I would just send it back where you got it and get a replacement. I had a problem with the SMY DNA 200 that I bought and the Lipo Battery had a weak cell. I got the Hcigar VT200 as a replacement and was so pleased with it that I bought another one. The board is not recognizing the batter for some reason whether a bad connection or whatever but I would just send it back and get a new one. If I buy something brand new and it has a problem then I won't hesitate to send it back because you can get a lemon in anything. I am not familiar with the Hero but most of the time if you open the case so you can see the board it will void your warranty.

I've never had that happen, but I thought I read if it won't turn on except if connected to a USB power source. That means your fuse is probably blown (DNA200's are fused between the battery and the board - I'm pretty sure the USB doesn't go through the fuse). Neither here nor there since I agree with pescadore. If I got a brand new DNA200 that didn't work out of the box, I would return it pronto.

Cheers,
Steve

You could check the battery, when you hook it up to Escribe and use the Device Monitor. It will show you the charge in each cell.

I always choose Battery Charge % in Field one. You can select it with the little down arrow on the right side

After you setup the defaults you want in the fields just save and upload setting to device

Reconnect your device and then go to the Device Monitor tab and click on it. It will give you status of your battery pack and you can tell if it is charging. Could just be dead.

If under Battery you select Charge, Pack, Cell 1,2, and 3 you can see whether they are charging

Glad its working. If I paid $250 for a mod and it didn't work perfectly straight out of the box, I would be calling the mfgr and saying WTF?

Right, but what i wasn't aware that the side door to the battery opens and i had to hook it up myself which i found very weird, most of the DNA 200 I've seen the door doesn't open so yeah, Once i saw that i plunged everything in and it worked.

Kinda weird that their were no instructions on that or anything to tell me i had to actually hook up the battery
