issue may be just do to the PG/VG ratio and nic level of the juice.. PG offering more FEEL than VG and Nic content also affecting feel based on dosage delivered. 3mg/ml at .1ohm and 100 watts can DELIVER more nic per hit than 24 mg/ml at 10watts 2ohms. Although the 2ohm coil in the right atomizer might give more FEEL. Flavoring does factor in as some flavors impart more FEEL than other flavors. experiment with PG/VG levels and nic levels. Although boring I suggest using UNflavored juice till you get the feel you want. If trying to quit smoking... keep smoking till you get the vape dialed in. I quit after 40 years in 6months without trying to quit.

When it comes to building coils use a good coil building tool like Steam-engine.org to model builds before running them. buy a few rolls of wire and experiment. If you have an atomizer that uses coil heads, you like... disect a head and try to duplicate it's build using SE in an RBA. This is how I learned to build. If you are using a mod with circuitry you will be safe as long as your batteries can handle maximum potential amp draw of the mod, based on max wattage and minimum ohm limits. Regulated or otherwise protected mods wont FIRE a coil at an OHM too low or unsafe for the mod.

    Alright man, here goes!

    - get COTTON for wicking, not ready x wick

    - get these things:
coil jig to wrap wire into coils
    https://www.fasttech.com/products/3034/10010836/1986902-vaping-coil-winding-jig-tool-for-rebuildable

    WIRE -
    https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10014903/2675200-authentic-ud-kanthal-a1-heating-wire-for

Flush Cutters, look this has cotton with it
    https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10019357/9645261-authentic-wick-n-vape-cotton-bacon-prime-w

    - watch some "beginner coil build" videos on youtube, spend time on this forum, use the search for "simple builds"

    - stick with your Smok mod, or other regulated mod - don't worry about blowing up - if the ohms are too low, it just won't fire at all

You can try using liquid/ejuice with more nicotine in it for more of a sensation and craving satisfying. Hope this helps.

    First off, welcome to VU.
Second.. flavor depends on several factors. Lets start with airflow. You want something you can adjust so you can run lower airflow for denser vape. Lower airflow generally also means lowering your wattage. A small bore tip also helps condense the vapor for flavor. Rather like More Air/power = cloud, Less air/power = flavor.

So the next biggest factor is actually your coils. Factory made coils are expensive, so learn to wrap a string around a screwdriver... it is that easy. I like to buy a pre-wrapped spool. and cut to length. https://www.fasttech.com/p/8014108
    [IMG]
3 Meters is just about a bit over 10.5 ft. (to lazy to do the math.. about 39.xx inches per meter)
Notice the core wire is a flat kanthal wire.. I am running Dual coil, 7 wrap per coil, on a 3.5mm id core.. (which is actually a pretty damn big coil) at.. 80 watts.

    WIN_20180427_190956.JPG WIN_20180427_191022.JPG WIN_20180427_191039.JPG
As I said.. really larger coils. You can reduce the size to 6 wraps on a 3.0 or 2.5 mmid core and lower the power even more. Point is, you don't need a massive power plant for these coils.
Note the drip tip..small bore. Tank is below the coils, (tilt while vaping to paint wick)
(for smaller clouds, reduce power further and reduce air flow)

I prefer RDA or RDTA for flavor, the decks are made for custom builds and not for pre-made factory coils.
Price? $2.92 USD for aprox 20 coils (6 inchs each) and you likely can get a week or 2 off a coil, just remove burnt tasting cotton, dry burn coils, let cool and re-wick.. and good to go.

I can also make my own clapton wire for coils, but for less than $4.00 Can for 11 ft of wire.... I can't be bothered. LOL.

    Forgot to mention..
    http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.html?
to help plan coil builds and power requirements.Ohms law isn't all that important when using a regulated mod.
Your tools are a pair of flush cut wire cutters or nail clippers (not your wifes if you know what's good for you)
and a set of drill bits from the local dollar store. (or brother in laws tool box when he's not looking)
an ohm meter is nice but not essential if you use steam-engine and a regulated mod. Remember, you are not building for ohms, but for wattage (coil size).
I use a prepaid Master Card for my purchases. My buddy in Texas said they have something like a visa debit card, that works like a credit card, but only up to your account balance?

Mouth to lung.. lower airflow until you get the drag you like.
Throat hit.. increase PG/VG ratio.. 50/50 should give a decent hit. (most likely you will end up reducing PG for a smoother vape, due to sore throat)

Thats a cool tank and coil set up, mine is just the smok one with the coil inside the tank,
I assume haveing the coil so close to the top helps with flavor?

    Yup
And that tank actually has 6 different build decks available. Just swap them as desired.

Here's some good Temco Kanthal A1 26 awg wire for coil building. I suggest also getting yourself an ohm meter to help test your coil builds and be safe. Use it with the Steam Engine web site as you learn building. Recently, had to build without a meter. I had memorized some basics of building and knew roughly the safe zone and how to get it with what I built. Starting out though it's better to not try remembering, experience gets you there and you get that by learning. :)

Not great at math here either. I'm uploading a picture to help. In the picture you'll need a key or legend.

I = Current (This is the electrical current from your battery. The amps if I recall correctly.)
R = Resistance (This is what Ohms measures. Regulated mods might call this watts.)
V = Voltage (This is also part of the current but the volts or negative charge.)

    500px-ohms-law-triangle.jpg

Click on the pic above to see it bigger.

Also, listen to @gbalkam . He's not going to steer you wrong. Others here can offer good advice too.

I did some reading, looks like e-cig businesses May use Paypal, but they have to go through an approvel process. I think for a while Paypal didn't separate between E-cigs and tobacco products, which Paypal still does not allow itself to be used for

Anyway, not very many United States online sellers take Paypal, but some do, so that's cool. I don't know of any besides that one you mentioned

There is Ebay, but it's too easy to get fake stuff or junk on there if you don't know what to look for

I use a pre-paid credit card or visa/MC gift card for my online purchases. So if I do come across a dishonest site, they can't bill me $1000.00 if all I load the card with is $20.

    Welcome to the Underground :vino:

BBB vs Prince = same thing only different.
Since your getting into rebuildables, I'd like to have seen you buy a dedicated one from a reputable rebuildable manufacturer and just vape your BBB till it's up and running, because now, once you see how a rebuildable performs you'll probably have a couple spare tanks and RBA deck, instead of 1, and could have spent that $ on a much better atty - which you'll most likely want to do again.
Pretty sure poor QC smok only makes a deck or 2 for their mass produced products that have factory coil tanks. IIRC, none are really dedicated as a rebuildabe like the best ones are.
    Live and learn..

Welcome to VU. If you are a menthol smoker making the switch it will be weird if anything like my experience. Most flavors tasted like either nothing or nothing good until my taste buds adjusted.

If you are looking for something that calms the crave for a burning ice cube, strongly suggest these liquids over all others until you ween your self away from the menthol.

    Volcano menthol burst
    Halo Menthol Ice

These were the only ones for me that didn't taste like wet leather and chewing gum. Volcano actually satisfied and became an ADV for several years until giving up menthol.

Shouldn't have much trouble drumming up info around here. Lot of knowledgeable heads.

Prince tanks are awesome! I haven't tried the RBA deck tho. With RBA decks there isn't much room. The decks are usually pretty small. If you eventually get a RTA you will notice right away how much room there is to build. You will notice right away here that, people like to shit on Smok and their products.

I leave it around 200, it's something like how hot the coil will get at the voltage/wattage it has there

There's a thread all about how to use Steam Engine, too -

Its frustraiting becouse im bad at self educateing, and every where i go i see crazy wire types i dont understand, being built on decks i dont have, everything is abriviated numbers i dont understand, aparently i have a shitty mod no one uses by a brand everyone hates, i dont have the cash to buy all these different mods/decks i see
So its hard to find a simple bullet point list of " do this, now do that.......... Now your done"
I meen i get the basics if im just useing kanthol iv seen a few vids for that
But its like going to a ice cream shop with 100 flavours, but only knowing how to buy 1 kind...vanilla

Beginging to think i shuldnt have gotten into vapeing at all cuz it feels like iv been thrown into a deep end only pool
Now that im done dumping that onto the web a few more questions

Whats the difference between a rba, rda, rdta?
And is there a table thats simple to understand for what wats are best for what ohm's?
I understand how to figure out what ohms my build will be but dont know what power setting i shuld be useing for said ohms

Also this is probably way above my exp lvl, but just wonder does mesh coils work on a velocity style deck? Just wonder couldnt find any info on mesh +that deck style

    My first build
    Smok prince rba
    Kanthol a1 24 ag parralel 6 wraps
    Cotton bacon for wick
Came in at .16 ohms after put together and on the mod
    No leaks

Still trying to find the sweet spot for flavor, useing milky clouds (strawberry cheesecake) by high clouds
Could really taste it with premade coils, feels alot weaker on my build, but still going up on watts till i find that bliss

So did i do good? First try i think it went well

Ok so if my mod use's 2 3.7V batterys its safe for me to go up to like 7V right? On a .3 ohm coil?
I just cant seem to find a good spot for flavor on this coil i keep getting a wierd taste
Atm im on around 40-55 watts any lower than 40 and its like the coil doesnt get hot enough
    Shuld i go higher?

Not necessarily a NOOB, but I do have a question for DIYers....When y'all are mixing and trying to find that perfect mix, what are y'all vaping on? I have a pretty big tank, and store bought coils. (I'm not into making my own coils, at least not yet) Surely y'all aren't filling full tanks and saturating good coils on tests - or are y'all? What part of R&D am I missing? Do you use a smaller vape pen for testing? Is there a cheep alternative I just haven't come across yet? I'm happy with my Smok AL85, but it seems like I could waste a lot of "saved" money in testing flavor mixes. Feel free to direct message me if you're more comfortable with it.

I have some old RDA's and RTA's I keep on hand for this task. They use small micro coils and very little wick material, I can build them blind folded and they are known for good/accurate flavor. I use scrap pieces of wire from other builds and rayon mostly because it is almost free once you buy a jumbo box.

Like he said above also some people make wickless coils that have alot of gap space to soak up juice, gives you 2-3 vapes then the juice is gone, dry burn the coil to clean it and ready to flavor test agin
